Description

    CROSS REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATION
  • The present application claims priority to Korean Patent Application No. 10-2018-0013358, filed February 2, 2018 , the entire contents of which is incorporated herein for all purposes by this reference.
  • BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION Field of the Invention
  • The present invention relates generally to a mascara container for use in applying mascara. More particularly, the present invention relates to a mascara container with a grooming comb, in which the grooming comb that easily combs and separates clumpy eyelashes to remove clumps on the eyelashes after applying mascara is received and stored in an outer cap, and thus is easily withdrawn and used.
  • Description of the Related Art
  • As well known in the art, mascara is a cosmetic applied to the eyelashes to enhance the eyelashes.
  • A mascara container in the related art generally includes a container body for containing mascara, a handle for opening and closing the container, a bar-shaped stem extending downwardly from the handle, a liquid application brush mounted at the stem, and a wiper for wiping the brush to remove any excess liquid present on the brush. The mascara is used in such a manner that the brush is smeared with the mascara through engagement or disengagement of the handle to or from the container body.
  • Depending on the length and shape of bristles of the mascara brush, the mascara brush constructed as above is manufactured to be adapted to various functions such as creating volume (effect of adding volume to the eyelashes), curling (effect of curling up the ends of the eyelashes), creating long lashes (effect of lengthening the eyelashes), and cleaning (preventing clumps on the eyelashes), etc.
  • The main role of the mascara brush is to evenly apply viscous mascara to the eyelashes and to properly comb and separate the eyelashes by means of the brush such that the eyelashes are effectively separated without clumping together. However, the mascara container in the related art is problematic in that the eyelashes often become clumpy due to the viscous mascara after applying the mascara to the eyelashes and a single brush coated with the mascara is used to comb and separate the clumpy eyelashes to remove clumps on the eyelashes, and thus excess mascara is applied to the eyelashes, which makes it difficult to properly comb and separate the eyelashes or requires a lot of time to comb and separate the eyelashes.
  • In other words, in the related art, in order to comb and separate the clumpy eyelashes to remove the clumps on the eyelashes, the excess mascara should be removed from the brush coated with the mascara after applying the mascara to the eyelashes using the brush, or the brush is used when the brush coated with the mascara is dry, resulting in user inconvenience.
  • Accordingly, in the related art, the eyelashes clumped together with the viscous mascara should be combed and separated using a separate groomer (e.g. a brush) to remove the clumps on the eyelashes or mascara application should be performed again after removing the excess mascara from the eyelashes.
  • In an effort to solve the problem of clumping the eyelashes due to the mascara brush as described above, it is noted that Patent Document 1 (Korean Patent No. 10-0817585 ) discloses a mascara brush in which a mascara application brush and a grooming comb are combined in an overlapping manner and used. However, the technique of Patent Document 1 also is problematic in that since the application brush and the grooming comb are combined in an overlapping manner, when applying the mascara to the eyelashes, the mascara on the application brush is also applied to the grooming comb, resulting in limitations to comb and separation of the clumpy eyelashes and removal of the clumps on the eyelashes.
  • In addition, it is noted that Patent Document 2 (Korean Utility Model Application Publication No. 20-2018-0000094 ) discloses a mascara container provided with first and second brushes provided at a first or opposite sides of a stem and a comb-shaped third brush for eyelash makeup. However, because a single stem is equipped with the respective brushes, it is difficult to comb and separate the clumpy eyelashes and remove the clumps on the eyelashes due to such a structural limitation.

    DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • Hereinbelow, exemplary embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings. Throughout the drawings, the same reference numerals will refer to the same or like parts.
  • Referring to FIGS. 1 to 5, a mascara container 100 with a grooming comb includes a container body 110 containing mascara; a mascara application part 120 opened and closed with respect to an injection opening of the container body 110; a receiving recess 130 formed in the mascara application part 120; and a grooming comb 140 detachably received in the receiving recess 130 and configured to comb and separate clumpy eyelashes to remove clumps on the eyelashes after applying the mascara.
  • According to the present invention, the mascara application part 120 includes an inner cap 122 coupled to an injection opening 112 of the container body 110 to be openable and closeable, a stem 124 extending from the inner cap 122, a mascara application brush 126 provided at an end of the stem 124, and an outer cap 128 integrally coupled to an outer circumferential surface of the inner cap 122 to be opened and closed together with the inner cap 122 and functioning as a handle during the application of mascara. The receiving recess 130 formed in the mascara application part 120 may be open outwardly of the outer cap 128.
  • The grooming comb 140, which is detachably received in the receiving recess 130, is used to evenly comb and separate the eyelashes after applying mascara, whereby the clumps on the eyelashes can be removed naturally cleanly.
  • According to the present invention, the mascara container 100 may further include a wiper 150 wiping the mascara application brush 126 to remove excess mascara present on the mascara application brush 126 during application of thereof.
  • Furthermore, according to the present invention, the grooming comb 140 may include a comb portion 142 formed in a comb shape and a handle portion 144 extending to a side of the comb portion 142.
  • The comb portion 142 is a portion that combs the eyelashes after applying mascara, and the shape or structure of the comb portion 142 may vary depending on the purpose.
  • It is preferable that the grooming comb 140 detachably received in the receiving recess 130 is configured such that when the comb portion 142 is inserted into the receiving recess 130, a stop step 145 of the handle portion 144 is supported on the receiving recess 130 while blocking the receiving recess 130, such that foreign contaminants are prevented from entering the receiving recess 130 during carrying.
  • It is preferable that the grooming comb 140 of which the comb portion 142 is received in the receiving recess 130 is assembled to be not easily detached during storage and carrying, but to be detached only when a user withdraws the grooming comb 140 while holding the handle portion 144. For this purpose, although not shown in the drawings, an inner circumferential surface of the receiving recess 130 or an outer circumferential surface of the comb portion 142 corresponding thereto may have various engaging means such as a hook, a groove, etc.
  • The receiving recess 130 is blocked by the handle portion 144 of the grooming comb 140 as described above, whereby hygienic use of the grooming comb 140 can be enabled.
  • The grooming comb 140 may be configured such that the comb portion 142 and the handle portion 144 are formed integrally with each other.
  • In addition, referring to FIG. 6, the grooming comb 140 may be configured such that the comb portion 142 and the handle portion 144 are separately formed and selectively assembled.
  • Herein, the comb portion 142 and the handle portion 144 of the separation type may be assembled by using various methods including a fitting method using a fitting piece and a groove, etc.
  • The grooming comb 140, of which the comb portion 142 and the handle portion 144 are formed as the integral or separate type, may be made of a synthetic resin material, metal, or the like.
  • In particular, in a case where the comb portion 142 and the handle portion 144 are formed as the separate type, they may be made of the same material or different materials depending on taste or preference of a consumer and assembled.
  • In a case where the grooming comb 140 is formed as the separate type, one of the comb portion 142 and the handle portion 144 may be replaced and used according to convenience, and may be replaced and used according to damage.
  • According to the present invention, the handle portion 144 of the grooming comb 140 may have various ornaments.
  • Herein, the various ornaments may be such as a decorative object of a crown shape exemplified in the drawings, a company logo, a symbol mark, etc., whereby it is possible to further upgrade the product's image as well as expecting a high advertisement effect of a company or product.
  • In a case where a user wants to apply mascara using the mascara container 100 with the grooming comb according to the present invention, firstly the mascara application part 120 is removed from the container body 110.
  • In other words, the mascara application part 120 is removed from the container body 110 while holding the outer cap 128. Then, the mascara application part 120 is withdrawn in a state in which the mascara contained in the container body 110 is present on the mascara application brush 126. During this, in a case where the wiper 150 is equipped, the mascara application part 120 is removed from the container body 110 while the excess mascara is wiped off.
  • Accordingly, a user applies mascara using the mascara application brush 126 to coat the mascara on the eyelashes. After applying mascara, the mascara application brush 120 is coupled again to the container body 110.
  • Meanwhile, in a case where too much mascara is applied to the eyelashes after applying mascara, or the eyelashes are clumped together, the grooming comb 140 separately received in the receiving recess 130 of the outer cap 128 is withdrawn to comb and separate the eyelashes.
  • In other words, the comb portion 142 combs through the clumpy eyelashes while holding the handle portion 144 of the grooming comb 140 withdrawn from the receiving recess 130, whereby the eyelashes can be evenly combed and separated while the clumps on the eyelashes can be removed.
  • Then, when the use of the grooming comb 140 is completed, the comb portion 142 is inserted again into the receiving recess 130 and received and stored.
  • Because the grooming comb 140 is configured such that the comb portion 142 is fully received in the receiving recess 130 while the handle portion 144 blocks the receiving recess 130, it is possible to prevent foreign contaminants from entering the receiving recess 130 during storage and carrying and to prevent contamination due to the foreign contaminants, thus enabling hygienic use of the grooming comb 140.
  • Although a preferred embodiment of the present invention has been described for illustrative purposes, those skilled in the art will appreciate that various modifications, additions and substitutions are possible, without departing from the scope and spirit of the invention as disclosed in the accompanying claims.
