Description

A VERTICAL STRIKING ELEMENT FOR A LEAF OF A PLASTIC CABINET
DESCRIPTION
The present invention relates to a vertical striking element for a leaf of a plastic cabinet.
As known, plastic assemblable cabinets of this type must satisfy the ever-greater specific needs of the market, among which load capacity, conformational stability, flexibility of adaptation to use in spaces of various shapes and sizes, and not least, water tight capability.
In general, in the sector of plastic assemblable cabinets of this type, the producer provides a series of cabinets in kit form with components for cabinets of different dimensions.
The buyer, depending on the space available for the installation, chooses the cabinet in kit form that is most suited to its needs.
In particular, the striking elements of the leaves may not only be of different sizes, but are also differentiated into right and left doors.
In order to not excessively complicate the organisational, management and strategic activities, the producer can thus be forced to offer a limited kit range for each product line with the consequence that the customer is not always presented with a range of products that is sufficiently broad from which to choose.
Therefore, the task of the present invention is to obviate the drawbacks of the prior art mentioned above.
Within the scope of this task, an aim of the invention is to provide a production system of plastic assemblable cabinets with leaves having striking elements which enable increasing the choice available for the buyer without complicating the producer's logistics.
A further aim of the present invention is to realise a striking element for a leaf of a plastic assemblable cabinet which improves the water tight without any structural complications.
A further aim of the present invention is to realise a plastic assemblable cabinet with leaves with a striking element that is sturdy, stable, easy to transport and mount.
The set task, as well as these and other objects according to the present invention, are attained by a structurally independent vertical striking element for a leaf of a plastic cabinet, characterised in that it comprises a first and a second wall, located on different vertical planes and a vertical third wall for connection between adjacent vertical edges of said first and second wall, said first, second and third wall providing, in combination, a vertical symmetrical striking surface for 180° rotation around a vertical median axis of said third wall.
Said first and second wall are preferably flat and parallel and said third wall is flat and oblique with respect to said first and second wall.
Said element preferably includes a housing for joint-fitting with said leaf body delimited by said first wall, said third wall and a prolongation of said second wall towards said first wall.
Said second wall preferably has strengthening ribs.
Said strengthening ribs are preferably positioned by the side of said striking surface. Said second wall preferably has a perimeter frame having a uniform thickness which circumscribes said strengthening ribs.
Further stiffening ribs connecting said prolongation of said second wall to said third wall preferably present in said housing. Said further stiffening ribs preferably have an abutment wall which delimits a joint groove for the leaf body in the housing.
Preferably inside said housing said element supports joint-fitting bushings with said leaf body.
Said bushings preferably have a hole open on said inclined wall.
A fastening screw of said bushing is preferably engaged in said hole to said leaf body.
Said first, second and third wall preferably have a uniform and identical thickness for all three walls.
Advantageously for the producer, a universal striking element can be included for each product line, universal and valid for installation on either a right leaf or a left door.
Further, the elements of the two leaves have striking surfaces that are very large and perfectly matching so as to form a water tight that is extremely effective.
Further characteristics and advantages will become more apparent from the detailed description of the plastic cabinet according to the invention, illustrated by way of non-limiting example in the appended figures, wherein:
figures la and lb show a perspective view of the vertical striking element according to the invention;
figure lc shows a transverse section view of the vertical striking element according to the invention;
figure 2 shows a perspective view of the cabinet in horizontal cross section with the two leaves lightly closed and having a vertical striking element according to the invention; figure 3 shows a view from above of a detail of the cabinet in cross section of figure 2 with the two leaves ajar and having a vertical element according to the invention; figure 4 shows a view from above of a detail of the cabinet in cross section of figure 2 with the two leaves closed and having a vertical striking element according to the invention;
figure 5 shows an exploded view of the two leaves having a vertical striking element according to the invention;
figures 6 and 7 show the cabinet with different internal arrangements;
figure 8 shows the cabinet with the leaves ajar.
With reference to the figures, a plastic assemblable cabinet is illustrated, generally denoted with numerical reference 1, comprising two flanks 2, 2, a bottom 3, a base 4, a top 5, two leaves 6, 6 and possibly a series of shelves 7 dividing up the internal space of the cabinet 1.
One or more constituent elements of the cabinet 1, for example the leaves 6, 6, the flanks 2 and the bottom 3 can be formed by assemblable modules so as to make the shape and dimension of the cabinet customisable according to the available space and the needs of the user.
Each leaf 6 comprises a leaf body 9 and a structurally independent vertical striking element 10 applied to the leaf 9 body.
The striking element 10 comprises a first wall 11 and a second wall 12, located on different vertical planes and a vertical third wall 13 for connection between adjacent vertical edges 1 1 ', 12' of the first and second wall 11, 12.
In particular the first and second wall 11, 12 are flat and parallel and said third wall 13 is flat and oblique with respect to said first and second wall 1 1, 12. The three walls 11, 12, 13 are more precisely all flat walls having a rectangular shape and having two opposite sides orientated in the direction of the width L of the element 10 and two opposite sides orientated in the vertical longitudinal direction H of the element 10.
The first, second and third wall 11, 12, 13 advantageously provide, in combination, a vertical symmetrical striking surface 18 for 180° rotation about a vertical median axis P of said third wall 13.
The first wall 1 1 and the second wall 12 thus have a same width.
Two entirely identical elements 10 rotate by 180° can advantageously be applied each to a corresponding leaf 6.
It is therefore not necessary according to the invention to differentiate the striking element 10 for the right leaf 6 from the striking element 10 for the left leaf 6.
When the two leaves 6 are closed, the two striking surfaces 18 match perfectly.
In particular the first wall 11 of a leaf 6 match the second wall 12 of the leaf 6, and the third wall of a leaf 6 match the third wall of the other leaf 6.
The uniform contact of the two elements 10 along an extended striking surface 18 guarantees an effective water tight.
The striking element 10 further has a housing 14 for the joint- fitting with said leaf body 9 delimited by said first wall 11, the third wall 13 and a prolongation 12a of the second wall 12 towards the first wall 11.
The free vertical longitudinal edge 16 of the first wall 11 and the free vertical longitudinal edge 17 of the prolongation 12a of the second wall 12 are aligned at a distance in the direction of the thickness S of the element 10 and delimit the access way to the housing 14. The second wall 12 has strengthening ribs 19.
The strengthening ribs 19, for example of a reticular type, are positioned on the side of the second wall 12 of the element 10 which strikes against the first wall 11 of the other element 10.
In this way the strengthening ribs 19 are concealed from view when the leaves 6 are closed.
To stiffen the second wall 12 without creating preferential pathways for water, the second wall 12 has a perimeter frame 20 which circumscribes said strengthening ribs 19.
The frame 20 has a thickness that is equal to or in any case not smaller than the thickness of the strengthening ribs 19.
Further stiffening ribs 21 are present in said housing 14, connecting the oblique wall 13 to the prolongation 12a of said second wall 12.
These further stiffening ribs 21 are formed by a series of distanced flat blades which extend along parallel transversal planes of the element 10.
The further stiffening ribs 21 also have an abutment wall 22 which delimits a joint groove in the housing 14 for the door body 9.
The element 10 also have joint-fitting bushings 23 for joint-fitting with the leaf body 9 inside the housing 14.
The bushings 23 engage with special pins 24 present on the longitudinal edge of the body leaf 9 specially headed to carry out a form coupling with the joint groove present in the housing 14.
Some joint bushings 23 have a hole 25 that passes through the whole thickness of the inclined wall 13 of the element 10. A fastening screw 26 of the joint bushing 23 to the corresponding pin 24 is engaged in the hole 25.
The joint of the longitudinal edge of the leaf body 9 in the groove inside the housing 14 in combination with the joint-of the pins 24 in the bushings 23 and the fastening of the screws 26 ensures the necessary stability of the coupling of the element 10 to the leaf body 9.
The first wall 11, the second wall 12 and the inclined third wall 13 advantageously have a uniform and identical thickness in order to eliminate the onset of undesirable deformations due to localised shrinkage of material during the post-moulding cooling of the element.
As can be seen in figures 6 and 7, the internal part of the cabinet can have different arrangements.
In figures 6 and 7, the shelf 7 has an opening 27 which extends up to a perimeter side of the shelf 7 and can have a removable occluding element 8 of the opening 13.
The shelf 7 can assume the use configuration illustrated in figure 6 in which the perimeter side having the opening 27 is positioned in the front and the occluding element 8 is removed from the opening 27. This use configuration can be adopted in order to be able to vertically house in the cabinet objects that are longitudinally bulky, such as brooms and the like, with an ensuing reduction of the rest surface offered by the shelf 7. The shelf 7 in this case is perimetrally supported on the lateral and posterior sides thereof, but also by an upright 28.
The shelf 7 can also assume the use configuration rotated by 180° illustrated in figure 7, in which the perimeter side with the opening 27 is positioned in the back and is supported, while the occluding element 8 is positioned in the opening 27. The cabinet 1 can have, as illustrated, a construction in the form of assemblable modules.
In particular, each component 9, 10 of the leaf 6 can be formed in various connected modules.
For example, leaf body 9 is subdivided in height into various modules 9' having different heights connected mechanically in vertical succession among themselves by appropriate joint fittings 9".
The element 10 can be made of longitudinal modules 10' which are simply abutting or are mechanically connected to one another in vertical succession, for example by sliding guides (not shown).
By varying the modules, it is possible to customise the capacity, form and appearance of the cabinet 1.
The invention advantageously enables flexibly adapting the offer to the needs of the consumer while significantly simplifying the logistics of the producer and providing a sturdy, stable and perfectly water tight product.
