- the flushing valve can usually be adjusted by means of a servomotor which is coupled to the control line.
- the flushing device is also adapted to the water pressure-dependent control of the flushing.
- Controlling the flushing in the context of the present invention is understood to mean, in particular, the opening and closing of the flushing valve.

- the control element usually includes an element that changes a position or a state depending on the pressure or quantitatively measures the pressure.
- a water pressure that is lower than the water pressure with the water system connected to the water supply and closed consumer valves and closed flush valve is to be understood as a lowered water pressure; that is, with standing water in the connected water system.
- Certain pressure fluctuations for example caused by minor leaks, usually do not lead to a noticeable drop in water pressure.
- a reduced water pressure of the water system is to be understood as such a reduced water pressure caused by a tapping process by a consumer, which no longer ensures adequate supply to other extraction points.
- the absolute value for a lowered pressure is different depending on the extraction point considered. Usually it is 2 bar, 1 bar or 0.5 bar. For the consumer in question, the pressure should not fall below the minimum flow pressure, which can be viewed as a criterion for suspending flushing.
- the flushing device according to this invention is particularly suitable for use in laboratories and manufacturing plants in which people can come into contact with splashing, caustic or hot chemicals and can clean themselves with the aid of a safety shower. In this way, it can be prevented that an additional flushing process is triggered during an emergency and the operation of the safety shower, which would lead to an undersupply of the safety shower.
- the flushing device has a mechanically pretensioned check valve upstream of the flushing valve in the flow direction as a control element, which opens in the direction of the flushing valve.
- the non-return valve is usually preloaded in such a way that it remains in a closed position when the water pressure of the water system is reduced, so that water from the water system does not reach the flush valve. In this way it can be ensured in a simple manner that flushing does not take place when the pressure of the water system is reduced.
- the flushing device has a pressure sensor upstream of the flushing valve as a control element and a control unit that communicates with the pressure sensor and is connected to the flushing valve in terms of control, the control unit being set up in such a way that the flushing valve is activated on the basis of a signal from the pressure sensor is switched off or blocked.

- Pressure switches are mechanical or electronic switches that are actuated by changing the pressure of a gaseous or liquid medium.
- the most common implementation of a mechanical pressure switch has a metal membrane that closes a switch contact when a certain deflection occurs and the deflection is pressure-dependent. When the switching contact closes, a signal is sent to the control unit.
- the flushing valve is moved from the closed position to the open position by the control device by means of a control line posed.
- the control device can temporarily disconnect the control line from the power supply.
- a mechanical blocking element that can be controlled by the control unit is also conceivable, which fixes the position of the flush valve in the closed position.
- the flushing device according to the present invention has both a pressure switch and a pressure measuring device.
- the flushing device has means for coupling the position of a valve assigned to a consumer to the position of the flushing valve, the coupling being designed such that opening the valve assigned to the consumer causes the flushing valve to close.
- the coupling is preferably designed electronically.
- a mechanical coupling is also conceivable.
- the present invention specifies a drinking and service water system with a connection to the public water supply network, a water line leading to at least one consumer and a flushing device according to claim 1, wherein the flushing valve of the flushing device is downstream of the consumer in the direction of flow.
- the drinking and service water system is provided in a residential, industrial or office building, hospital or hotel.
- the drinking and service water system according to the invention can be provided in a laboratory or a manufacturing plant.
- the control device of the drinking and service water system according to the present invention is set up in such a way that flushing does not take place when the water pressure in the water line is reduced. Furthermore, the drinking and service water system according to the present invention is preferably designed according to one or more of these developments discussed in connection with the flushing device.
- the Fig. 1a shows a drinking and service water system with a connection 2 to the public water supply network, via which a supply line 4 is fed with fresh water, preferably cold water.
- a supply line 4 is fed with fresh water, preferably cold water.
- Two consumers are connected to the supply line 4, which in the exemplary embodiments are implemented as an emergency shower 6a for the entire body and an eye shower 6b.
- a rinsing valve 8 is arranged downstream of the last consumer in the flow direction, ie the eye shower 6b in the flow direction, with the aid of which water standing in the supply line 4 can be drained and fresh water flows in via the connection 2.
- the flush valve leads off via a free drain 10 into a sewer line.
- the free drain 10 includes a fall section that is in direct connection with the ambient atmosphere, so that the legal requirements for the separation of drinking water and waste water or service water are met.
- the flushing valve 8 is coupled to a control unit 22 via a control line 24, with a time module being integrated into the control unit 22, which causes the control unit 22 to close the flushing valve 8 for a flushing process by means of a servomotor 28 coupled to the control line 24 at certain times to open.
- a sensor 30 is provided in the supply line 4 and is connected to the control unit 22 for signal transmission.
- the sensor 30 can be a temperature or flow rate sensor.
- a plurality of sensors, in particular at least one water temperature sensor and at least one flow rate sensor, can of course also be provided.
- the measured values of the sensor or the sensors are evaluated in the control unit 22 and flow into the control of the flushing valve 8. For example, in the case of a measured temperature rise, the time intervals between the time modules specified flushing processes can be shortened or increased in the event of a measured increase in the flow rate.

- the check valve 12 is shown in the enlarged illustration of the circled detail D of the drinking and service water system in Figure 1b can be seen in which a valve seat 14 and a spring-loaded valve body 16 are shown schematically.
- the spring preload is set in such a way that when the emergency shower 6a or the eye shower 6b is open and the water pressure in the supply line 4 is reduced, the valve body 16 rests against the valve seat 14. In this case, no flushing process takes place even if the flushing valve 8 should open by appropriate control of the control unit 22.
- valve body 16 is pressed into an open position by the water pressure in the supply line 4 against the spring force, so that by opening the flushing valve 8 by appropriate control of the control unit 22 an exchange of in the supply line 4 standing water is possible.
- a shut-off valve for maintenance purposes with which the area downstream of the valve 18 can be depressurized, is identified by reference numeral 18.
- the Fig. 2 shows a further embodiment of a drinking and service water system according to the present invention. Same components as in Fig. 1 are marked with the same reference numerals.
- a mechanical pressure switch 20 is provided. This is arranged in an area between the last consumer in the flow direction, ie the eye shower 6b, and the flushing valve 8 and is exposed to the water pressure in this area. A reduced water pressure in this area affects the deflection of, for example, a metallic membrane within the pressure switch 20, which thereby closes an electrical contact in the pressure switch 20, whereupon a signal is sent to the control unit 22.
- the control unit 22 which is connected to the flushing valve 8 for control purposes via the control line 24, controls the flushing valve 8 into the closed position after receiving the signal and / or disconnects the control line 24 from the power supply in order to keep the flushing valve 8 in the closed position or blocks the flushing valve 8 in the closed position, for example with the help of a mechanical blocking element.
- the Fig. 3 shows a further embodiment of a drinking and service water system according to the present invention.

- the pressure measuring device records the pressure in this area quantitatively and sends the measurement signals to the control unit 22.
- Various pressure measuring devices are known to those skilled in the art which are suitable for measuring a water pressure in a line and of which at least one is used in the exemplary embodiment.
- the control unit 22 evaluates the measurement signals with the help of an integrated logic, usually compares the measurement variables with a preset reference value and moves the flush valve 8 to the closed position at a reduced pressure and / or disconnects the control line 24 from the power supply to the flush valve 8 to be left in the closed position or locks the flush valve 8 in the closed position, for example with the aid of a mechanical blocking element.

Description
The previously known flushing device is connected to a drinking and service water system which has a connection to the public water supply network, for example in the basement of a building. Several supply lines for supplying various water consumers within the building are fed with fresh water via this connection. If water is not drawn by a consumer, stale water in the supply lines can be replaced by opening a flush valve and fresh water flowing in from the water supply network. Such an exchange of stale water is commonly referred to as a flushing or flushing process. The water flowing out of the water system via the flush valve is diverted into a sewer line. The flushing valve is provided at one end of the supply line or supply lines and is connected in terms of control to a central control device. In particular, the position of the flush valve can be controlled by the central control device by means of a control line. Automated flushing processes can be programmed using a time module integrated in the central control device. In addition, a water temperature measured by a temperature sensor can be transmitted to the central control device. The period of the wash cycles can be adjusted depending on the measured temperature. In addition, a flow sensor can be provided that measures the flow rate determined on the basis of which the central control device decides whether a flushing process is necessary. A leak can be detected using a pressure sensor. The central control device then shuts off the water system from the public water supply network and empties the system by keeping the flush valve in the open position.
If a drinking water pipe remains unused for a longer period of time, the temperature of the standing water in it adjusts to the ambient temperature. A thermal equilibrium is established between the environment and the drinking water pipe. Depending on the type of installation, the relevant ambient temperature for the drinking water pipe is well above room temperature, and it is precisely in this area that the formation of germs such as legionella is favored. Rinsing the drinking water line is then necessary with a view to drinking water hygiene.
The prior art provides room for improvement in terms of flushing efficiency.
It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a flushing device that enables efficient flushing and with which the hygienic requirements for a drinking water system can be met.
To solve this problem, the present invention specifies a flushing device with the features of claim 1.
The flushing device according to the invention is also adapted to the water pressure-dependent control of the flushing. Controlling the flushing in the context of the present invention is understood to mean, in particular, the opening and closing of the flushing valve. However, a decision about not opening or blocking the flushing valve under certain circumstances is generally to be regarded as a control in the sense of the invention. A means is preferably provided which, under certain water pressure conditions in the system, prevents water from flowing out of the system via the flushing valve, even if it opens.
Thus, a drinking and service water system can be flushed as efficiently as possible with the aid of the flushing device according to the invention. In the flushing device according to the invention, flushing is omitted if a consumer's tapping process becomes noticeable through a change in the water pressure in the system. A fluctuation in the water pressure due to flushing during consumption, which may lead to a loss of comfort for the consumer, can thus be avoided.
According to the present invention, the control device has a mechanical, hydraulic and / or electronic control element and controls the flushing in such a way that flushing is omitted when the control element perceives a reduced water pressure in the water system. The control element usually includes an element that changes a position or a state depending on the pressure or quantitatively measures the pressure. As a rule, a water pressure that is lower than the water pressure with the water system connected to the water supply and closed consumer valves and closed flush valve is to be understood as a lowered water pressure; that is, with standing water in the connected water system. Certain pressure fluctuations, for example caused by minor leaks, usually do not lead to a noticeable drop in water pressure. As a rule, therefore, a reduced water pressure of the water system is to be understood as such a reduced water pressure caused by a tapping process by a consumer, which no longer ensures adequate supply to other extraction points. The absolute value for a lowered pressure is different depending on the extraction point considered. Usually it is 2 bar, 1 bar or 0.5 bar. For the consumer in question, the pressure should not fall below the minimum flow pressure, which can be viewed as a criterion for suspending flushing.
The flushing device according to this invention is particularly suitable for use in laboratories and manufacturing plants in which people can come into contact with splashing, caustic or hot chemicals and can clean themselves with the aid of a safety shower. In this way, it can be prevented that an additional flushing process is triggered during an emergency and the operation of the safety shower, which would lead to an undersupply of the safety shower.
According to a preferred development of the present invention, the flushing device has a mechanically pretensioned check valve upstream of the flushing valve in the flow direction as a control element, which opens in the direction of the flushing valve. The non-return valve is usually preloaded in such a way that it remains in a closed position when the water pressure of the water system is reduced, so that water from the water system does not reach the flush valve. In this way it can be ensured in a simple manner that flushing does not take place when the pressure of the water system is reduced.
According to a further preferred development of the present invention, the flushing device has a pressure sensor upstream of the flushing valve as a control element and a control unit that communicates with the pressure sensor and is connected to the flushing valve in terms of control, the control unit being set up in such a way that the flushing valve is activated on the basis of a signal from the pressure sensor is switched off or blocked. The control unit is preferably part of the control device. The pressure sensor is preferably designed as a pressure switch or a pressure measuring device that quantitatively detects the water pressure.
The control unit usually contains logic for evaluating signals and issuing control commands. Pressure switches are mechanical or electronic switches that are actuated by changing the pressure of a gaseous or liquid medium. The most common implementation of a mechanical pressure switch has a metal membrane that closes a switch contact when a certain deflection occurs and the deflection is pressure-dependent. When the switching contact closes, a signal is sent to the control unit. As is known from the prior art, the flushing valve is moved from the closed position to the open position by the control device by means of a control line posed. The control device can temporarily disconnect the control line from the power supply. To block the flush valve, a mechanical blocking element that can be controlled by the control unit is also conceivable, which fixes the position of the flush valve in the closed position.
More preferably, the flushing device according to the present invention has both a pressure switch and a pressure measuring device.
According to a further preferred development of the present invention, the flushing device has means for coupling the position of a valve assigned to a consumer to the position of the flushing valve, the coupling being designed such that opening the valve assigned to the consumer causes the flushing valve to close. The coupling is preferably designed electronically. However, a mechanical coupling is also conceivable.
In this way, an undersupply of an emergency shower can be counteracted.
In a secondary aspect, the present invention specifies a drinking and service water system with a connection to the public water supply network, a water line leading to at least one consumer and a flushing device according to claim 1, wherein the flushing valve of the flushing device is downstream of the consumer in the direction of flow. As a rule, the drinking and service water system is provided in a residential, industrial or office building, hospital or hotel. In particular, the drinking and service water system according to the invention can be provided in a laboratory or a manufacturing plant.
The control device of the drinking and service water system according to the present invention is set up in such a way that flushing does not take place when the water pressure in the water line is reduced. Furthermore, the drinking and service water system according to the present invention is preferably designed according to one or more of these developments discussed in connection with the flushing device.
