Definitions
- the invention relates to a flushing system according to the preamble of claim 1, a pre-flush system for a sanitary facility according to the preamble of claim 11, a retrofit set for a sanitary facility according to the preamble of claim 12, a method for flushing and in particular also pre-flushing a sanitary facility according to the preamble of Claim 13 and also a sanitary facility according to the preamble of claim 14.
- Flush and pre-wash systems are known, for example, with regard to urinals and shower toilets, in which a pre-wash is triggered before use. This contributes to improved hygiene by keeping the siphon, i. H. the odor trap is filled with water once to promote the evacuation of urine. In addition, such a pre-flush also serves to wet the bowl surface of the urinal with water in order to reduce any buildup on the bowl surface.
- a pre-flush function is also known for conventional flush toilets which use a two-flush volume flush valve, the smaller of the two flush volumes being used for a pre-flush.
- a one or two flush volume flush valve with standardized large and small flush volumes is used as standard.
- the combination of the respective large and small flush volumes is usually 6 liters of flush water or 4.5 liters of flush water for the large flush volume and, as standard, 3 liters of flush water for the small flush volume.
- flushing takes place through a cistern in that a mechanical drain valve provided with floats is raised from a closed position to an open position, which is arranged in the cistern.
- different mechanisms are used in the drain valve in order to implement the stroke differently when the valve is lifted, and to control the closure of the valve by different float combinations.
- Two lever arms on the drain valve are responsible for the two different flush volumes.
- the drain valve electronically by activating, for example, a motor or actuator, such as a linear drive or a solenoid, by means of a push button, which in turn opens the drain valve in the usual way, which in turn is usually activated by the respective The lift-float combination of the two-flush volume flush valve is closed again.
- a motor or actuator such as a linear drive or a solenoid
- a pre-rinse function generally requires little rinse water, because the aim of a pre-rinse is to only wet the bowl of the sanitary facility with water in order to create or leave a sliding layer, and in this way to help reduce the amount of faeces during use and / or urine stick to the bowl of the sanitary facility, so that any second main flushing processes or subsequent cleaning can be avoided.
- a standard small-volume flush with 3 liters of flushing water, as used according to the current state of the art, is not necessary for this and can objectively be viewed as a waste of water.
- flushing valves it is not possible to provide quantities of flushing water other than those preset on the flushing valve. This applies both with regard to any desired smaller amounts of flushing water and also with regard to a possibly desired larger amount of flushing water.
- the invention is based on the object of providing a structurally simple, cost-effective and variable system for performing a flush and in particular also pre-flushing of a sanitary facility, which has a low water consumption, an easily adjustable amount of flush water, in particular the amount of flush water, and with a conventional drain valve, in particular with a conventional two-flush volume flush valve, in particular an existing conventional sanitary facility that uses a conventional flush valve can be retrofitted inexpensively and easily with the system according to the invention.
- the object of the invention is to provide a method for rinsing and pre-rinsing a sanitary facility and a sanitary facility equipped with such a rinsing and optionally pre-rinsing system.
- a flushing system for a sanitary facility in particular a flush toilet or urinal, which has a sanitary body with a bowl and a flushing water container from which flushing water can be dispensed into the bowl as part of a flushing process, the flushing process by actuating a conventional mechanical flushing water valve, which has a lever system that triggers the flushing process with at least one lever and a float mechanism that ends the flushing process and is assigned to the lever, can be triggered, the flushing system further comprising an actuator that acts on the lever of the mechanical flushing mechanism and in the event of activation of the actuator causes the flushing water valve to be raised to trigger a flush with a desired adjustable lift height, which is different from a predetermined by the flushing water valve Standard lift height, which is assigned to a conventional mechanically triggered flushing process, differentiates.
- flushing system does not rely on the flushing water quantity (s) which are, in some cases only very laborious, adjustable in conventional flushing valves, but which are fixed for subsequent flushing cycles after the setting. is limited, which can be defined, for example, as a small flush volume and as a large flush volume, but also immediately before a respective wash cycle, in particular without the need for mechanical "tinkering", is able to provide a respective smaller or larger amount of flush water that is available from the flush water tank is dispensed into the bowl of the sanitary facility.
- This variability of the flushing system according to the invention is based on the innovation that the drain valve that closes the drainage of the flushing water into the bowl of the sanitary facility is not only, like conventional drain valves, by a purely mechanical lever-float combination that can be defined by a setting, if necessary , which always results in one or more specific predefined lift height (s) of the drain valve, can be raised and thus opened, but also by means of an actuator that acts on the flushing lever of the drain valve independently of a manual actuation button.
- the actuator is advantageously not limited to the mechanically specified and possibly construction-related lift heights and timing of the respective drain valve, but is able to perform both lower lift heights and to enable extended opening times with a full stroke length.
- flush valve and drain valve are used synonymously.
- the flushing water valve when the lever is activated by the actuator, provides a defined, compared to that given by the conventional mechanical flushing water valve, in particular by its standard lift height (s) Rinse water amount, reduced or increased amount of rinse water is dispensed.
- the flush water valve is a mechanical at least two flush volume drain valve with which a first flush volume of water, for example a large flush water volume, by means of a first flush volume mechanism, or a second flush volume of water, for example a small flush water volume, and possibly a second flush volume mechanism at least a third flush volume of water, for example an average flush water volume, can be delivered by means of at least one third flush volume mechanism, the actuator acting on the lever of a single flush volume mechanism, in particular on the lever with which the smallest flush water volume can be delivered.
- a first flush volume of water for example a large flush water volume
- a second flush volume of water for example a small flush water volume
- a second flush volume mechanism at least a third flush volume of water, for example an average flush water volume
- a single actuator which acts exclusively on a single flushing release lever of a conventional flushing valve.
- the lifting height or, in other words, the stroke length, which is then applied to the lever when the actuator is activated, determines how far the drain valve, or its end that closes one drain opening, is raised and how much rinsing water in the sequence the bowl is handed over to the sanitary facility.
- a flushing and / or pre-flushing system for a sanitary facility, in particular a flush toilet or urinal, which has a sanitary body having a bowl and a flushing water container, from which flushing water can be dispensed into the bowl as part of a flushing process, the pre-flushing process being carried out by a Actuation of a flushing water valve is triggered, which is, for example, a mechanical two-flush volume drain valve with which a large flush volume of water can be delivered by means of a large flush volume mechanism or a small flush volume of water can be delivered by means of a small flush volume mechanism, the pre-flush system having an actuator that acts on the small flush volume mechanism and in the If the actuator is activated, the flushing water valve releases a smaller amount of flushing water than the small flushing amount during pre-flushing, in order to reduce the adhesion of feces and / or urine.
- a flushing water valve which is, for example, a mechanical two-flush volume
- the drain valve is opened only briefly and just enough by actuating the small-quantity flushing lever of the drain valve that a small amount of flushing water, sufficient to wet the surface of the bowl, can be dispensed.
- this is achieved in that the actuator only moves the pressure cable with a very short stroke length in the direction of the small-quantity flushing lever, which is just sufficient for a run-off of flushing water, so that the small-volume flushing lever only pushes the pressure cable with a small stroke length corresponding to the advance length of the pressure rope, and again the drain valve corresponding to the stroke length, is raised and thus opened.
- the feed length of the pressure cable and thus the stroke length acting on the valve lever can be directly proportional to the stroke height of the drain valve or, if the drain valve used has a transmission mechanism, deviate from the direct proportionality.
- the actuator is deactivated, whereby the pressure cable is actively or passively pushed back into its starting position before the actuator was activated.
- “Active” in this context means that the actuator actively pulls the pressure cable back.
- Passive in this context means that the pressure cable is pushed back into its starting position by the lever mechanism of the closing valve. The valve closure itself takes place in that the valve falls back into its position closing the drain opening due to gravity.
- valve and drain or flush valve for reasons of simplicity are used both for the part of the drain valve / valve / flush valve closing the drain opening and for the valve as a whole, since the flushing system according to the invention is a known per se Drain valve / valve / flush valve is used, the mechanics and functionality of which is assumed to be known and according to the invention is also used when opening by means of the actuator, the lifting bell of the valve closing the drain opening by the actuator, however, according to the invention in more than that by the conventional drain valve / valve / Flush valve mechanically preset positions and can also be held there if desired.
- An essential point of the flushing system or pre-flushing system according to the invention is to use an actuator to act on the small flush volume mechanism, for example, so that not the entire small flush volume, but only an amount of flush water sufficient to wet a surface of a bowl of a sanitary facility is delivered to a flushing water tank and distributed in the bowl of the sanitary facility.
- this is achieved in that, in a conventional mechanical two-flush volume drain valve, the small flush volume mechanism is controlled in such a way that the flush water valve rises to such an extent that a reduced amount of flush water is released compared to the small flush volume, which is just sufficient to prevent faeces from adhering and / or to avoid urine in the bowl of the sanitary facility without the actual small flush volume mechanism specified by the valve becoming active.
- the surface of the bowl of the sanitary facility is only wetted with water without, as in the prior art, a significant amount of water flowing out of the bowl of the sanitary facility.
- the actuator is a motor, in particular a linear drive, a spindle drive or a swivel joint mechanism, which acts on the selected flush volume mechanism or lever via a pressure force transmission, for example by means of a pressure cable or a pressure rope, and the drain valve in the event of activation opens so that an amount of flushing water defined by the height of lift of the valve is dispensed into the bowl.
- a pressure cable is used, which is advantageously passed through a Bowden cable and acts on a lever arm of the small flush volume mechanism.
- this can cause the smallest amount of flushing water required for pre-flushing to be released into the bowl of the sanitary facility by opening the valve briefly and then dropping it after the actuator has been switched off.
- the pressure cable is driven by the actuator, while the Bowden cable extends between the actuator and the small flush mechanism.
- the actuator can also be held in the desired advanced position, so that the flushing valve remains in the desired position, which is predetermined by the actuator and which can be variable, until a position greater than that, during activation of the actuator mechanical small flushing amount and even a larger amount than a usual, in particular mechanically predetermined, large flushing amount of flushing water, for example a so-called hygienic flush, was dispensed into the bowl of the sanitary facility.
- the pre-wash system has a sensor which is designed as a distance sensor or as a proximity sensor and is suitable for detecting a user of the sanitary facility and for transmitting an activation signal to the actuator.
- the surface of the bowl of the sanitary facility pre-flushed while a user of the sanitary facility is approaching the sanitary facility, so that the user can use the sanitary facility immediately without the user having to wait for the pre-flush to be completed got to.
- the pre-rinsing, or the wetting of the surface of the bowl of the sanitary facility with flushing water can take place in such a way that the surface of the bowl of the sanitary facility is actually wetted with flushing water, without this, following gravity, already partially in the direction of the siphon, d. H. Odor trap, has expired.
- the flushing system according to the invention can have a time control to end activation of the actuator after a predeterminable period of time after activation of the actuator or to reset the actuator to its initial state before the pressure force transmission, so that the drain valve subsequently , ie after deactivation of the actuator, can close again.
- the setting of a reduced amount of flushing water for example for pre-flushing the bowl of the sanitary facility, is controlled in a surprisingly simple manner via an opening degree, or the lift height, of the drain valve.
- the degree of opening of the drain valve is adjusted so that the amount of flush water used for pre-flushing is preferably in the range of 20% to 80% of the small flush volume of 3 liters, i.e. in the range of 0.6 liters to 2.4 liters however, depending on whether a flush toilet or a urinal is to be pre-flushed, it is in the range from 1 liter to approx. 1.5 liters, i.e. about half the conventional small flush volume.
- the senor is a contactless sensor, in particular an infrared sensor, HF microwave sensor or ultrasonic sensor.
- a contactless sensor in particular an infrared sensor, HF microwave sensor or ultrasonic sensor.
- the pre-wash system has a control unit which is suitable for the activation signal of the sensor and / or a transmitted by radio from a radio signal transmitter, such as a remote control, in particular for example Bluetooth, Zigbee, or Z-Wave signal and / or to receive and process signals transmitted via a TCP / IP radio or cable network, and / or to provide a sequence control with different strokes and timings, or times, or to receive and process a time control signal and to control the actuator .
- a radio signal transmitter such as a remote control, in particular for example Bluetooth, Zigbee, or Z-Wave signal and / or to receive and process signals transmitted via a TCP / IP radio or cable network, and / or to provide a sequence control with different strokes and timings, or times, or to receive and process a time control signal and to control the actuator .
- both a remote control which can be an infrared remote control or a radio remote control or another of the mentioned remote control options, and / or a signal generated by an app, which a Bluetooth or TCP / IP or another protocol, which is transmitted wirelessly or by cable, can be used to control a sanitary facility equipped with the pre-wash system according to the invention or, advantageously, also to control a large number of sanitary facilities equipped with such a pre-wash system, possibly simultaneously.
- the pre-wash system advantageously comprises an actuating plate which has at least one push button in order to mechanically actuate the mechanical drain valve manually. In any case, this ensures that both pre-flushing and flushing of the sanitary facility can be carried out safely even in the event of a power failure.
- the senor is arranged behind a material that is transparent to the sensor signal to be detected and is integrated into the push button or the actuating plate surrounding the push button.
- the attachment of the sensor does not require any additional space, but, just like the actuator and the Bowden cable with pull or push cable, can be easily integrated into the existing equipment of the sanitary facility without laborious and labor-intensive measures having to be taken or additional space for the Components of the pre-wash system must be made available.
- the actuator of the pre-wash system according to the invention is attached to the inner, preferably lateral and / or upper wall, namely to a point on the wall, of the flushing water tank or on the back of the actuating plate that is easily accessible through a possible inspection opening.
- By attaching the actuator in the area of the inspection opening it is on the one hand easily accessible and also easy to attach, so that, according to the invention, there is no need for a cumbersome removal of the two-flush volume drain valve, as is necessary in the prior art.
- This is also possible in particular because only a connection between the actuator and the small flush volume mechanism or the lever with which this small flush volume mechanism is triggered needs to be established. Since this lever of the small flush quantity mechanism is also within reach of the inspection opening, an assembly of the prewash system according to the invention or a retrofitting of the prewash system according to the invention to an existing sanitary facility is advantageously possible without any problems.
- all components of the flushing system in particular a control unit, possibly a Bluetooth module, an LED lighting unit, for example for illuminating any logo or illuminating the actuation plate or individual buttons thereof, and possibly a radio module, are arranged on the rear of the actuation plate and / or attached.
- a control unit possibly a Bluetooth module
- an LED lighting unit for example for illuminating any logo or illuminating the actuation plate or individual buttons thereof, and possibly a radio module.
- the invention is also achieved in particular by a pre-wash system according to the above statements, the drain valve being raised and thus opened by the actuator for pre-washing the bowl of the sanitary facility so far that rinsing water can flow from the rinsing water container into the bowl and the actuator is directly is deactivated when a predefined stroke length for the pre-flushing of the bowl of the sanitary facility is reached, so that the drain valve closes again following the force of gravity and / or the water pressure.
- the object according to the invention is also achieved by a method for pre-flushing a sanitary facility, in particular by means of a pre-flush system according to the above statements, wherein a flushing process is triggered by a sensor and / or radio and / or cable-based signal that activates an actuator, which has the effect that a single mechanical and manually operated flush volume mechanism associated with the lever Pressure is applied so that the drain valve opens with a desired lift height and the flushing process is ended by deactivating the actuator, whereby the drain valve closes.
- the object according to the invention is also achieved by a sanitary facility, for example a flush toilet or urinal, with a pre-flush system according to the preceding statements and / or a retrofit set according to the preceding statements, the sanitary facility according to an embodiment of the invention via mobile phone and / or Bluetooth and / or app and / or can be controlled by computer and this app can be adapted to the individual wishes of the user.
- a sanitary facility for example a flush toilet or urinal
- a pre-flush system according to the preceding statements and / or a retrofit set according to the preceding statements
- the sanitary facility according to an embodiment of the invention via mobile phone and / or Bluetooth and / or app and / or can be controlled by computer and this app can be adapted to the individual wishes of the user.
- pre-flushing is thus possible by means of an automated flushing mechanism, in that access of a user to the sanitary facility is detected by a sensor system, for example built into the actuating plate, which transmits a signal to a control unit, which in turn activates the actuator so that flushing is carried out is triggered electronically.
- a signal could also be transmitted directly from a sensor unit to the actuator.
- the additional water consumption of the pre-wash according to the invention is low to negligible, especially when compared to the advantageous effect achieved therewith, which avoids any further full rinses.
- the motor or actuator is able to override or superimpose the drain valve mechanism by actively actuating the valve, there is no longer any dependency on the two-flush volume mechanism of the drain valve, so that regardless of the The flush volumes set with the two flush volume drain valve, and lower flush volumes can also be set, which can be used to pre-flush the surface of the bowl of the sanitary facility.
- a third flush volume smaller than 3 liters can be achieved by lifting the drain valve for a minimum time and a minimum stroke and then closing it again.
- an amount of about 1.5 liters, for example, can be set, which is sufficient to wet the bowl with water.
- a three or more flush volume logic can be implemented that can be adapted to different events. Mention should be made here of, for example, a smaller third flush volume for pre-flushing, or a larger flush volume than six liters flush volume, for example for a so-called hygienic flush. It is also possible to completely empty the cistern in this way. Intermediate flushing is also possible, for example when a flush toilet is used for a longer period of time.
- the option of manually triggering the push button enables users who are not familiar with the new technologies to trigger the flush as usual. This makes it easier, for example, for demented users who are no longer able to learn new operating procedures to use the sanitary facility according to the invention.
- a cistern that was originally only able to wash one amount can also wash two, three or more different amounts with a device according to the invention.
- FIGS. 1 to 4 a pre-flush system according to the invention with its components is shown in a schematic representation.
- This includes a cistern 30, preferably a concealed cistern, which is accessible via an inspection shaft 31 and comprises a conventional mechanical two-flush volume drain valve 32 which is provided with a lever unit 33, via which two different flush water volumes can be triggered mechanically in the course of a flush .
- Two pressure cables 34a and 34b which are usually connected to the two differently sized buttons of a conventional actuating plate, represent a connection between the lever unit 33 and a button on the actuating plate 2 or a linear drive 20.
- the linear drive is located in a receptacle in the cistern 30, while the push button 2 is on the actuating plate 1.
- the operating plate 1 comprises a front side 5a, a push button 2 and a plastic frame 6 arranged on the rear side 5b of the operating plate 1, which serves as a mounting frame and is glued to the rear side 5b of the operating plate 1.
- the guides 8a and 8b of the button 2 On the plastic frame 6, the guides 8a and 8b of the button 2, a mounting point of the first pressure cable 9, a thread for a vandal-proof screw 13, and mounting points of an LED unit 11 are arranged.
- the actuating plate 1 is mounted on the inspection shaft 31 of the cistern 30 by means of a hanging frame, with screw rods (not shown) protruding from the lower cistern and locking into guides 12a and 12b of the hanging frame.
- the actuating plate 1 is hung on the hanging frame 7 by means of corresponding snap-in elements 15.
- the mechanical push button can be separated from the infrared sensor so that it is not moved along with the push button, as is proposed as a standard.
- a then rigid installation form can advantageously prevent the position of the sensor from possibly changing, which under certain circumstances could make a possible later recalibration necessary.
- a power supply is provided by an external network adapter arranged outside the cistern 30 and is fed to the control unit 10 by means of a cable 22.
- Electronic control cables 23a to 23d run from the control unit 10 to the respective components to be controlled, namely the linear drive 20, a Bluetooth module 21, an optional radio module 24, and an LED unit 11, and are dimensioned and specified accordingly.
- the mechanical push button 2 comprises an active infrared sensor which is arranged on the control unit 10 and behind a window 3 transparent to infrared radiation.
- the infrared sensor and the control unit 10 move together with the pushbutton 2.
- the pushbutton is mechanically connected to the large flush quantity lever of the lever unit 33 of the drain valve 32 via a bayonet connection 9 and a pressure cable 34a.
- a large-volume flush is triggered, which is controlled independently by a drain valve-large-volume flush mechanism.
- the large flush volume is set using a mechanical actuator and, in the present case, is possible with a volume between 4.5 liters and 7.5 liters.
- the second pressure cable 34b runs between the linear drive 20 and the small-quantity flushing lever on the lever unit 33.
- the mechanical small-quantity flushing is set mechanically by a screw, which in the present case allows quantities between 2 liters and approx. 5 liters.
- the small flush volume is preset at the factory to 3 liters.
- the linear drive controls three or more different flush quantities.
- a pre-flushing of less than 3 liters is carried out by the linear drive pushing the pressure cable with a short stroke around the lever of the small-quantity flushing mechanism briefly and then turn back so that a minimal amount of rinse water is dispensed.
- An amount of approx. 1.5 liters is specified as the target amount for a pre-flush.
- the physically set small flush takes place in that the linear drive pushes the pressure cable with the full stroke of the small flush volume lever. After pressing the pressure cable, the linear drive moves back directly. In this way, the drain valve mechanism takes over the delivery of the small amount of flush independently.
- the float system controls the flushing or flushing volume within the valve, and the valve closes as usual after the preset amount of water.
- the linear drive executes the full stroke length, the linear drive holding this position for a certain time after pressing the pressure cable in order to keep the drain valve open and prevent the drain valve from closing via the mechanism. After a certain time, the linear drive is withdrawn, which closes the valve. The time for this sequence, together with the throttling effect of the toilet bowl, determines the flush volume that flows out of the drain valve. Several times can be programmed in the control electronics in order to achieve different flush volumes.
- the sensor can detect one or more detection areas and also detect the dwell time of the detected object. This information is sent to the control unit 10 for analysis, where it is decided by means of preprogrammed rules which subsequent function is to be carried out. For example, if a user is detected in a distance of approx. 90 cm from the sanitary facility, the "pre-wash" function can be triggered and the corresponding signal sent to the linear drive to trigger the 1.5 liter pre-wash. A flush can be triggered automatically after a certain dwell time, with a distinction between small and large flush volumes being regulated by the dwell time. If a hand is held close in front of the sensor, for example, a large-volume flush is manually triggered without contact. Furthermore can further special functions or settings can be activated by means of an extra longer dwell time of a hand in the vicinity of the sensor, such as starting a cleaning mode, which for example implies the function "no automatic rinsing for the next 3 minutes".
- the preprogrammed sequences of the linear drive for a 6 liter large volume flush, a 4.5 liter large volume flush, a 3 liter small volume flush and a 1.5 liter pre-flush can be stored as fixed sequences in the microcontroller of the linear drive 20. After the control electronics have evaluated the signals from the infrared sensor, the correspondingly stored program is executed independently by the linear drive 20. Alternatively, the various linear drive sequences can be stored in the control electronics 10 and, after the evaluation of the sensor system, control the linear drive.
- the Bluetooth module 21 is connected to the control electronics 10 and can receive external commands from any computer or cell phone / smartphone 25 equipped with Bluetooth. Alternatively, the module could remain permanently wirelessly connected by means of a so-called Bluetooth gateway device 26, with commands from an external computer or cell phone / smartphone being able to be sent to the gateway.
- This allows different settings and commands to be made remotely.
- a user interface of an app can be used to change a basic setting, for example by switching the automatically triggered large-volume flush from a first flush volume to a different flush volume, such as from 6 liters to 4.5 liters, without the drain valve has to be laboriously expanded and converted by hand.
- All other values to be set can also be set using such a wireless system.
- a hygienic flush volume, flush intervals, cleaning modes, LED properties, sensor sensitivities and reaction times should be mentioned.
- control electronics are equipped with a memory.
- the number of flushes or uses can be saved as a function of time and transmitted to the gateway or a computer / mobile phone / smartphone. This allows consumption details to be tracked and calculated.
- a message could be automatically sent to a predefined address.
- smart assistant such as Amazon Echo with Alexa, it would also be possible to control the device's features by voice.
