- the antenna can have several forms. There are antennas formed directly by conductive tracks extending on the support plate. This however increases the bulk of the support plate. There are also separate antennas connected to the conductive tracks of the support plate via a connector and electronic cables. This complicates the manufacture of the electronic circuit and requires a provision for fixing the antenna in a housing housing the electronic circuit.
- An object of the invention is to provide a means for simplifying the manufacture of electronic circuits antenna without increasing the size.
- an antenna comprising a fixing body carrying an electrically conductive circuit having at least one signal input section and a radiating section, the fixing body comprising two positioning parts delimiting between they a passage dimensioned to receive an edge of a printed circuit support plate, the input section being carried by one of the positioning parts to extend opposite a face of said support plate and the body comprising means for clamping the support plate against at least one of the positioning parts.
- the antenna is arranged to be attached to an edge of the printed circuit board, which limits the antenna footprint on the printed circuit board and the connection to the printed circuit can be made in a simple manner from the inlet section which extends opposite a face of said plate.
- the clamping means comprise an elastically deformable portion connecting at least one of the positioning parts to the rest of the body to return said positioning portion to a position in which the passage has a width less than a thickness of the support plate.
- This method of attachment is particularly simple since the clamping force is only the result of the elasticity of the fixing body without using external clamping means.
- the input section is positioned to establish an electromagnetic coupling with an electrically conductive track of the support plate.
- This mode of connection is simple to manufacture and not very fragile.
- the antenna circuit comprises two contacts mounted in one of the positioning parts to have one end extending elastically projecting from said positioning part facing the other positioning part to form two entrance sections.
