Description

DEVICE FOR APPLYING A REFLECTIVE COMPOSITION TO A SURFACE,
METHOD AND USE THEREOF
Field of the invention
The present invention relates to a device for applying a reflective composition to a surface comprising: a container wherein the container contains the reflective composition, and an application device adapted for being in contact with the surface. The present invention further relates to a method for applying a reflective composition to a surface and use thereof.
Technical Background
Every year millions of people are killed in traffic. One reason being low visibility. The use and understanding of traditional reflectors are limited, although they save lives. The perhaps most common kind, loose hanging reflectors, comprise a thread or wire attached to it to ensure mobility of the reflector, and thereby allowing for incoming light to reflect upon a higher number of prisms within the reflector. The wire also opens up for
entanglement of various sorts, being caught and thereby perhaps also being lost or cause damage to the goods upon which it was attached. Other kinds of reflectors are slap wraps, tape, ribbons, and bracelets, and they all depend upon movement of the part on which it is placed for optimal visibility. These types of reflectors are however known to fall off and be lost, sometimes forgotten to be put on and may be considered bulky and "in-the-way". There are also stickers, unfortunately they too tend to fall off, sewn on patches and ribbons, but they are considered time consuming to apply and many times as non-esthetic. There is also a reflective spray, however it presents difficulties in precision during application and there is the unwanted risk of inhalation of aerosols.
Although there are various reflective devises, they are not used to a satisfying extent. Even in countries such as Sweden, where basically every household own a reflector, only 30% of the population actually uses
reflectors. The reasons for this are ranging from esthetics, laziness to practicalities. The present invention offers solutions to many of these challenges disclosed above.
