Description
- The present invention concerns a household appliance with a door opening mechanism. The door opening mechanism allows for an automatic opening of the door of a household appliance, in particular, of an oven, released for example with a button on a control panel or a sensor located on the surface of the handle or connected to the handle.
- Known are door locks that enable keeping the door in a closed position and preventing the door from being opened by the user. For example, a European patent no.
EP2479364 describes a solution, in which the door is locked by cooperation of the locking ledge located on the appliance door with a lock located in the body of the appliance. The lock is equipped with a profile hook, whose rotation is controlled by the slider on a spring. The door is locked by blocking the movement of the slider by an electromechanism with a moving catch. -
Document DE 10 2011 011662 A1 discloses a lock for a dishwasher door comprising a lock for installation in the body of the dishwasher and a connecting unit mounted on the door of the dishwasher. It is also possible to install a lock on the dishwasher door and the connecting unit in the dishwasher body. The lock comprises a pair of locking arms located in a housing and connected by a pressing spring, each arm mounted on a separate pivot axis. The free ends of the closing arms protrude from the housing and may deviate from the normal position held by the pressing spring against the spring return force. The connecting unit comprises a closing throat, into which the free ends of the closing arms enter, when closing the dishwasher door. In the closing throat there are surfaces for deflecting the closing arms, wherein the first biasing surfaces move towards each other causing the closing arms to approach each other. In the end zone of the closing throat there are recesses for receiving the free ends of the closing arms. When closing the dishwasher, the ends of the free ends of the closing arms are positioned in the recesses under the action of the return force of the pressing spring. The dishwasher door can be automatically opened by an opening unit comprising a screw mechanism driven by a motor which brings the free ends of the closing arms closer together and extends their ends from the recesses in the end zone of the closing throat. The dishwasher door can also be automatically opened by a bolt on the actuator, which pushes the door out of the closed position. - In the solution
EP2479364B1 , the door is released for opening by the user, however, automatic door opening is impossible. This solution is mainly used in washing machines. The lock in solutionPL216474 B1 - The purpose of the invention is to develop household appliance with a door opening mechanism, the door of which can be opened automatically while keeping the possibility to open them manually.
- Accordingly, there is provided a houshold appliance with a door opening mechanism, consisting of a body closed by a door, including a lock mounted in the body of the household appliance, profile element located on the door of the household appliance and, located between the body and the door element exerting permanent force on a closed door in the direction of opening, characterised in that the lock consists of a rigid base, positioning other components, a pair of closing arms mounted on one axis built in the base, and intersecting with each other in the mounting location, that in the front part, between the pivot axis and the appliance door, have hook-shaped ends forming a clamp, and two helical pressing springs, whose ends are mounted respectively to the rear part of the closing arm and the adjacent to the arm side wall of the base. Hook-shaped ends of the front part of the closing arms are located at the pin attached to the upper door rail of the appliance, which is a profile element of the appliance door opening mechanism. When the appliance door is closed, the hook-shaped ends of the closing arms catch the pin, press the door to the gasket of the body of the appliance, and retain the door in a closed position. Between the ends of the rear parts of the closing arms, there is a cam mounted on an driving shaft, which causes the cam to rotate. During a 180° rotation of the cam, the closing arms are temporarily opened and the pin is released. The lock further comprises a cam position sensor which allows the drive to be switched on and off once the cam has reached the correct angular position. The door opens following rotation of the cam to the position of maximum opening of the clamps of the closing arms and the pin release.
- It is advantageous if the pin has a shape of a deltoid with rounded vertices.
- It is also advantageous if the long sides of the pin are directed towards the body of the household appliance. In this way, the smaller lead angle during door closing allows to reduce the force required to close it, while larger lead angle when opening the door makes the force pressing the door to the housing gasket ensures the closure, and at the same time requires the use of sufficient force to open the door of the machine. This reduces the risk of accidental, uncontrolled door opening.
- The advantage of the household appliance with a door opening mechanism according to the invention is a simple design consisting of few elements, which translates into relatively low cost of its production. The lock allows both automatic door opening and manual opening at any time of the household appliance operation. Furthermore, the mechanism has a neat appearance and can be easily adapted to different types of the household appliance front.

lock 13 mounted in the front panel of thebody 12 of the household appliance, in such a way that itsclosing arms 2 are located at the height of thepin 8 located in thestrip 9 of thedoor 11 household appliance. Closingarms 2 cooperate with thepin 8 during of opening and closing thedoor 11. In the embodiment, thelock 13 comprises arigid base 1 in the form of a bearing plate, positioning other components of thelock 13. The base has the pivotally mounted pair of closingarms 2, mounted on acommon axis 3. One of theclosing arms 2 is "S"-shaped and the other one is shaped as an inverted "S", and are mounted one on top of the other on thesame axis 3 built in thebase 1, intersecting each other in the place of mounting, in the middle of their length.Arms 2 havevertical ends 2c of the rear parts of the arms 2b, and the free parts of thefront section 2a of the closingarms 2 extending below the base of thelock 1 are the hook-shaped ends forming clamps cooperating with thepin 8 located on thedoor 11.Lock 13 has two helicalpressing springs 4, the ends of which are mounted respectively to thevertical ends 2c of the rear part 2b of theclosing arms 2 and adjacent to thearms 2 side walls 1a of thebase 1, on which they are based, while being mounted on a tongue located on this side wall 1a. These springs 4 press against theends 2c of the rear parts 2b of the closingarms 2 and cause clenching of thefront parts 2a of theclosing arms 2. Opening thearms 2 may occur as a result of rotation of thecam 5 mounted on thedrive shaft 6. Profile element is apin 8 which is an integral element in the strip of thedoor 9. Thepin 8 has a shape of a deltoid with rounded vertices, and itslong sides 8a are directed towards thebody 12 of the appliance. Closingarms 2 cooperate with thepin 8, whose shape is chosen so that at the moment of closing thedoor 11 the force required to close them is reduced, and exert a force pressing thedoor 11 to the gasket. To open thedoor 11, a threshold force is required, and thedoor 11 can be opened only after this force is exceeded. Upon the command from the control system, thecam 5 is rotated by thedrive 6 by an angle of 180°, thereby causing a temporary opening of theclosing arms 2, thereby allowing automatic opening of the door, on which in the closed position a constant force is exerted in the direction of opening. In the embodiment, this element are hinges 10 mounted on thedoor 11 between thedoor 11 and thebody 12 to allow movement of thedoor 11. - Furthermore, the lock is equipped with a
cam position sensor 7, which enables and disables thedrive 6 when thecam 5 has reached the correct angular position.
Claims (3)
- Household appliance with a door opening mechanism, consisting of a body (12) closed with a door (11), comprising a lock mounted in the household appliance body (12), a shaped element (8) located on the door (11) of the household appliance and an element that exerts a constant pressure on the closed door (11) in the direction of its opening, located between the body (12) and the door (11) of the household appliance, characterized in that the lock consists of a rigid base (1), a pair of closing arms (2), two helical pressing springs (4), whose ends are mounted respectively to the rear (2b) part of the closing arm (2) and the adjacent to the arm (2) side wall (1a) of the base (1), wherein the closing arms (2 ) are mounted pivotally on a common axle (3) built in the base (1) and are intersecting each other in the place of mounting, and at the same the free sections of the front parts (2a) of the closing arms (2) have hook-shaped ends and form a clamps extending below the base (1) of the lock, which, when closing and opening the door (11) of the household appliance, cooperate with a shaped element which is is a pin (8) being an integral part of the strip of the door (9), whereas and between the ends (2c) of the rear portions (2b) of the closing arms (2) there is a cam (5), which cam (5) is mounted on an driving shaft (6) causing the cam (5) to rotate so that during a rotation of the cam (5) by the driving shaft (6) by an angle of 180°, the closing arms 2 are temporarily opened and the pin (8) is released, and the lock also contains a cam position sensor (7), which allows the driving shaft (6) to be turned on and off after the cam (5) reaches the correct angular position.
- Household appliance with a door opening mechanism, according to claim 1, characterized in that the pin (8) has a shape of a deltoid with rounded vertices.
- Household appliance with a door opening mechanism, according to claim 2, characterized in that the pin (8) is located so that its long sides (8a) are directed towards the body (12) of the household appliance.
