ANNOTATION DEVICE

Field of the Invention The present invention relates to an annotation device, in particular a writing and erasing device; more particularly but not exclusively a device for riddles and which can be inserted in printed documents.

Technological background

An ever increasing number of people enjoy solving puzzles in order to exercise their mental agility. Despite the increasing digitization of many aspects of modern life, puzzles can often be included in printed materials, and are often best appreciated with paper and a pen.

When puzzles such as sudoku and crossword puzzles are included in newspapers, magazines or puzzle books, it allows potential users to access puzzles in a physical format easily, cheaply and in a way convenient.

A minor problem is that to be able to take advantage of many puzzles, it is necessary that the user has a writing instrument, namely a pen or pencil. Pens and pencils are often available in many, but not all, situations.

In addition, given the nature of the puzzle, another complication is that many users will need an eraser. Erasers are not frequently available. As a result, the user will often need to carry a pen, pencil and eraser, or a pencil and eraser combined.

Documents US 2,148,684 A (ISIDOR CHESLER) and US 1,927,142 A (DORN HORACE B VAN ET AL) teach annotation devices comprising an eraser and a writing instrument in which the eraser comprises a circular body according to a profile particular and suitable for mounting on a pen or pencil of determined length. These documents do not solve the problem of insertion into printing documents while guaranteeing an efficient configuration of use for writing and erasing.

The present invention was born to overcome the problems encountered by existing devices. Summary of the invention

According to the present invention, there is provided an annotation device comprising an eraser and a writing instrument in which the eraser comprises a circular body with two faces spaced from each other substantially the width of the instrument writing and forming a thin cylindrical section, said body extending substantially beyond the sides of the writing instrument to allow the embedding of said writing instrument between the faces, and the writing instrument projecting enough of the body to allow annotation, the device being flat and able to be inserted in magazines.

The body may include the eraser, in which the body is formed from an elastomeric material, which is degraded during erasure.

In some embodiments, the body may be substantially circular. Advantageously, this can allow the device to be used on a plurality of angles. In some embodiments, the writing instrument includes a piece of writing material such as degradable material or material, such as graphite or charcoal. The first embodiment consists of an eraser 112 with a writing instrument 2 formed by a degradable writing material such as a graphite mine 12, which is directly inserted into an opening 13 in the body of the device 1. The eraser 112 can be formed from synthetic rubber and soy-based synthetic gum, or in more expensive or specialized embodiments of vinyl, gum-like material or thermoplastic such as styrene-butadiene. With reference to FIG. 9, the body 2 of the device is configured in such a way that the user uses it as a gripping means, so that writing is facilitated during handling 1000.

In manufacturing, it can be envisaged that the eraser can be produced from rubber sheets in various colors, where information such as a magazine logo can then be printed on the eraser for a lasting result.

When the material cools, it shrinks and attaches around the writing instrument, and can create strong adhesion that should last the life of the device. In some embodiments, more than one writing instrument can be inserted into the body, for example oriented in different directions and / or comprising different writing materials.

In other embodiments the writing instrument can be configured to extend through part or all of the body, and / or for example includes a retractable tip and / or a removable cap.

In certain embodiments, the eraser body may include a different shape, for example hexagonal or the like having several corners for erasure.
