Description

  • The present invention relates to a cooling device comprising a knob.
  • In the state of the art, one knob is used both for thermostat and for light source. This kind of knobs are placed into the compartments wherein foodstuffs to be cooled are placed in order to illuminate the foodstuffs and to maintain the compartments in the desired temperature range. These knobs control the ambient temperature by activating/deactivating the compressor and/or the fan when needed according to the ambient temperature. The thermostat adjustment is generally performed by rotating the knob situated at the inner volume of the compartment. However, the knobs occupy space in the inner volume of the compartment, causing the compartment volume that is desired to be wide as much as possible, to narrow. Moreover, while the user is placing foodstuffs into the compartment, foodstuff storage receptacles such as container, pot, etc. may hit the knob and thus the knob may be damaged or the foodstuff storage receptacles may block the light which expands from the knob. In addition, it is very difficult to change the light source when it is not functioning.
  • In the state of the art International Patent Document No. WO2014090540 , a cooling device is described, comprising a knob. Further relevant prior art can be found in US6101819A .
  • The object of the present invention is the realization of a cooling device which enables the user to easily mount the knob in a removable way.
  • In the cooling device realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention, explicated in the first claim and the respective claims thereof, comprising at least one compartment having at least a wall wherein foodstuffs desired to be cooled are placed, at least one recess disposed on the wall, a knob that is situated on the recess that enables the compartment temperature to be changed by the user and having a light source for illuminating the compartment. The cooling device further comprises a compartment having at least one interaction means disposed on the back surface of the wall and the knob having at least one magnet so as to be in interaction with the interaction means to ensure that it is mounted on the wall. Interaction means can be any metal that causes interaction with the magnet so that the knob is securely kept on the wall.
  • In another embodiment of the present invention, the knob further comprises a bottom cover having a housing wherein the magnet is placed. When the knob is placed on the wall the bottom cover is aligned with the recess so that the magnetic force can be provided between the interaction means and the magnet.
  • In another embodiment of the present invention, the knob further comprises a holding means. The holding means enables user to easily grasp the knob.
  • In another embodiment of the present invention, the knob further comprises an electronic circuit box and a light source disposed between the bottom cover and the holding means. The light source can be LED in order to illuminate to compartment in a more efficient manner.
  • In another embodiment of the present invention, the knob further comprises a top cover having a temperature indicator being disposed on the holding means. By means of the temperature indicators, user can set the knob easily.
  • In another embodiment of the present invention, the cooling device comprises the bottom cover having at least one protrusion and the top cover having at least one opening wherein the protrusion is placed. The knob can be easily dismounted/mounted by means of the connection between the protrusion and the opening.
  • A cooling device realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention is illustrated in the attached figures, where:

  • A cooling device (1) comprises at least one compartment (2) having at least a wall (3) wherein foodstuffs desired to be cooled are placed, at least one recess (4) disposed on the wall (3), a knob (5) that is situated on the recess (4) that enables the compartment (2) temperature to be changed by the user and having a light source (6) for illuminating the compartment (2).
  • The cooling device (1) of the present invention further comprises a compartment (2) having at least one interaction means (7) disposed on the back surface of the wall (3) and the knob (5) having at least one magnet (8) so as to be in interaction with the interaction means (7) to ensure that it is mounted on the wall (3).
  • When user would like to use the shelf close to the knob (5), he/she pulls the knob (5) from the recess (4) and resettles the knob (5) in another convenient recess (4) which is placed by the manufacturer by means of the interaction means (7) and the magnet (8). The locations of the recesses (4) are selected to be suitable for contactless energy transmission. Contactless energy transmission is provided by the electromagnetic induction transmitters. The knob (5) is fixed on the wall (3) by the magnetic force that is applied by the magnet (8) against the interaction means (7).
  • In another embodiment of the present invention, the knob (5) further comprises a bottom cover (9) having a housing (10) wherein the magnet (8) is placed. The housing (10) surrounds the magnet (8) so that magnet is fixed inside the knob (5).
  • In another embodiment of the present invention, the knob (5) further comprises a holding means (11). By means of the holding means (11) that is placed over the bottom cover (9), the user can hold the knob (5) and control the temperature inside the compartment (2).
  • In another embodiment of the present invention, the knob (5) further comprises an electronic circuit box (12) and a light source (6) disposed between the bottom cover (9) and the holding means (11). The electronic circuit box (12) controls the cooling device (1) settings according to the adjustments made by the user through the knob (5).
  • In another embodiment of the present invention, the knob (5) further comprises a top cover (13) having a temperature indicator (14) being disposed on the holding means (11). The top cover (13) is placed on the holding means (11) and when the user rotates the knob (5), by means of the temperature indicator (14) he/she can easily see the temperature that is set.
  • In another embodiment of the present invention, the cooling device (1) comprises the bottom cover (9) having at least one protrusion (15) and the top cover (13) having at least one opening (16) wherein the protrusion (15) is placed. By means of the protrusion (15) and the opening (16), the light source (6) can be easily changed.
  • By means of the present invention, the knob (5) mounted in the recess (4) in a displaceable way by means of the interaction of the interaction means (7) and the magnet (8).

Claims (6)

  1. A cooling device (1) comprising
    - at least one compartment (2) having at least a wall (3) wherein foodstuffs desired to be cooled are placed,
    - at least one recess (4) disposed on the wall (3)
    - a knob (5) that is situated on the recess (4) that enables the compartment (2) temperature to be changed by the user and having a light source (6) for illuminating the compartment (2)
    - wherein said compartment (2) comprises at least one interaction means (7) disposed on the back surface of the wall (3) and
    characterized in that
    - the knob (5) comprises at least one magnet (8) so as to be in interaction with the interaction means (7) to ensure that it is mounted on the wall (3).
  2. A cooling device (1) as in Claim 1, wherein the knob (5) further comprises a bottom cover (9) having a housing (10) wherein the magnet (8) is placed.
  3. A cooling device (1) as in any of the preceding claims, wherein the knob (5) further comprises a holding means (11).
  4. A cooling device (1) as in Claim 2 and 3, wherein the knob (5) further comprises an electronic circuit box (12) and a light source (6) disposed between the bottom cover (9) and the holding means (11).
  5. A cooling device (1) as in Claim 3 or 4, wherein the knob (5) further comprises a top cover (13) having a temperature indicator (14) being disposed on the holding means (11).
  6. A cooling device (1) as in Claim 2 or 5, wherein the bottom cover (9) having at least one protrusion (15) and the top cover (13) having at least one opening (16) wherein the protrusion (15) is placed.
