Description

  • The present invention relates to a refrigerator comprising a drawer.
  • Generally, refrigerators comprise a fresh food compartment and a freezing compartment kept at different temperatures. In recent years, in accordance with customer demands, embodiments wherein the freezing compartment is situated below and the fresh food compartment is situated above have become widespread. In refrigerators wherein the freezing compartment is situated below, the freezing compartment is designed in the form of a drawer so as to be easily accessed from above. However, when the user opens the door they cannot easily reach the drawers which are kept inside the compartment.
  • In the state of the art Turkish Patent Document WO2012089476 is described a drawer which can be easily moved in the refrigerator. Further relevant prior art can be found in JPH0445382A .
  • The object of the present invention is the realization of a refrigerator which enables the user to easily reach the drawer in the compartment.
  • The cooling device according to the present invention is defined in claim 1 and comprises at least one compartment wherein foodstuffs desired to be cooled are placed, at least one door providing access into the compartment, at least one drawer located within the compartment, an attaching means arranged on the side of the door facing the compartment such that being engageable to drawer and having two positions one of which is an attaching position where it is attached to the drawer and the other is a free position where it is not attached to the drawer, a triggering means arranged on the side of the door facing the external environment and being configured to move the attaching means between the attaching position and the free position, wherein the drawer is grasped by the attaching means when the attaching means in the attaching position so that the drawer moves with the door while the door is being opened and wherein the drawer is not grasped by the attaching means when the attaching means in the free position so that the drawer does not move with the door while the door is being opened. When the triggering means is activated the attaching means connects the drawer to the inner surface of the door so that when the user pulls the door from the outer surface, the drawer moves forward as a result of the movement of the door.
  • In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the cooling device comprises a hook formed attaching means and wherein the drawer comprises a recess in a compatible form with the hook. By means of the recess and the hook shaped attaching means it is provided that the attaching means pulls the drawer in a firmly way.
  • In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the cooling device having the door comprises a passage for mounting the triggering means on the door. So the triggering means can be mounted easily.
  • According to the present invention, a cooling device having the triggering means comprises a button, a spring and a shaft. A push-button is used and the spring is between the button and the shaft. Shaft moves the attaching means towards the drawer.
  • According to the present invention, a cooling device having the door comprises a handle and said button is disposed on the handle. By means of the button thereon the handle, user can open the door and the drawer with one hand.
  • In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the cooling device further comprising a freezer compartment and a fresh food compartment at a higher temperature than the freezer compartment.
  • In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the cooling device having the drawer comprises an ice cube tray in the freezer compartment. So that the ice cube tray can be easily taken out.
  • A cooling device realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention is illustrated in the attached figures, where:

    • Figure 2 - is the A-A cross-section view of the Figure 1 when the attaching means in the free position.
    • Figure 3 - is the detail B view of the Figure 2.
    • Figure 4 - is the A-A cross-section view of the Figure 1 when the attaching means in the attaching position.

    • Figure 6 - is the perspective view of a door.

  • A cooling device (1) comprising at least one compartment (2) wherein foodstuffs desired to be cooled are placed, at least one door (3) providing access into the compartment (2), at least one drawer (4) located within the compartment (2), an attaching means (5) arranged on the side of the door (3) facing the compartment (2) such that being engageable to drawer (4) and having two positions one of which is an attaching position where it is attached to the drawer (4) and the other is a free position where it is not attached to the drawer (4), a triggering means (6) arranged on the side of the door (3) facing the external environment and being configured to move the attaching means (5) between the attaching position and the free position, wherein the drawer (4) is grasped by the attaching means (5) when the attaching means (5) in the attaching position so that the drawer (4) moves with the door (3) while the door (3) is being opened and wherein the drawer (4) is not grasped by the attaching means (5) when the attaching means (5) in the free position so that the drawer (4) does not move with the door (3) while the door (3) is being opened.
  • User triggers the triggering means (6) before opening the door (3) and the triggering means (6) activated the attachment means (5). So the drawer (4) is gripped by the attaching means (5). While the user is opening the door (3), the attaching means (5) is also pulling out the drawer (4) from its housing at the same time. User doesn't need to make a second move to pull the drawer (4) after opening the door (3) or to push the drawer (4) before closing the door (3).
  • In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the cooling device (1) comprises the attaching means (5) in the form of a hook and wherein the drawer (4) comprises a recess (7) in a compatible form with the hook. By means of the hook formed attaching means (5) and a recess (7), it is ensured that the attaching means (6) pulls the drawer in a firmly way.
  • In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the cooling device (1) having the door (3) comprises a passage (8) for mounting the triggering means (6) on the door (3). By means of the passage (8), the triggering means (6) can be mounted on the door to trigger the attaching means (5)
  • According to the present invention, a cooling device (1) having the triggering means (6) comprises a button (9), a spring (10) and a shaft (11). Button (9) is on the outer surface of the door (3) so user can push it before opening the door (3). Then the button (9) compresses the spring (10) and spring (10) pushes the shaft (11).
  • According to the present invention, a cooling device (1) having the door (3) comprises a handle (12) and said button (9) is disposed on the handle (12). In this embodiment user can activate the triggering means (6) while pulling the handle (12).
  • In another embodiment of the present invention, a cooling device (1) further comprising a freezer compartment (102) and a fresh food compartment (202) at a higher temperature than the freezer compartment (102). So the cooling device (1) can be used for storing different types of foods at different temperatures.
  • In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the cooling device (1) having the drawer (4) comprises an ice cube tray in the freezer compartment (102). In this embodiment, the user can pull the ice cube tray out of the compartment together with the door (3).
  • By means of the present invention, a drawer (4) that can be moved together with the door (3) is achieved by the triggering means (6) and attaching means (5).

Claims (5)

  1. A cooling device (1) comprising
    - at least one compartment (2) wherein foodstuffs desired to be cooled are placed,
    - at least one door (3) providing access into the compartment (2), wherein the door (3) comprises a handle (12),
    - at least one drawer (4) located within the compartment (2),
    - an attaching means (5) arranged on the side of the door (3) facing the compartment (2) such that being engageable to drawer (4) and having two positions one of which is an attaching position where it is attached to the drawer (4) and the other is a free position where it is not attached to the drawer (4),
    - a triggering means (6) arranged on the side of the door (3) facing the external environment and being configured to move the attaching means (5) between the attaching position and the free position,
    - wherein the drawer (4) is grasped by the attaching means (5) when the attaching means (5) in the attaching position so that the drawer (4) moves with the door (3) while the door (3) is being opened and
    - wherein the drawer (4) is not grasped by the attaching means (5) when the attaching means (5) in the free position so that the drawer (4) does not move with the door (3) while the door (3) is being opened,
    the triggering means (6) comprises a button (9) and a spring (10), wherein the button (9) is disposed on the handle (12), characterized in that the triggering means further comprises a shaft (11); the spring (10) is between the button (9) and the shaft (11), wherein the button (9) is configured to compress the spring (10), wherein the spring (10) is configured to push the shaft (11) and wherein the shaft (11) is configured to move the attaching means (5) towards the drawer (4).
  2. A cooling device (1) according to Claim 1, wherein the attaching means (5) is in the form of a hook and wherein the drawer (4) comprises a recess (7) in a compatible form with the hook.
  3. A cooling device (1) according to the any of the preceding claims, wherein the door (3) comprises a passage (8) for mounting the triggering means (6) on the door (3).
  4. A cooling device (1) according to the any of the preceding claims, further comprising a freezer compartment (102) and a fresh food compartment (202) at a higher temperature than the freezer compartment (102).
  5. A cooling device (1) according to Claim 4, wherein the drawer (4) comprises an ice cube tray in the freezer compartment (102).
