Definitions
- the invention relates to a patient interface with a coupling element for a harness.
- a harness is most commonly used to attach a patient interface (PI) to a patient or user.
- the PI therefore has coupling elements for the harness.
- PI patient interface
- the connection of the coupling element and the harness can be done by using additional clips or adapters.
- the harness can form loops that are attached directly to the coupling element.
- the different connections of the coupling element and harness are for example in the EP 2727620 A1 or the US20040045551A1 described.
- the known solutions always had only one defined coupling element for a given harness end. Due to this fixed assignment, an individual adjustment for the patient is usually not possible.
- the EP 2 818 196 A1 discloses a patient interface with a forehead support and a coupling element for a harness and four receiving means that offer different options for coupling a harness and thus form two levels.
- the EP 2 818 196 A1 has a resilient adjustment mechanism, so the forehead rest is not constructed in one piece.
- the forehead rest has a very slight inclination to the forehead of a user, which is why a plane that lies at the base of the forehead rest has a small distance to the planes of the receiving means.
- This forehead support which consists of many parts, can only be produced with great effort, is expensive and not easy to clean.
- the EP 2 954 920 A1 discloses a patient interface with a one-piece forehead support and a coupling element for a harness and receiving means that form a plane. Because the forehead rest has no adjustment function, the inclination of the forehead rest toward the forehead of a user is relatively large. A plane lying at the base of the forehead rest is therefore at a large distance from the plane of the receiving means. The solution of EP 2 954 920 A1 does not offer sufficient individual adjustment of the forehead support for the patient.
- It is therefore the object of the present invention to provide a patient interface with a coupling element for a harness indicate that an individual adjustment of the forehead support for the patient allows and at the same time can be used for a large number of patients without requiring a forehead cushion and/or an adjustment mechanism and still consists of few parts, is easy and inexpensive to produce and is easy to clean.
- the patient interface is also characterized in that the curved contour profile has an increasing radius of curvature.
- the patient interface is also characterized in that the curved contour of the receiving means 6 has an increasing radius of curvature, starting from a central region of the removing means.
- the patient interface is also characterized in that the receiving means 6 have a curved contour, with the receiving means 6 running convexly or concavely at least in sections.
- the patient interface is also characterized in that the recording means 5 and/or 6 have a curved contour which at least partially points away from the forehead of a user.
- the patient interface is also characterized in that the receiving means 5 and/or 6 have a curved contour so that the receiving means 5 and/or 6 only rest on the forehead of a user in sections, for example in the middle section.
- the patient interface is also characterized in that the two recording means are formed differently in terms of geometry.
- the patient interface is also characterized in that the receiving means are designed as a closed or slotted web.
- the patient interface is additionally characterized in that the coupling element is designed in one piece as part of a forehead support of a patient interface and the plane of symmetry S coincides with the longitudinal axis of the forehead support.
- the patient interface is also characterized in that the slotted webs 6 are arranged on the outside and the closed webs 5 are arranged further inward, closer to the plane of symmetry S, relative to the slotted webs.
- the patient interface is also characterized in that the slotted webs and the closed webs are arranged asymmetrically relative to the plane of symmetry S.
- the patient interface is also characterized in that the slotted webs and the closed webs run parallel to one another at least in sections.
- the patient interface is also characterized in that the slotted webs and/or the closed webs are skewed relative to one another and/or to the plane of symmetry S, at least in sections.
- the patient interface is also characterized in that the recording means are arranged at different distances from plane E.
- the patient interface is also characterized in that the webs are rounded or angular in cross section.
- the patient interface is also characterized in that the webs have a rough surface at least in sections.
- the patient interface is also characterized in that the slotted webs have different surfaces than the closed webs.
- the patient interface is also characterized in that the webs have holding means for the harness.
- the patient interface is alternatively or additionally characterized in that a slotted web between the two Part webs each provides an opening for the harness and opening is dimensioned so that the harness can be threaded through with its flat side.
- the patient interface is also characterized in that the two partial webs are arranged with an offset relative to one another.
- the patient interface is also characterized in that the partial webs are of different lengths.
- the patient interface is also characterized in that the partial webs have safety elements adjacent to the opening, which prevent the harness loop from slipping out of the opening.
- patient interface and breathing mask are used synonymously. Within the meaning of the invention, every interface for ventilation is included.
- the coupling element 1 for example in the form of a tab, can be made of the same flexible material as the PI.
- the coupling element is designed in one piece with the PI or is coupled in two pieces to the main body of the PI via an interface.
- the coupling element and the PI are preferably made of polycarbonate, polyethylene or similar plastics in an injection molding process.
- the coupling element can have a cushion, which is used for support on the skin of a user.
- the coupling element can also be supported directly on a user's skin.
- the coupling element can also be designed in such a way that a receiving means 5, 6 is at least partially covered with a harness end 4 and the harness therefore rests against the skin of a user.
- the coupling element can be designed in one piece as part of a forehead support.
- the coupling element 1 has at least one plane of symmetry S.
- the coupling element 1 has an imaginary plane E perpendicular to the plane of symmetry S, which runs parallel to the contact surface (forehead, for example) of a user.
- the coupling element 1 extends at least in sections angled from the plane of symmetry along the plane E with a rounded contour.
- At least four receiving means 5, 6 for a harness end 4 of a harness 3 are located at a distance from the plane of symmetry.
- the receiving means 5, 6 are arranged in pairs on both sides of the plane of symmetry S.
- the receiving means 5 is spatially adjacent to the receiving means 6 and arranged closer to the plane of symmetry S than the receiving means 6. Due to the rounded contour of the coupling element 1, the receiving means 5, 6 are at different distances from the plane E.
- the receiving means 6 is arranged closer to the plane E than the receiving means 5.
- a strap end 4 can alternatively be attached to the receiving means 5 or to the receiving means 6 on one side of the coupling element. Since the receiving means 5 is arranged closer to the plane of symmetry S than the receiving means 6, the length of the harness end 4 can be fine-tuned as a result. The receiving means 5, 6 are also at different distances from the plane E. This allows fine adjustment of the course of the harness.
- the coupling element can also be designed in one piece as part of a base body of a PI.
- the coupling element has at least four receiving means 2 for harness ends 4 of a harness 3 .
- the receiving means 2 are designed as a closed 5 or slotted web 6 .
- the Strap ends 4 are looped 7 to connect to the webs 5, 6 and fixed with Velcro 8.
- the loops 7 at least partially encompass the closed or the slotted web.
- the coupling element 1 has a plane of symmetry S from which the at least four receiving means 2 are spaced.
- the receiving means 2 can be arranged on the coupling element 1 in such a way that the closed webs 5 are arranged on the outside and the slotted webs 6 are arranged further inwards, closer to the plane of symmetry S, relative to the closed webs.
- the receiving means 2 can be arranged on the coupling element 1 in such a way that the slotted webs 6 are arranged on the outside and the closed webs 5 are arranged further inside, closer to the plane of symmetry S, relative to the slotted webs.
- the receiving means 2 can be arranged on the coupling element 1 in such a way that the slotted webs 6 and the closed webs 5 are arranged asymmetrically relative to the plane of symmetry S.
- the receiving means 2 can be arranged on the coupling element 1 in such a way that the slotted webs 6 and the closed webs 5 are arranged symmetrically relative to the plane of symmetry S.
- the receiving means 2 can be arranged on the coupling element 1 in such a way that the slotted webs 6 and the closed webs 5 run parallel to one another at least in sections.
- the receiving means 2 can be arranged on the coupling element 1 in such a way that the slotted webs 6 and the closed webs 5 have a parallel displacement at least in sections.
- Figures 3 - 5 The receiving means 2 can be arranged on the coupling element 1 in such a way that the slotted webs 6 and/or the closed webs 5 are skewed at least in sections.
- the webs 5.6 can be rounded or square in cross section.
- the webs can also have a smooth surface, for example. Alternatively, it is also provided that the webs 5.6 have a rough surface at least in sections.
- the webs 5.6 can also have holding means 10 for the harness.
- the holding means are, for example, hooks or thorns that rise only slightly above the surface.
- a slotted web 6 offers an opening 9 for the harness between the two partial webs 6a, 6b.
- the opening is preferably dimensioned in such a way that the flat side of the harness can be threaded through.
- the slotted webs 6 can have different surfaces than the closed webs 5. 6
- the slotted webs 6 can be arranged in alignment or with an offset to one another 7
- the slotted webs 6 can have partial webs of the same length or of different lengths. 8
- the partial webs can have securing elements 12 adjacent to the opening 9, which prevent the harness loop from slipping out of the opening.
- the Figures 9 to 13 show the breathing mask according to the invention.
- the breathing mask according to the invention has a modular structure.
- the mask body (14) serves as the basis of the breathing mask (13). This is designed relatively firmly, for example, as an injection molded part made of plastic.
- the forehead support (15), which ensures a secure fit of the mask on the face of a patient (not shown), and the mask bead (16), which, due to its fit and its elastic nature, ensure a tight seal of the breathing mask on the mask body (14), are attached to the mask body (14). patient cares.
- the connection piece (17) represents the connection to a hose, not shown, via which the breathing gas is transported from a respirator to the breathing mask.
- the hose is connected to the connection piece (17) by means of a sleeve (18) which is rotatably mounted on the connection piece (17).
- a sleeve (18) which is rotatably mounted on the connection piece (17).
- the forehead support (15) protrudes from the upper side of the mask bead (3).
- the clips (19) connected to the mask body (13) for connecting the straps can be seen on the sides of the breathing mask.
- the connecting piece (17) with the mounted sleeve (18) protrudes from the underside of the mask bead (16).
- a shape of the forehead rest (15) adapted to the human anatomy can be seen in one view.
- the head end of the forehead support (15) protrudes in the direction of a patient from the surface resulting from the connection with the mask body (13) in order to achieve sufficient support on the forehead of a patient without excessive tilting of the entire breathing mask.
- the base of the forehead support (13) is the forehead support connector (21) which is used to attach the forehead support (13) to the mask body.

- the mask body (30) In the case of a rotationally symmetrical design of the mask body (30), it can be connected to the forehead support (13) in precisely two positions which are offset by 180° and are functionally identical. This makes it possible to simplify the assembly of the breathing mask modules.
- connection piece (17) is designed as an angled tubular structure and has a surface contour (32) at one end, which corresponds to a partial sphere.
- This partial ball (32) is used for the flexible connection of the connection piece (17) and forehead support (13) by means of the ball cage (27) implemented in the forehead support connector (21).

The symmetry of the structure along the vertical central axis (s) can be seen. There is a clip (19) for holding the strap on both sides of the mask body (13), but an asymmetrical embodiment is also conceivable. This can be implemented, for example, by connecting the respiratory mask and retaining strap with a clip (19) on one side, while a loop and a hook are used on the other side.
You can see a triangular basic shape of the mask bead (16) and the inside of the breathing mask through the patient-side opening of the mask bead. The forehead support (15) protrudes from the upper side of the mask bead (3). The clips (19) connected to the mask body (13) for connecting the straps can be seen on the sides of the breathing mask. The connecting piece (17) with the mounted sleeve (18) protrudes from the underside of the mask bead (16).
A shape of the forehead rest (15) adapted to the human anatomy can be seen in one view. The head end of the forehead support (15) protrudes in the direction of a patient from the surface resulting from the connection with the mask body (13) in order to achieve sufficient support on the forehead of a patient without excessive tilting of the entire breathing mask.
The base of the forehead support (13) is the forehead support connector (21) which is used to attach the forehead support (13) to the mask body. A web (22) connects the forehead support connector (21) to the strap coupling (1, 23) on the head of the forehead support. The band coupling (23) consists of three recesses in the structure of the forehead rest, which are arranged horizontally next to one another and are elongated in the vertical direction. The two outer recesses each have an additional gap (9,24) in the outwardly facing structure of the forehead rest. These gaps (24) can be used to thread the retaining straps into the strap coupling (23) at a patient's forehead level. Alternatively, the tape can also be fed through the centrally positioned recess.
Other embodiments of the belt coupling (23) are also contemplated. For example, this can also be implemented by only two recesses with an additional gap (24).
In the embodiment shown, the web (22) is significantly reduced in width compared to the head part with band coupling (23) and the forehead support connector (21). This enables an attractive, slim design and material savings.
According to the invention, the forehead support connector (21) offers a number of locking teeth (25) corresponding to the positioning and number of channels present in the mask body to complete the bayonet lock applied in the mask body (1). These protrude radially outwards on the outer contour of the connecting ring (26) and each have a further tooth pointing radially outwards, which, together with the locking tooth in the mask body, is used to lock the mask body (30) and forehead support (13) in the intended position position. According to the invention, the inner contour of the forehead support connector (21) is designed as a ball cage (27) which can movably mount the connection piece (17). The ball cage (27) is delimited towards the connection piece (17) by a ring structure (28) that narrows outwards.
It can be seen that the head part of the forehead rest (13) protrudes towards a patient in relation to the forehead rest connector (21). The . The shape of the head of the forehead support (2) housing the band coupling (23) has a recess (31) which offers a space between the forehead of a patient and the band coupling (23) in the forehead support (2). The recess (31), together with the structural elements of the harness coupling, has a Y-shape when viewed from above. The course of the contour in the area of the recess (31) is rounded with one or more radii. Depending on the material of the harness coupling and the wall thickness, the Y-structure can have a Offer elasticity that allows an adaptation of the head part of the forehead support (13) relative to the patient's forehead.
In the case of a rotationally symmetrical design of the mask body (30), it can be connected to the forehead support (13) in precisely two positions which are offset by 180° and are functionally identical. This makes it possible to simplify the assembly of the breathing mask modules.
Diese Teilkugel (32) dient der beweglichen Verbindung von Anschlussstück (17) und Stirnstütze (13) mittels des im Stirnstützenverbinder (21) realisierten Kugelkäfigs (27).The connection piece (17) is designed as an angled tubular structure and has a surface contour (32) at one end, which corresponds to a partial sphere. This partial ball (32) is used for the flexible connection of the connection piece (17) and forehead support (13) by means of the ball cage (27) implemented in the forehead support connector (21).
A rotatably mounted sleeve (18) is mounted at the other end as a connection for a hose (not shown).
The forehead support connector (21) defines a first plane (40). A second plane (50) is formed by the receiving means 5 in the area where the harness is coupled to the forehead support.
