Abstract
Description
- The present invention relates to water dispensing unit for a refrigerator having a self-locking nozzle valve.
- It is well-known that water dispensing units of refrigerators operate such that when the user presses a button controlling the flow of water by for example the rim of a cup, they can get their desired amount of water via a nozzle placed beneath said button. When the user removed the rim of the cup from the button, the flow of water is cut off. In the present art, nozzle units cannot be grouped due to assembly difficulties and therefore require use of connecting elements during assembly. For this reason, the nozzle unit cannot provide tight coupling during operational fluid flow and also cannot be detached from the water dispensing unit, rendering it very difficult to perform maintenance. Due to the tight fit of the nozzle unit, assembly may get more difficult and time consuming depending on the size of the nozzle used. Time consuming assembly process leads to high labor and production costs. These costs increase in proportion to the rise in demand for refrigerators having a water dispensing unit.
- Among others, a prior art publication in the technical field of the invention may be referred to as WO2009157644A2, which discloses a refrigerator, including a dispenser mounted to a door, a nozzle mounted to the dispenser for discharging water to an outside of the dispenser, and a residual water preventive unit, such as a check valve, mounted close to the nozzle for preventing residual water from dropping, thereby preventing residual water from being dropped from a nozzle of a dispenser in the door of the refrigerator. Other examples may be referred to as DE102005057163A1, US2016243509A1, CN202119187U and KR20090043992A.
- The present invention, on the other hand, addresses the situation where the nozzle unit present in refrigerators having a water dispensing unit to ensure the user can get the desired amount of water can be assembled in a time-efficient manner.
- To this end, the present invention provides a nozzle unit comprising movable member having bidirectional teeth that allows easy assembly and disassembly of the components of the nozzle unit and easy removal of the nozzle unit from the water dispensing unit by the user.
- The present invention provides a water dispensing unit for a refrigerator having a self-locking nozzle valve, as provided by the characterizing features defined in Claim 1.
- Primary object of the present invention is to provide a water dispensing unit for a refrigerator having a self-locking nozzle valve allowing easy assembly and disassembly of the components of the nozzle unit and easy removal of the nozzle unit from the water dispensing unit by the user.
- The present invention proposes a refrigerator having a water dispensing unit having a nozzle unit with a threaded body and a nozzle valve fixedly attached to said threaded body in an entrapped manner and in connection with a movable member axially movable relative to said threaded body. Said nozzle valve comprises at least two and preferably three bidirectional teeth interlocking with an annular end portion of said movable member. Said threaded body enclosing said nozzle valve and said movable member can be easily screwed to said water dispensing unit.
