Abstract

The subject matter of the invention is a shaped ring nut dedicated to bolt connections used to connect machine and device elements. According to the invention, the essence of the solution lies in the fact that on one side on the frontal surface, the nut has an additional ring of any external shape allowing the elimination of the degree of freedom being the rotation of the nut around its own axis. An additional ring of any shape is installed in a shaped hole made in one of the connected elements. The outer shape of the additional ring is any regular polygon, in particular a triangle, a quadrangle, a pentagon, a hexagon, an irregular polygon, a star polygon or the outer shape of the additional ring is any oval.

Description

Shaped ring nut
The subject matter of the invention is a shaped ring nut dedicated to bolt connections used to connect machine and device elements.
There exist solutions for bolt connections using typical nuts without shaped elements in which the rotation is locked with wrenches.
There is invention DE3147615, in which the nut has a round conical collar. The nut in the hole is fixed before mounting by pressing it in the hole.
There also exist solutions for connecting elements made of sheets or plates, in which the nut is permanently installed by being pressed or welded in a circular hole made in a sheet or plate.
The object of the invention is to provide a shaped ring nut that prevents rotation of the nut, wherein the shaped ring has any shape (non-rounded), which allows to eliminate the degree of freedom being the rotation of the nut around its own axis. According to the invention, the nut can be part of bolt connections used for connecting machine components and devices.
According to the invention, the essence of the solution lies in the fact that on one side on the frontal surface, the nut has an additional ring of any external shape allowing the elimination of the degree of freedom being the rotation of the nut around its own axis. During assembly, an additional ring of any shape is installed in a shaped hole made in one of the connected elements.
It is preferable if the outer shape of the additional ring is polygonal, in particular a quadrangle, a triangle, a regular polygon or an irregular polygon or a star polygon.
In other variant, it is preferable if the outer shape of the additional ring is any oval.
Preferably the nut with an integrated shape ring can have an additional plastic ring placed inside to protect the connection against self-loosening.
Additionally, in another embodiment, it is beneficial if the outer surface of the ring is inclined, as it allows tight installation of the nut in the shaped hole. The height of the additional ring is smaller than the thickness of the connected element.
The following technical and operational results have been obtained by using the solution according to the invention:
· no need to use a wrench to block the rotation of the nut,
• the possibility of using the solution in hard-to-reach places,
• no need to use additional elements protecting against self-loosening,
• assembly with one hand. The subject matter of the solution is shown in the drawing, where fig. 1 shows the isometric view from the side of the collar, fig. 2 shows a side view, fig. 3 shows the view and cross-section of the solution with an inclined surface, fig. 4 shows isometric view of an example of application, fig. 5-11 shows exemplary shapes of the outer ring, fig. 12-13 shows examples of how to insert the nut in the hole.
The nut shown in the drawing is shaped in such a way that, on one side of the frontal face 1, it has an additional ring 2 of any external shape 3 permitting the elimination of the degree of freedom being the rotation of the nut around its own axis. The height h of the ring is smaller than the height of the connected element in which the nut is installed.
There are embodiments where the outer shape 3 of the additional ring 2 is any regular polygon, especially a triangle (fig. 5), a quadrangle (fig. 6), a pentagon (fig. 7), a hexagon (fig. 8), an irregular polygon (fig. 9) or a star polygon (fig. 10).
In other embodiment, it is beneficial if the outer shape of the additional ring
2 is oval (fig. 11).
In another embodiment, the shaped nut with integrated shaped ring 2 can have an additional plastic ring placed inside to protect the connection against self- loosening. There is a variant, where the outer surface of the ring 2 is inclined, which allows tight installation of the nut in the shaped hole.
Connecting machine and device elements with a nut according to the invention consists in having at least two connected layers 6 with holes made, while in the last layer a shaped hole 7 is made in a shape corresponding to the shape of the shaped ring 2 of the nut, in which the nut with an additional shaped ring 2 will be installed. Then, in the hole made from the connection of bolted elements, a bolt is placed and in the last layer a nut with an additional shaped ring is placed in the shaped hole.
To facilitate installing of the nuts in the shaped hole, it is beneficial to perform additional notches in the element in which the nut is installed, as presented in fig. 12-13.
