Description

  • The present invention relates to an air blowing assembly comprising a radial fan with expanded air blowing area.
  • Radial fans (also referred to as centrifugal fan, squirrel cage fan or blower) are commonly used in many products which have thin body structures. Radial fans of the prior art comprise a body, an air inlet and an air blowing port provided on the body and positioned perpendicularly to each other, and a fan wheel positioned on the air inlet in the body, for blowing the air received from the air inlet through the air blowing port. In radial fans of the prior art, the proportion of the air blowing port length (a) to the body length (b) is considerably low (Figure 1). Likewise, air blowing area is considerably smaller compared to the lateral cross-section of the body. Said small blowing area causes the air blown by the fan wheel to be compressed and to collide the walls of the blowing port. Compressed air colliding the blowing port walls disrupts homogeneous air flow. Consequently, ventilation performance and noise levels of the radial fan are adversely affected.
  • Publications no. EP2405144A2 and EP2921712A1 disclose a radial fan whose blowing port length is less than body length.
  • US2002119044A1 discloses a centrifugal blower with partitioned scroll diffuser, comprising multiple flow channels.
  • The proportion of the air blowing area of conventional radial fans to the lateral cross-section of the body is increased by means of a supplementary air blowing apparatus for radial fans, of the present application. The proportion of the air blowing area to the lateral cross-section of the body is increased in the radial fan of the present application. Thus, air blown by the fan wheel is prevented from being compressed and homogeneous air flow is provided by reducing the air colliding blowing port walls. Consequently, ventilation performance of the radial fan is enhanced and its noise levels are reduced.
  • The aim of the present invention is to realize an air blowing assembly which is enabling increasing air blowing area of conventional radial fans.
  • The aim of the present invention is to realize an air blowing assembly comprising a radial fan whose air blowing area is increased with respect to its lateral cross-section.
  • An exemplary embodiment of the air blowing assembly comprisin a radial fan realized to achieve the aims of the present invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawings for a better understanding. The details of the invention should be examined considering the entirety of the specification. Wherein,
    • Figure 1 : schematically shows air flow in a radial fan of the prior art.
    • Figure 2 : is a schematic view of the radial fan in an embodiment of the invention, from above.
    • Figure 3 : shows a duct wall of the air duct comprised by the radial fan in an embodiment of the invention.
    • Figure 4 : shows air flow in the radial fan in an embodiment of the invention.
    • Figure 5 : is a sectional view of the radial fan in an embodiment of the invention, taken from main air blowing port side.
    • Figure 6 : is a sectional view of the radial fan in an embodiment of the invention, taken from supplementary air blowing port side.
  • The elements in the figures are numbered individually and the correspondence of these numbers are given hereinafter.

  • In an embodiment of the invention, air blowing area of the currently available radial fans are increased by means of a detachable supplementary air blowing apparatus. In another embodiment of the invention, An air blowing assembly is realized whose air blowing area of the radial fan is increased by means of a supplementary air blowing port. Both embodiments comprise the same inventive concept.
  • The air blowing assembly of the application is comprising a radial fan having a body (2), an air inlet (3) and a main air blowing port (4) provided on the body (2) and positioned perpendicularly to each other, a fan wheel (5) positioned on the air inlet (3) in the body (2), for blowing the air received from the air inlet (3) through at least the air blowing port (4); and comprises at least one flow separator (7) fitted into the main air blowing port (4), enabling directing a part of the air blown by the fan wheel (5) to an air duct (6) by splitting the air; at least one air duct (6) fitted on the opposite surface of the body (2) where the air inlet (3) is not present, enabling the flow separator (7) to split the air blown by the fan wheel (5) and to direct the air thereon (on the air duct (6)); and at least one supplementary air blowing port (8) positioned parallel and next to the main air blowing port (4), connected from one end to the air duct (6) and comprising another (open) end for discharging the air in the air duct (6). The supplementary air blowing apparatus comprises an air duct (6) connected to the supplementary air blowing port (8), whose portion connected to the flow separator (7) extends from the main air blowing port (4) on which it is to be fitted and bends 180° on the main air blowing port (4) on which it is fitted, then bends 180° centered about the fan wheel (5) and advances on said opposite surface on which it is fitted.
  • In an embodiment of the invention, the air blowing assembly comprises an air duct (6) connected to the supplementary air blowing port (8), whose portion connected to the flow separator (7) extends from the main air blowing port (4), bends 180° on the main air blowing port (4) on which it is fitted, then bends 180° centered about the fan wheel (5) and advances on said opposite surface on which it is fitted and then bends in an S-shape from the corner of the body (2) where the main air blowing port (4) is disposed and thus becomes aligned with the main air blowing port (4) on which it is fitted. In this embodiment of the invention, since the body (2) form/shape of conventional radial fans are maintained/kept, a conventional radial fan (1) with the supplementary air blowing apparatus of the invention fitted thereon, can be assembled directly to a seat conforming to conventional radial fans provided in systems where currently available radial fans are used.
  • In an embodiment of the invention the supplementary air blowing apparatus may have a detachable structure.
