Description

    Technical field of the invention
  • The following invention relates to a platform for transporting reels in containers whereby facilitating the placement of at least one reel, its fastening and its transport. A homogeneous load distribution is furthermore achieved.
  • The platform is configured such that once the corresponding reel is arranged in the same, the anchoring of the reel to the platform is facilitated in a simple and rapid manner. To that end, the platform comprises a plurality of elements in the form of a wedge on which the reel is positioned, being fixed with straps, cables or chains. The platform itself is immobilised in the transport container by means of stop blocks on the internal faces of the side walls of the actual transport container.
  • Background of the invention
  • Different ways of arranging the reels for transporting same are known, with the placement of the reels in a "cradle" in which they are fastened being widely used, where stop pivots may further be arranged. "Cradle" is understood to mean a cavity made in the base of the transport surface in which the reel is placed in the axial direction and which can be secured with the collaboration of fastening wedges.
  • Thus, the placement "cradle" for the reels can be oriented in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle and the possible pivots act as a stop, halting their possible longitudinal movement. The reel is fastened by at least one strap, cable or chain for the purpose of preventing its movement.
  • Likewise, the reels can be transported since they are placed between a pair of wedges, suitably fixed, arranged, in the longitudinal or transverse direction with respect to the vehicle, on the surface of the transport platform of the vehicle and fastened by the corresponding strap, cable or chain.
  • The "cradles" on which the reels are arranged can be defined in the actual base of the transport vehicle. In this case, the drawback is that on the return trip, the vehicle generally returns empty, whereby cost-effectiveness drops considerably.
  • Likewise, the transport can be carried out by arranging the reels, supported by one of their sides, on corresponding pallets to which they are fixed. In turn, said pallets must be anchored the best way possible, with there being the risk that due to inertial forces produced during the trip, said forces may cause either the reel or the assembly defined by the reel and the pallet to be released causing significant damage.
  • Likewise, there is a risk of causing wear on the actual support base of the pallets since the weight is concentrated on a small surface.
  • Document ES 1152083 U , which describes a device for the positioning of reels in transport containers, can also be considered. This device comprises pairs of wedge bodies which, facing one another in a bevelled area, abut with the reel body. The device further comprises a plurality of aligned openings made in the internal base of the container for positioning and transporting reels, and wedge bodies which: on one side of their bevelled face have a platen projecting towards the top, or on their base have a series of protruding pivots, preferably being four in number aligned two-by-two.
  • Thus, the plurality of aligned openings made in the internal base of the container for positioning reels are defined according to at least one area with two pairs of aligned openings, with the corresponding reel being located in the centre and fastened by two pairs of metal wedge bodies arranged in relation to the reel body.
  • Document CN 107685963 A , which accords with the preamble of claim 1, discloses a cargo loading platform, cargo transportation equipment and a container. The platform is used for loading columnar cargoes and comprises a platform body and at least a pair of cargo brackets. The pair of cargo brackets can convert between a first position and a second position relative to the platform body: when the pair of cargo brackets is in the first position, is arranged close to each other and each of the cargo brackets of the pair form a first loading groove with the platform body on one side, separately; when the pair of cargo brackets is in the second position, is arranged far from each other, and a second loading groove is formed between the pair of cargo brackets. Cylindrical cargoes of various diameter specifications can be transported, and the quantity of the loading grooves can be changed, so that adaptive changes of the quantity of the cylindrical cargo transportation grooves and the diameters of the borne cargoes can be achieved, and the cargo transportation efficiency is maximized.
  • Detailed description of the invention
  • The present specification describes a platform for transporting reels in containers comprising:
    • a first and a second pair of parallel longitudinal profiles;
    • the parallel longitudinal profiles of the first and second pair are attached to one another by a plurality of tubular profiles, with receiving openings, arranged in the orthogonal direction with respect to the pair of longitudinal profiles and of a height similar to the width of the profiles of the first and second pair;
    • the first and second pair of parallel longitudinal profiles are attached to one another, in parallel, by a series of first attachment profiles, arranged between respective profiles of each of the pairs of parallel longitudinal profiles;
    • each pair of longitudinal profiles comprises an external profile with at least one external face to which there are fixed in the orthogonal position at least a third and a fourth pair of parallel transverse profiles, attached to one another by respective second attachment profiles, in proximity to the free end thereof;
    • a plurality of wedges which on their external lower face have a protrusion with a polygonal section; and
    • a series of blocks configured for acting as a stop of the platform on the internal faces of the side walls of the container for transport.
  • The protrusion with a polygonal section of the external lower face of the wedges has a section similar to the section of the plurality of tubular profiles and is of a height similar to the width of the mentioned first and second pair of longitudinal profiles, being interlocked in both the longitudinal and transverse direction when introduced in a receiving opening of said tubular profiles (which can be the actual section of the tubular profile).
  • Likewise, the protrusion with a polygonal section of the external lower face of the wedges can fit directly between the first and second pair of parallel longitudinal profiles, likewise being interlocked in the longitudinal and transverse direction.
  • On the external lateral face of the external profile of the first and second pair of parallel longitudinal profiles, the platform has a plurality of mill-type tensioning devices for fastening the straps, cables or chains for securing the reels to be transported.
  • In the cavity defined between the second attachment profiles and the free end of the third and fourth pair of profiles are placed the blocks acting as a stop with the internal faces of the side walls of the container in which the platform is going to be transported.
  • In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the polygonal protrusion of the lower face of the wedges has a quadrangular section.
  • In summary, by using the described platform a homogeneous load distribution across the entire surface of the base of the container, as well as the arrangement of a perfect fastening of the reels with the platform can be obtained. The appearance of possible inertial forces that may affect the reels and cause them to be released, to become worn, or causing other wear in the container, is prevented. It is of the utmost importance to prevent any of this damage.
  • To complement the following description and for the purpose of helping to better understand the features of the invention, a set of drawings is attached to the present specification, in the figures of which, by illustration and not limitation, the most characteristic details of the invention are represented.
  • Brief description of the drawings
    • Figure 1 shows a perspective view of the profiles and wedges that are part of the platform for transporting reels in containers.
    • Figure 2 shows a plan view of the platform for transporting reels arranged in a container, where it can be seen how the platform acts as a stop against the internal faces of the side walls of the container by means of blocks.
    • Figure 3 shows a perspective view of an element in the form of a wedge and a protrusion with a polygonal section on its lower face can be seen.
    • Figure 4 shows a plan view of the platform with a reel arranged in the central part for homogeneous load distribution during transport.

    Description of a preferred embodiment
  • In view of the mentioned figures and according to the numbering used, it can be seen that the platform (1) comprises a first pair of longitudinal profiles (2) and a second pair of parallel longitudinal profiles (3), which longitudinal profiles are in turn parallel to one another and attached to one another by a plurality of tubular profiles (4). The tubular profiles comprise at least one receiving opening which serves for fixing wedges (9) on which the reel will be supported and which are also part of the platform (1).
  • Figure 1 depicts a perspective view of the platform of the invention in which the profiles and the wedges already attached to said profiles can be seen. The wedges are removably attached so that they can be placed in the positions that are the most advisable depending on the reels that will be transported.
  • In a preferred embodiment, the tubular profiles (4) are oriented in the orthogonal direction with respect to the longitudinal direction of the first and second pair of longitudinal profiles (2, 3) and have heights similar to the profiles of said pairs of longitudinal profiles (2, 3). In this embodiment, the actual section of the tubular profile (4) forms the receiving opening. The tubular profiles (4) are preferably of a height similar to the height of the longitudinal profiles of the first and second pair of longitudinal profiles (2, 3).
  • Likewise, the first and second pair of longitudinal profiles (2, 3) are attached to one another, in parallel, by a series of first attachment profiles (5), arranged between the first and second pair of longitudinal profiles (2, 3).
  • Each pair of longitudinal profiles (2, 3) comprises an external longitudinal profile with an external lateral face and attached in the position orthogonal to said external longitudinal profiles are at least a third and a fourth pair of transverse profiles (6, 7). The transverse profiles of the third and fourth pair of transverse profiles (6, 7) are parallel to one another and are attached to one another by respective second attachment profiles (8), as can be seen for example in Figure 2.
  • The platform (1) for transporting reels comprises, as described above, a plurality of elements in the form of a wedge (9) which on their lower face have a protrusion (10) with a polygonal section, preferably being a quadrangular section. Figure 3 depicts a wedge (9) with its corresponding protrusion (10). The protrusion (10) is configured for being housed in the receiving opening of the tubular profiles (4) or between the longitudinal profiles of each pair of longitudinal profiles (2, 3).
  • Said protrusion (10) of the wedges (9) preferably has a section and a height similar to the receiving opening, being interlocked in the longitudinal and transverse direction when introduced in said receiving opening (which, as described, can be the actual section of the tubular profile).
  • The fact that the section of the protrusion (10) and of the receiving opening is polygonal allows assuring the position in the longitudinal and transverse direction, preventing possible unwanted rotations of the wedge (9) with respect to the profiles of the platform (1) during the operations of positioning the reels in the platform (1) or during transport.
  • The platform further comprises a series of stop blocks (11) of the platform (1) on the internal faces of the side walls (12) of the container in which the platform is placed, as can be seen in Figure 2.
  • As can be seen in Figure 4, on the external lateral face of the external longitudinal profile of the first and of the second pair of longitudinal profiles (2, 3) there is a plurality of mill-type tensioning devices (13) for fastening straps (15), cables or chains for securing the reels (14) to be transported.
  • It is possible to arrange and transport on the platform (1) one, two or three reels (14), such that if a single reel (14) is going to be transported, it will be arranged on the corresponding wedges (9) fitted in the respective tubular profiles (4) (in the corresponding receiving opening), and the reel (14) is suitably fastened to the actual platform (1), so as to prevent it from suffering minimal inertial force during transport.
  • The reels are arranged on the wedges (9) placed and interlocked in the transverse direction of the platform (1) and the fastening is carried out by straps (15) which are fixed by means of the mill-type tensioning devices (13) essential to the actual platform (1), which in turn is immobilised by the blocks (11) which are configured for being in contact with the internal face of the side walls (12) of the container. It may also comprise additional blocks configured for connecting the front parts of the container.
  • If the reels (14) to be transported are two in number, they are arranged and fastened on the ends of the platform (1), and if the reels (14) to be transported are three in number, they are arranged and fastened aligned on the platform (1), thereby obtaining suitable load distribution.
