More clearly, according to the present invention, a cooking appliance (1) structure is proposed, having an upper lid (2) and at least one profile (3) enabling said upper lid (2) to be fixed, wherein said cooking appliance (1) further comprises a gasket (4) placed in said profile (3), inhibiting disengagement of said upper lid (2)

Description

UPPER LID CONNECTION IN A COOKING APPLIANCE
  • Technical Field of the Invention
  • The present invention relates to systems enabling fixing an upper lid provided in a cooking appliance to the body of the cooking appliance.
  • Background of the Invention/Prior Art
  • Currently, upper lids are known, provided on cooking appliances for practical usage.
  • Said upper lid is used to cover the grates when the cooking appliance is not used. Upper lids may be connected to the body of a cooking appliance in a variety of ways. A connection should enable an upper lid to be completely closed, and opened in a desired width.
  • A patent publication of technical interest which may be referred to is EP 2 957 695. Said patent publication relates to a cooking appliance having an upper panel and an upper lid connected to said upper panel by means of at least one hinge assembly thereby being movable between a closed position in which it at least partially covers the upper panel and an open position in which it is sufficiently vertical to the upper panel. In order to keep the upper lid fixed in open position, the lid comprises a fastening piece resting on the upper panel from at least one resting surface, abutting the upper lid from at least one abutment surface sufficiently vertical to said resting surface.
  • On the other hand, the other deficiencies to be addressed in cooking appliance upper lids are disengagement of the glass material and the profile, the inability to connect the hinges with the glass material, protection of the connection pieces, and centering the positions.
  • In other terms, the system proposed according to the present invention relates to improving the connection between an upper lid and a cooking appliance body.
  • Objects of the Invention
  • The primary object of the invention relates to connecting an upper lid to a cooking appliance body.
  • Another object of the present invention is to maintain the durable structure of the connection between an upper lid and a cooking appliance body.
  • A further object of the present invention is to enable centering the positions during fixing the glass by means of a connection piece.
  • Brief Description of the Figures
  • A product realized to achieve the aim of the present invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawings, and brief descriptions of these drawings are provided below.
  • In interpreting the protection scope of the invention, the technical drawings appended to the present specification shall not be used singly without consulting the specification. On the other hand, the appended technical drawings should be used not to determine and delimit but to interpret the protection scope of the present invention described in the claims.
  • Unless otherwise specified, the appended figures do not designate the absolute dimensions of the invention and the proportions of mutual parts do not exactly reflect the original product.
  • Figure 1 is a general view of a cooking appliance provided according to the present invention.
  • Figure 2 is a view of the profile disposed in the cooking appliance provided according to the present invention.
  • Detailed Description of the Invention
  • The parts displayed in the figures incorporated to the specification for a better understanding of the invention, are individually numbered, and the description of each numbered part is given below.
  • 1) Cooking appliance
  • 2) Upper lid
  • 3) Profile
  • 4) Gasket
  • 5) Silicone
  • 6) Silicone channel
  • In general, a cooking appliance (1) according to the invention comprises units enabling connecting an upper lid (2), a profile (3), and a gasket (4).
  • Figure 1 shows the profiles (3) placed on the cooking appliance (1), the gaskets (4) provided on the profiles (3) and the upper lid (2). At least one profile (3) is provided to enable connecting said upper lid (2) to the body of the cooking appliance (1). By means of said profile (3), said upper lid (2) can be moved by being rotated about the profile (3) axis, so as to completely cover the grade or to open in a desired angle. Said profiles (3) can be placed above or behind the stove section.
  • As can be seen in Figure 2, joining is enabled by engagingly grouping a preferably silicone gasket (4) to the inner portion of the profile (3) which is preferably made of aluminum.
  • The upper lid (2) which is preferably glass, is slid into the lip portion of the profile (3). Tabs extending oppositely to the movement direction of the glass are provided on the surface of the gasket (4) provided in said profile (3), contacting the upper lid (2). When the upper lid (2) is mounted, the tabs compress the upper lid (2) by being squeezed, and when the upper lid (2) moves in a removal direction, it is prevented from being removed from the profile (3) thanks to the tab direction.
  • Silicone (5) is filled into the silicone gap provided in the lip by pumping silicone (5) through a silicone channel (6) provided in the lower region of said profile (3), after connecting the profile (3) to the upper lid (2). Said filling of silicone (5) is enabled to be homogeneous for each part by means of automation machines. Silicone (5) is pumped after connecting the profile (3) with gasket to the upper lid (2). The upper lid (2) is completely fixed to the profile (3) upon drying of said silicone (5).
  • In an embodiment of the invention, a cooking appliance (1) is proposed comprising an upper lid (2) and at least one profile (3) enabling said upper lid (2) to be fixed.
  • According to another embodiment of the invention, a gasket (4) is placed in said profile (3), inhibiting disengagement of said upper lid (2).
  • According to another embodiment of the invention, said gasket (4) comprises tabs on the surface contacting said upper lid (2), oriented oppositely to the movement direction of the upper lid (2).
  • According to another embodiment of the invention, said gasket (4) is made of silicone.
  • According to another embodiment of the invention, said profile (3) is made of aluminum.
  • According to another embodiment of the invention, said profile (3) comprises a silicone channel (6) enabling filling silicone (5) therein.
  • In conclusion, the main advantage provided by the present invention lies in the connection system used to enable the upper lids (2) used in cooking appliances, to be connected to said cooking appliances.
