Description

The invention relates to a seat/reclining piece of furniture with a frame for support on the floor and with a seat part which is supported by the frame at a distance from the floor and has a seat surface and which has a seat cushion and an adjustable leg rest. Such a generic piece of seating/reclining furniture is essentially of the type, for example DE 10 2017 120 865 A1 out.

Furniture that is essentially comparable in type comes from the literature US 9,839,297 B2 and DE 20 2011 004 962 U1 out.

Seating/reclining furniture with adjustable leg rests or footrests are generally known, especially in the form of television or relaxation armchairs, in which there is enough storage space below the seat for the leg rest or footrest as well as for the adjustment fitting and, if necessary, an additional adjustment drive where in many cases ground clearance does not play a role. The object of the invention is to create a way to also provide other seating/reclining furniture with an adjustable leg rest and thus to expand the possible uses of seating/reclining furniture, in particular single- or multi-seater sofas or couches, without this The floor clearance of the furniture is affected.

This problem is solved by the features of claim 1.

According to the invention, it is in particular provided that the leg rest is adjustable relative to the seat cushion between a passive position and an active position by means of a fitting, which is attached at one end to the seat part or to the frame and the other end of which is designed as a support section which carries the leg rest or itself forms at least part of the leg rest. In the passive position, the support section is located below a plane defined by the seat surface in the area of the front end of the seat cushion and in the active position in a raised position at a distance from the front end of the seat cushion.

According to the invention, it is not necessary to stow the leg rest in the passive position below the seat or below the seat cushion. Consequently, all that is required is to accommodate the fitting. The area below the seat part can therefore be kept at least essentially free, so that a piece of furniture for sitting/reclining can be realized with relatively large ground clearance and, in particular, without interference from the fitting. This means that sofas and couches can also be fitted with a leg rest without negatively affecting their external appearance.

The support section can be formed by the fitting or be a separate component attached to the end of the fitting. In both cases, the end of the fitting is designed as a support section in the sense of the present disclosure.

The support section can be a support for the leg rest that is invisible to the user. Alternatively, the support section itself can form at least part of the leg support. For example, the support section can be formed by a padded or covered, for example plate-shaped, support element. Alternatively, a cover or cushion cover, which covers the seat part and therefore forms the seat surface, can be placed over the front edge of the seat cushion protrude and be attached to the support section of the fitting with this front end area. In the active position, this cover, which serves as a leg rest, or this cushion cover then spans the space between the front edge of the seat cushion and the support section of the fitting. In the passive position, this cover or this cushion cover is then placed around the front edge of the seat cushion, so that the front of the seat cushion is covered by the cover or the cushion cover.

The seat part can be a seat/lying part, so that the seat is a seat/lying surface and the seat cushion is a seat/lying cushion. If the following only refers to a piece of furniture, a seat part, a seat or a seat cushion, etc., then this also includes the option that the piece of furniture can be used not only for sitting, but alternatively or additionally for lying down.

The leg rest comprises a flexible support that extends from the support section of the fitting at least to the front end of the seat cushion. As a result, the support can cover an otherwise existing gap between the front edge of the seat cushion and the support section of the fitting and serve to rest the legs of a user.

The fitting comprises at least two partial fittings that are spaced apart from one another in the transverse direction and can be adjusted synchronously. By dividing the fitting into a plurality of partial fittings, which can be designed to be identical or identical, a leg rest of fundamentally any width can be realized in a simple and at the same time reliable manner, even if the leg rest can only be adjusted by motor A single drive motor should be provided, since in this case the drive motor can interact with a common drive element that connects or couples the partial fittings and thus synchronizes them.

The adjustment movements of the partial fittings can be synchronized by a drive which includes a drive shaft extending in the transverse direction, which forms the lowest point of the fitting both in the active position and in the passive position. The drive shaft can be rotated by a drive motor. The drive motor is preferably supported on the frame.

Each partial fitting is located completely above the drive shaft both in the passive position and in the active position, but not in every intermediate position. In this respect, the drive shaft forms the lowest point of the adjustment arrangement provided for the leg rest both in the passive position and in the active position.

Further advantageous embodiments of the seating/reclining furniture according to the invention are also specified in the dependent claims, the following description and the drawing.

Preferably, the seating/reclining furniture comprises a back part which can be adjusted to change the seat depth between a front position, for which the passive position of the leg rest is provided, and a rear position, for which the active position of the leg rest is provided.

Particularly in the case of so-called relaxation furniture, in addition to a normal seating configuration, a relaxation configuration with a back part that is adjusted backwards and, if necessary, also changed in terms of the inclination or position of a head or shoulder area is often desired. This relaxation configuration is often associated with an increased seat depth, which can result in a user's calves coming to rest in the area of the front edge of the seat part, which is often perceived as uncomfortable. By means of the invention Leg rest can therefore make particularly comfortable use of relaxation furniture possible in a particularly simple manner, even in a relaxation configuration that involves an increased seat depth.

Furthermore, it can be provided that the support section in the active position is raised at least approximately by the height of the seat cushion compared to the passive position. This “stroke” that the support section performs by means of the fitting can, for example, be in the range of 10 to 40 cm.

If the support section does not itself form at least part of the leg rest, but rather serves as a support for the leg rest and is therefore arranged below the leg rest, then the top of the support section is located below the plane defined by the seat surface, by an amount that is the Thickness of the leg rest corresponds. In the sense of the present disclosure, the support section is then at least approximately at the height of the seat surface level.

The fitting preferably comprises a scissor fitting which is folded in the passive position and extended in the active position. Such a fitting can advantageously be folded to a height that is small compared to the length of the path along which the fitting can move the support section when extended. The fitting can therefore be stowed below the seat cushion in the passive position without affecting the floor clearance of the furniture. In the passive position, the fitting is preferably arranged below the seat cushion and above an underside of the furniture that is defined by the frame or by the seat part and is spaced from the floor. The ground clearance of the furniture according to the invention is thereby guaranteed.

As already mentioned at the beginning, any additional support between the seat cushion and the support section is not absolutely necessary. The edition section itself can be used to support a user's legs, which consequently bridge the gap that then exists between the support section and the front of the seat cushion.

If a cushion is provided, it can cover the seat cushion and extend at least to a back part or at least to the rear end of the seat cushion. It is then the support that forms the seat of the furniture.

What is particularly interesting from a design perspective is that the leg rest is not perceived as a separate component from the seat part or seat cushion, but rather appears as an integrated component. In particular, if the design is chosen such that the fitting including the support section is invisible to a user, it is the front part of the support that projects beyond the front edge of the seat cushion that appears as an adjustable leg rest.

This can be particularly interesting if, according to a further embodiment of the invention, the support is designed as a cover or as a cushion cover for the seat part.

It is preferably provided that the support is tensioned or kept wrinkle-free by the support section of the fitting, at least in the active position. This ensures an attractive external appearance even in the active position of the leg rest.

In the passive position, the support is preferably tensioned or kept wrinkle-free by the support section of the fitting.

The invention therefore makes it possible to use a support of whatever type, for example designed as a cover or upholstery, for the seat part as an adjustable leg rest and to ensure that the flexible support does not create disruptive creases in any position, which is particularly advantageous because In this embodiment, the part of the support forming the leg rest is visible to a user in every position.

As far as the movement of the support section of the fitting is concerned, it can be provided in particular that the support section is positively guided at least approximately on a circular path between the passive position and the active position.

The support section of the fitting can comprise a rigid support which extends in the transverse direction over at least part of the width of the seat part and has a support surface which points forward in the passive position and upwards in the active position.

According to the invention, it is possible for the user to be able to adjust the leg rest manually. In a preferred alternative embodiment, the leg rest is motor-adjustable.

In a preferred embodiment, the leg rest extends at least substantially over the entire width of the seat part. It can be provided that the length of the leg rest in the transverse direction is greater than the depth of the seat part. This can be the case in particular with multi-seater seating/reclining furniture, for example a sofa or a couch.

Each partial fitting can include at least one control lever, one end of which engages an adjusting lever arrangement comprising the support section and the other end is articulated to a drive bracket which is non-rotatably connected to a common drive shaft.

The fitting can be designed to positively guide the support section.

As far as the design of the fitting or the individual partial fittings is concerned, it can be provided that the fitting or each partial fitting has an adjusting lever arrangement which has a front pair of levers that form or support at least part of the support section and a rear pair of levers attached to the seat part or frame includes, wherein the two pairs of levers are articulated to one another.

It can be provided that the levers of the rear pair of levers are each articulated below the seat cushion, set back from the front end of the seat cushion. The articulation points can be arranged in the area of the front end of the seat cushion in that the articulation points are much closer to the front end of the seat cushion than to the rear end of the seat cushion.

It is preferably provided that the levers of the two pairs of levers are connected to one another in an articulated manner at three points.

The pairwise distances between the articulation points at which the levers of the two pairs of levers are articulated to one another are preferably smaller than the distance between the two articulation points at the end regions of each lever.

Furthermore, it can be provided that one lever of each pair of levers is connected in an articulated manner to both levers of the other pair of levers and the other lever of each pair of levers is only articulated to one lever of the other pair of levers.

It is preferred if, in the active position, it is the lower lever in the front pair of levers and the upper lever in the rear pair of levers, which is articulated to both levers of the other pair of levers.

Preferably, a control lever that can be actuated by means of a drive engages the rear pair of levers. The drive can be a manual drive that can be operated by the user, or a motor drive.

Preferably, the control lever only engages one lever of one of the pairs of levers. The control lever preferably engages a lever of one pair of levers, which is connected in an articulated manner to both levers of the other pair of levers.

In the seat configuration shown, the back part 25 is in a front position, in which it is spaced from the rear end of the seat part 15. The seat depth here is such that a user can assume a normal sitting position with their legs bent. An adjustable leg rest 19 is therefore in a downwardly moved passive position.

As will be explained in more detail below, the seat part 15 includes a cushion cover 27, which at least visually acts like a blanket placed over the entire seat part 15 and protrudes from the lower edge of the back of the seat part 15 beyond the upper front edge of the seat part 15 and there in the front area forms the leg rest 19. The adjustment arrangement for the leg rest 19 is independent of a fitting 49, not described here, for adjusting the backrest 25 between a front position with a normal seat depth ( Fig. 3 ) and a rear position with increased seat depth ( Fig. 4 and 5 ).

The adjustment arrangement for the leg rest 19 includes a scissor fitting 21, which includes two identical partial fittings, namely a left partial fitting and a right partial fitting (see middle illustration in Fig. 9 ) and a common drive shaft 31 for the two partial fittings. The partial fittings are not identical here, but are constructed in mirror images. The following description applies accordingly to both partial fittings, although for the sake of simplicity the term "fitting" is sometimes used instead of the term "partial fitting".

The partial fittings are each arranged between a lateral, frame-fixed support 12 on the one hand and the cushioned support 27, which forms the leg rest 19 with its flexible, projecting front area, on the other hand. The cushion cover 27 is attached to a support section 23, which forms the front end of the fitting 21. As can be seen from the middle representation in Fig. 9 As can be seen, the common support section 23 of the leg rest 19 is formed by two supports 24a, which are each articulated to two front levers of the relevant partial fitting and by a strip-shaped support section 24b (cf. Fig. 3 , 4 and 5 ) are connected to each other, to which the cushion cover 27 is attached. The support section 24b can be, for example, a wooden strip which is connected via its two end regions to the two supports 23a, for example by screwing.

The structure of the fitting 21 itself is discussed in conjunction with the Fig. 6, 7 and 8th discussed in more detail below.

A drive 29 for synchronously adjusting the two partial fittings comprises a common drive motor 33, which is supported on the frame 11 and can set a common drive shaft 31, which extends in the transverse direction and is rotatably mounted on the frame 11, in rotation, via which respective control levers 35 of the two partial fittings can be operated, which attack one of the levers of the respective fitting 21.

The drive motor 33 and its interaction with the drive shaft 31 can basically be designed in any way. In the example shown, the motor 33 has an extendable and retractable actuator 34, which engages the shaft 31 via a tab 37.

How Fig. 8 shows, the drive shaft 31 is rotatably mounted about an axis of rotation 32 on the two frame-fixed supports 12. For each partial fitting, a drive tab 37 is attached in a rotationally fixed manner to the respective end region of the drive shaft 32, with which the relevant control lever 35 is articulated at an articulation point 35a. An extendable and retractable actuator 34 of the motor 33 only engages the one on the right here (cf. Fig. 9 ) Drive tab 37 on an articulation point 34a spaced from the axis of rotation 32 of the drive shaft 31 in order to set the drive shaft 31 in rotation and thus to actuate both drive tabs 37 and consequently both control levers 35 synchronously, so that the two partial fittings are adjusted synchronously.

Fig. 8 shows the partial fitting in the folded state and thus the actuator 34 of the motor 33 in a retracted position. Through dashed lines is in Fig. 8 the position of the front end of the actuator 34 'in the active position of the fitting 21 is shown.

The adjustment arrangement according to the invention therefore only requires a single drive 33 and can still be used for seat parts 15 of any width. In order to adapt the adjustment arrangement according to the invention to different widths, only the length of the drive shaft 31 and, if necessary, the support section 24b - as described above - need to be adjusted.

As already mentioned, the control lever 35 (in Fig. 5 only indicated by a dashed line) only on one of the four levers 41, 43, 45, 47 of the respective one partial fitting. These four levers form a front pair of levers 41, 43 and a rear pair of levers 45, 47. The control lever 35 engages in the active position Fig. 7 upper lever 45 of the rear pair of levers. This lever 45 is articulated on the carrier 12 at an articulation point 45a, which lies in front of an articulation point 47a, at which the other lever 47 of this pair of levers is articulated on the carrier 12.

The two levers 41, 43 of the front pair of levers are articulated to the respective carrier 24a of the support section 23 at articulation points 23a and 23b. The two articulation points 23a, 23b are in the active position Fig. 7 in an at least approximately horizontal plane and in the passive position Fig. 6 in an at least approximately vertical plane.

When adjusting the fitting 21, the two supports 24a and the support section 24b and consequently the entire support section 23 are rotated when adjusting between the active position and the passive position.

The four levers are connected to one another at three articulation points 51, 53, 55. One lever of each pair of levers is connected to both levers of the other pair of levers. The other lever of each pair of levers is only articulated to one lever of the other pair of levers. In the active position according to Fig. 7 In the front pair of levers it is the lower lever 43, which is articulated to both levers 45, 47 of the rear pair of levers, whereas in the rear pair of levers it is the upper lever 45, which is connected to the two levers 41, 43 of the front pair of levers.

The length of the individual levers and thus the distance between the two articulation points of each lever is significantly larger than the individual pairwise distances between the articulation points 51, 53, 55 of the levers.

Like comparing the Figs. 6 and 7 As can be seen, the fitting can be folded to a comparatively low height ( Fig. 6 ) and nevertheless ensure a considerable travel of the carrier 24a and thus of the support section 23. The carriers 24a are not only moved forward away from the front of the seat cushion 17 (cf. Fig. 3 , 4 and 5 ), but at the same time raised, approximately by the height of the seat cushion 17, with the already mentioned rotation of the support section 23 taking place at the same time.

In order to enable the adjustment movement of the fitting 21, the drive motor 33 is at its rear end at an articulation point 33a (cf. Fig. 6, 7 and 8th ) is articulated to the support 12 fixed to the frame.

From the overview according to Fig. 9 In particular, the small space requirement of the fitting 21 according to the invention in the folded state is evident compared to the large travel range. Both in this passive position and in the active position, the fitting 21 is located completely above the drive shaft 31, which therefore forms the lowest point of the fitting arrangement.

It should also be emphasized that in the embodiments shown, the seat surface 13 is only a fraction of the normal seat depth in the seat configuration by extending the leg rest 19 Fig. 3 is enlarged. The magnification can be between 10 and 40 cm, for example, and in a preferred embodiment amounts to approximately 20 cm. In general, the fraction may be, for example, less than half or less than a third of the seat depth.

The height of the seat cushion 17 is approximately 10 to 15 cm in a preferred exemplary embodiment, ie in the passive position Fig. 3 the leg rest 19 covers the front of the seat cushion 17 as well as the space underneath to accommodate the folded fitting 21. The floor clearance of the seating/lounging furniture is therefore not affected by the leg rest 19 and its adjustment arrangement.

Furthermore, it should be emphasized that in the exemplary embodiment shown, a continuous cushion support 27 and thus a flexible, non-rigid element forms the leg support 19, the movement of the fitting 21 and thus the support section 23 and the positions of the support section 23 in the passive position according to Fig. 3 and in the active position according to Fig. 5 ensure in each case that the flexible support 27 does not create disruptive creases in any of the useful configurations of the seating/reclining furniture according to the invention. In other words, adjusting the support section 23 ensures that the cushion support 27 is kept wrinkle-free in the area of the leg support 19. It can be provided that the cushion cover 27 is tightened or - at least slightly - tensioned in the area of the leg support 19.

Claims (15)

1. Seating/reclining furniture comprising a drive (29); a frame (11) for support on the floor; and a seat part (15) which is supported by the frame (11) at a spacing from the floor, which has a seating surface (13) and which has a seat cushion (17) and an adjustable leg rest (19),

   wherein the leg rest (19) is adjustable relative to the seat cushion (17) between a passive position and an active position by means of a fitting (21), which is attached to the seat part (15) or to the frame (11) with one end and whose other end is configured as a support section (23) which supports the leg rest (19) or itself forms at least a part of the leg rest, wherein the leg rest (19) comprises a flexible support (27) which extends from the support section (23) of the fitting (21) at least up to the front end of the seat cushion (17), wherein, in the passive position, the support (27) is laid around a front edge of the seat cushion (17) and covers a front side of the seat cushion (17); and

   wherein, in the passive position, the support section (23) is located beneath a plane defined by the seating surface (13) in the region of the front end of the seat cushion (17) and, in the active position, the support section (23) is located in a raised position at a spacing from the front end of the seat cushion (17), wherein, in the active position, the support section (23) is located at least approximately at the level of the plane defined by the seating surface (13) and is oriented at least approximately in parallel with the plane defined by the seating surface (13);

   wherein the support section (23) at least approximately describes a quarter circle during its movement between the passive position and the active position, wherein the support section (23) of the fitting (21) is oriented at least approximately vertically in the passive position; and

   wherein the fitting (21) comprises at least two part fittings which are spaced apart from one another in the transverse direction and which can be adjusted synchronously, wherein the adjustment movements of the part fittings can be synchronized by the drive (29), which comprises a drive shaft (31) extending in the transverse direction and forming the lowest point of the fitting (21) both in the passive position and in the active position, wherein the fitting (21) is located completely above the drive shaft (31).
2. Seating/reclining furniture in accordance with claim 1,
   wherein a back part (25) is provided which, in order to change the seat depth, is adjustable between a front position for which the passive position of the leg rest (19) is provided and a rear position for which the active position of the leg rest (19) is provided.
3. Seating/reclining furniture in accordance with claim 1 or 2,
   wherein, in the active position, the support section (23) is raised relative to the passive position at least approximately by the height of the seat cushion (17).
4. Seating/reclining furniture in accordance with any one of the preceding claims,
   wherein the fitting (21) comprises a scissor fitting which is folded together in the passive position and extended in the active position, and/or wherein, in the passive position, the fitting (21) is arranged beneath the seat cushion (17) and above a furniture underside which is defined by the frame (11) or the seat part (15) and which is spaced apart from the floor.
5. Seating/reclining furniture in accordance with any one of the preceding claims,
   wherein the support (27) covers the seat cushion (17) and extends at least up to a back part (25) or at least up to the rear end of the seat cushion (17).
6. Seating/reclining furniture in accordance with claim 5,
   wherein the support (27) is formed as a cover or as an upholstered support for the seat cushion (17), and/or wherein the support (27) is tensioned or kept crease-free by the support section (23) of the fitting (21) at least in the active position, and/or wherein the support (27) is tensioned or kept crease-free by the support section (23) of the fitting (21) in the passive position.
7. Seating/reclining furniture in accordance with any one of the preceding claims,
   wherein the support section (23) is at least approximately compulsorily guided on a circular path between the passive position and the active position, and/or wherein the support section (23) of the fitting (21) comprises a rigid carrier which extends in the transverse direction over at least a portion of the width of the seat part (15) and which has a support surface that faces to the front in the passive position and faces upward in the active position.
8. Seating/reclining furniture in accordance with any one of the preceding claims,
   wherein the leg rest (19) is adjustable by a motor, and/or wherein the leg rest (19) extends at least substantially over the entire width of the seat part (15), and/or wherein the length of the leg rest (19) in the transverse direction is greater than the depth of the seat part (15).
9. Seating/reclining furniture in accordance with any one of the preceding claims,
   wherein the drive shaft (31) can be set into rotation by a drive motor (33), in particular wherein the drive motor (33) is supported at the seat part (15) or at the frame (11).
10. Seating/reclining furniture in accordance with claim 9,
    wherein each part fitting comprises at least one control lever (35) which engages with one end at an adjustment lever arrangement comprising the support section (23) and which is connected in an articulated manner with the other end to a drive link (37) rotationally fixedly connected to a common drive shaft (31), and/or wherein each part fitting is located completely above a common drive shaft (31) both in the passive position and in the active position, but not in each intermediate position.
11. Seating/reclining furniture in accordance with any one of the preceding claims,
    wherein the fitting is configured for a compulsory guidance of the support section.
12. Seating/reclining furniture in accordance with any one of the preceding claims,
    wherein the fitting (21) or each part fitting has an adjustment lever arrangement which comprises a front lever pair (41, 43) forming or supporting at least a part of the support section (23) and a rear lever pair (45, 47) attached to the seat part (15) or the frame (11), wherein the two lever pairs are connected in an articulated manner to one another, in particular wherein the levers (41, 43) of the rear lever pair are each connected in an articulated manner beneath the seat cushion (17) and set back from the front end of the seat cushion (17).
13. Seating/reclining furniture in accordance with claim 12,
    wherein the levers (41, 43, 45, 47) of the two lever pairs are connected in an articulated manner to one another at three points (51, 53, 55), and/or wherein the pairwise spacings of the articulation points (51, 53, 55), at which the levers (41, 43, 45, 47) of the two lever pairs are connected in an articulated manner to one another, are each smaller than the spacing between the two articulation points at the end regions of each lever, and/or wherein the one lever (43, 45) of each lever pair is connected in an articulated manner to both levers of the other lever pair and the other lever (41, 47) of each lever pair is connected in an articulated manner only to one lever of the other lever pair, in particular wherein, in the active position, it is the lower lever (43) in the front lever pair and the upper lever (45) in the rear lever pair that is connected in an articulated manner to both levers of the respective other lever pair.
14. Seating/reclining furniture in accordance with one of the claims 12 or 13,
    wherein a control lever (35) which can be actuated by means of a drive (29) engages at the rear lever pair (45, 47), and/or wherein the control lever (35) only engages at one lever (45) of one of the lever pairs, and/or wherein the control lever (35) engages at one lever (45) of the one lever pair which is connected in an articulated manner to both levers (41, 43) of the other lever pair.
15. Seating/reclining furniture in accordance with any one of the preceding claims,
    wherein the fitting (21) or each part fitting has an adjustment lever arrangement comprising a plurality of levers (41, 43, 45, 47) which are movable relative to one another and which overlap with one another such that no intermediate spaces arise between the levers (41, 43, 45, 47) that close during adjustment and that would allow a pushing through of one or more fingers of a user.
