Table 2 lists the results obtained together with the expected and measured values of the ratio of phenol:tar and cresols:tar. The quoted expected values are based on an anticipated linear relationship between the values obtained from the acetate and paper controls. It can be seen that the all five samples unexpectedly gave measured ratios lower than expected. Filters A, B and C gave particularly selective filtration of phenol.

Claims (14)

  1. Filtre ou élément de filtre à fumée de tabac comprenant une bande cohérente comprenant un premier matériau de filtre et un deuxième matériau de filtre et, optionnellement, un ou plusieurs matériaux de filtre supplémentaires ; dans lequel le premier matériau de filtre comprend une étoupe d'acétate de cellulose ; et le deuxième matériau de filtre comprend un papier ayant des plis de papier ; dans lequel l'étoupe d'acétate de cellulose remplit des petites rainures dans les plis de papier dudit papier du deuxième élément de filtre.

  6. Filtre ou élément de filtre à fumée de tabac selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes, dans lequel la quantité de premier matériau de filtre dans la bande cohérente est de 20 à 80 % en poids de la bande cohérente.
  7. Filtre ou élément de filtre à fumée de tabac selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes, dans lequel la quantité de deuxième matériau de filtre dans la bande cohérente est de 20 à 80 % en poids de la bande cohérente.
  8. Filtre ou élément de filtre à fumée de tabac selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes, dans lequel l'un ou plusieurs du premier, deuxième ou matériaux de filtre supplémentaires comprennent un agent modificateur de fumée.
  9. Filtre ou élément de filtre à fumée de tabac selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes, comprenant en outre un additif granulaire.
  10. Filtre ou élément de filtre à fumée de tabac selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes, ayant une dureté de 85 % ou plus.
  11. Procédé de production d'un filtre ou élément de filtre à fumée de tabac comprenant aligner face à face une bande d'un premier matériau de filtre et une bande d'un deuxième matériau de filtre (et, optionnellement, une ou plusieurs bandes supplémentaires comprenant chacune un matériau de filtre supplémentaire) ; et combiner les bandes alignées face à face en une bande cohérente ; dans lequel le premier matériau de filtre comprend une étoupe d'acétate de cellulose ; et le deuxième matériau de filtre comprend un papier ; dans lequel l'étoupe d'acétate de cellulose remplit des petites rainures dans les plis de papier dudit papier du deuxième matériau de filtre.
  12. Cigarette filtre comprenant un filtre selon l'une quelconque des revendications 1 à 10 ; ou un filtre qui comprend un élément de filtre selon l'une quelconque des revendications 1 à 10 ; ou un filtre fabriqué par le procédé selon la revendication 11 ; ou un filtre qui comprend un élément de filtre fabriqué par le procédé selon la revendication 11 ; le filtre étant joint à un boudin de tabac gainé avec une extrémité vers le tabac.
  13. Bâtonnet de longueur multiple comprenant une pluralité de filtres ou d'éléments de filtre selon les revendications 1 à 10 joints bout à bout.
  14. Utilisation d'une bande cohérente comprenant un premier matériau de filtre et un deuxième matériau de filtre et, optionnellement, un ou plusieurs matériaux de filtre supplémentaires, ou bien dans la production d'un filtre ou d'un élément de filtre pour filtrer sélectivement des composés phénoliques de fumée, par exemple de fumée de tabac ; dans laquelle le premier matériau de filtre comprend une étoupe d'acétate de cellulose ; et le deuxième matériau de filtre comprend un papier, dans laquelle l'étoupe d'acétate de cellulose remplit des petites rainures dans les plis de papier dudit papier du deuxième matériau de filtre dans la bande cohérente.
