Abstract
Description
- The present disclosure relates to a transmission mechanism which can be assembled to the gas cocks of the devices that are engaged in the ignition or combustion by the liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) or natural gas (NG) source, without requiring any additional piece.
- In particular, the present disclosure relates to a transmission mechanism comprising a switch-button shaft end which is dependent on the cock movement and which transmits electrical energy to the ignition system by means of being mounted to the gas cocks of all heating and cooking devices (household and industrial type furnaces, ovens, combi boilers, etc.) operating with LPG and NG and having a manual or an electronic control.
- Nowadays, two types of switches, such as push-button and rotary switches, are used in electronic or manually operated LPG or NG based heating and cooking devices (household and industrial type furnaces, ovens, combi boilers, etc.), which provide electrical energy to the ignition unit used for the burning of gas.
- The push-button switches consist of a contact mechanism located in a body and a button shaft to which said contact mechanism is actuated, and a piece(s) to move the vertical movement of the button to the switch button, which is formed by the force exerted on the gas cock shaft connected to the gas cock shaft. The most commonly used ones of the said pieces and connections are the gasket-like structures which are mounted on a channel opened to the gas cocks shaft. Another one is the model which is used during mounting to a channel opened to the gas cock shaft, which does not use a gasket or similar connection elements, and which works in a way that fixes the button shaft to the cock shaft.
- In the literature survey, the patent application numbered TR 2001/00668 and titled as "An Electrical Switch for Gas Cocks" is found. The said invention regards an electrical switch for a lighter for gas burners, which may be connected to a gas-supply cock, and its working principle. It relates to the gas-supply cock of the invention having a maneuvering stem that is free to slide and turn about its own axis within the gas-cock body to control gas supply, the electrical switch, a shell that can be fixed to the gas-cock body to close or to open the electrical circuit of the lighter, and that may be associated with the second contact and close the second contact. However, due to the facts that it is fixed to the button shaft and its movement is restricted, it has some drawbacks.
- As a result, due to the above-mentioned drawbacks and the inadequacy of the existing solutions, an improvement in the technical field has been required.
- The present disclosure relates to a transmission mechanism that meets the above-mentioned requirements, eliminates all disadvantages and brings some additional advantages.
- The main aim of the invention is to ensure the operation of the system without any intermediary pieces between the gas cock and the switch. As a result, ease of installation and price savings are provided.
- Another aim of the invention is to present it to the user with simple and efficient use.
- Another aim of the invention is to present that the button shaft is not fixed to the gas cock shaft, thereby providing unrestricted movement.
- In order to fulfill the purposes described above, the invention is developed as a transmission mechanism in which burning device comprising a gas cock combustion gas is supplied, a switch providing ignition, a gas cook shaft which provides push movement by force applied on it for ignition and a switch button shaft which provides the related movement to be transferred to the switch, a gas cock shaft protrusion which is configured on the gas cock shaft and enables the push movement applied on the gas cock shaft to realize the contact so that the switch is actuated by the switch button shaft, a switch button shaft end formed on the switch button shaft which provides contact by transferring the push movement taken from the gas cock shaft through the gas cock shaft protrusion without the need for fixing to mentioned gas cock shaft.

-
Figure 1 shows the perspective view and assembly elements. The invention is developed for the push-button switches models. The invention is, in its simplest form, a transmission mechanism in which burning device comprising a gas cock (1) combustion gas is supplied, a switch (2) providing ignition, a gas cook shaft (3) which provides push movement by force applied on it for ignition and a switch button shaft (5) which provides the related movement to be transferred to the switch (2), a gas cock shaft protrusion (4) which is configured on the gas cock shaft (3) and enables the push movement applied on the gas cock shaft (3) to realize the contact so that the switch is actuated by the switch button shaft (5) and a switch button shaft end (6) formed on the switch button shaft (5) which provides contact by transferring the push movement taken from the gas cock shaft (3) through the gas cock shaft protrusion (4) without the need for fixing to mentioned gas cock shaft (3). - The transmission mechanism of the invention's subject matter is mounted on the gas cock (1). The switch (2) is connected to the body of the gas cock (1). The transmission mechanism is comprising of a contact mechanism located in the said switch (2), switch button shaft (5) in which enables movement of mentioned contact mechanism and the pieces that are mounted on the gas cock shaft (3) which enables the button shaft (5) to move and only the vertical movement of the gas cock shaft (3) is transferred to the switch button shaft (5) in the push direction.
- As shown in
Figure 2 , there is a gas cock shaft protrusion (4) positioned on the gas cock shaft (3). The transmission of force in the vertical direction can be achieved due to the distance of the switch button shaft end (6) to the gas cock shaft (3) is being smaller than the length of the gas cock shaft protrusion (4). As a result of the said mounting method, the movement of the gas cock shaft (3) on the vertical axis is ensured only in the direction of the movement axis to contact the curved end of switch button shaft end (6). Thus, the movement applied on the vertical axis is transmitted to the switch (2) via the switch button shaft end (6) and is contacted with the contact mechanism located in the switch (2), thereby igniting the gas. - The switch button shaft end (6), the gas cock shaft (3) which are contained by the switch button shaft (5), and the gas cock shaft protrusion (4) are not fixed to each other. The gas cock shaft (3) is independent of rotational motion. In the push direction of the vertical movement, the gas cock shaft (3) is independent as the space between the gas button shaft protrusion (4) and the curve end of the switch button shaft end (6). The gas cock shaft (3) is moving along with the motion formed after the push force in the vertical direction. The gas cock shaft (3) is completely independent in the opposite direction of the vertical movement. In the transmission mechanism of the invention, due to the fact that the switch button shaft (5) is not fixed to the gas cock shaft (3), the unrestricted movement is provided. The switch button shaft end (6) along with the switch button shaft (5) in which it is positioned on, is pushed back to its initial position following the force applied after the ignition has been disappeared. The element that provides this is the spring (7) within the switch (2). The mentioned spring (7) is shown in Figure-3.
