Definitions
- the present invention relates to a plug-side connector and a socket-side connector for electrical connection with one another according to the preamble of claim 1.
- plug connections which consist of a plug element and a socket element.
- the plug element has one or more contact elements which are inserted into one or more corresponding socket contacts in the socket element.
- very large currents and / or voltages are transmitted via the plug-in elements and thus via their contact elements.
- test finger can be used, which corresponds to a prescribed standard IEC 60529 and is pressed with a prescribed test force against sections or openings of the plug-in element in which the contact element or elements are located. The test finger must not come into contact with the current-carrying sections of the contact elements.
- the WO 2014/187908 discloses a plug, the contact of which is partially surrounded by a protective sheath, and a plug, in which the protective sheath is formed in one piece with an insulating cap for the contact.
- the object of the present invention is therefore to provide a connector which overcomes the disadvantages of the prior art.
- a plug is specified which has a compact construction.
- Another particularly preferred object is to specify a plug which provides the best possible and constant electrical contact possible.
- a pin-side connector for electrical connection to a socket-side connector comprising a pin-side connector housing with a connector base and a connector wall, an electrically conductive contact pin with a free pin end and a base-side pin end for fastening the contact pin to the pin-side connector housing, and a Protective element which is designed to be electrically insulating.
- the protective element is arranged at a distance from the contact pin on the pin-side connector housing.
- the protective element prevents unintentional contact with the contact pin by one Fingers or the like.
- the spacing also makes it possible for a socket to electrically encompass the entire circumferential side of the contact pin.
- the pin-side connector can have one or more contact pins, in which case one or more protective elements are preferably provided.
- One protective element is preferably arranged per contact pin. Statements relating to one contact pin or protective element in each case are therefore to be understood accordingly for one or more contact pins or protective elements.
- the protective element is preferably formed separately from the contact pin.
- the protective element is a component that is formed separately from the contact pin and is arranged separately.
- a spatial area not filled with components is preferably present between the protective element and the contact pin.
- the protective element is preferably arranged at a distance in such a way that the protective element does not touch a lateral surface of the contact pin.
- the contact pin is preferably cylindrical and extends, starting from the base-side pin end in the direction of the free pin end, along a central axis.
- the plug wall is preferably designed to be electrically insulating and is arranged at a distance from the contact pin on the plug housing on the pin side.
- the connector wall preferably the entire pin-side connector housing, can also be made of an electrically insulating material, so that the protective element and also the connector wall together form an electrically insulating cover area for the contact pin.
- the plug wall can be understood as an additional protective element for the contact pin.
- the protective element is preferably arranged at a distance from the plug wall. This means that it is preferred that the protective element is arranged at a distance from the contact pin and from the plug wall on the plug housing on the pin side.
- the plug wall extends at least partially along a circumferential direction around the contact pin.
- the plug wall is preferably in relation to the contact pin in such a way that a test finger cannot be inserted between the plug wall and the contact pin.
- the plug wall seen in cross section transversely to the central axis, can be formed at least in sections as a segment of a circle or polygon or rectangular or square or from a mixture thereof.
- the plug wall preferably extends in a circular-cylindrical manner around the central axis of the contact pin.
- the protective element and the plug wall are preferably arranged quasi concentrically or eccentrically around the contact pin.
- the protective element and the plug wall are each arranged at approximately the same distance from the contact pin along a circumferential direction around the contact pin.
- the plug wall extends around an axis which is parallel to the central axis of the contact pin.
- the plug wall can be interrupted on the circumference and the protective element can be arranged in an interruption in the plug wall or in the area of an interruption.
- the plug wall can have an interruption, the protective element being arranged in this one interruption.
- the plug wall can, however, also have several interruptions so that a multi-part plug wall extends around the contact pin, the individual parts of the plug wall being arranged at a distance from one another and the protective element preferably being arranged between two such parts.
- the plug wall is not interrupted on the circumferential side and instead is formed in one piece.
- the protective element preferably has a first section, which is oriented along a first direction, and a second section, which is oriented along a second direction, in particular at an angle to the first direction, and is provided to reinforce a deformation of the first section. If the first section of the protective element is touched by a finger or the like, the second section of the protective element ensures that the first section, in particular the entire protective element, does not deform or bend due to the contact pressure.
- the protective element is preferably essentially U-shaped, the first section being formed by a base limb and the second section being formed by two opposing side limbs protruding therefrom, the side limbs facing the contact pin.
- the first direction preferably extends perpendicular to the central axis of the contact pin, and the second direction preferably extends again perpendicular to the first direction.
- the protective element in particular the base limb and the side limbs, and / or the plug wall preferably extend, starting from the plug base in the direction of the free end of the contact pin, essentially along an entire length of the contact pin.
- the base leg preferably has a width, seen transversely to the central axis, which essentially corresponds to a width of the contact pin. This means that the base leg essentially covers an entire width of the contact pin.
- the protective element preferably has a length which is at least as long in the direction of the central axis as the contact pin in the same direction.
- the protective element is particularly preferably designed to be longer than the contact pin.

- the plug wall preferably has an arcuate section which connects the two parallel wall surfaces to one another in an arcuate manner.
- the parallel wall surfaces are preferably rectangular and, starting from the pin end on the base side, extend in the direction of the free pin end along the entire length of the plug wall.
- the protective element is preferably arranged with respect to the plug wall in a plane which is defined by the central axis and an arc center point of the arc-shaped section, and the protective element is arranged in this plane centrally between the parallel wall surfaces.
- the protective element is arranged in an interruption in the plug wall, the curved section of the plug wall being arranged on the opposite side of the protective element and the two parallel wall surfaces being arranged on the sides of the interrupted plug wall adjacent to the protective element.
- the plug wall can have grooves on the outside or inside in the area of the parallel wall surfaces. These grooves can be designed, for example, in the form of elongated slots which, starting from the plug base, extend in the direction of the free pin end essentially along the entire length of the plug wall.
- the plug wall can be reinforced by the grooves. This in particular with the proviso of a simplified production by means of an injection molding process.
- the grooves are preferably designed in such a way that no excessive accumulation of material is provided, but a mechanically solid wall is nevertheless provided.
- the grooves have the particular advantage that the plug wall is mechanically robust with regard to transverse forces which are applied by a test finger.
- the protective element and / or the plug wall is preferably formed in one piece with the plug housing and form a protective arrangement for the contact pin.
- the pin-side connector has two or more contact pins, each contact pin each having a protective element, preferably likewise at least one connector wall, particularly preferably each having a protective arrangement.
- a protective arrangement is preferably provided for each contact pin.
- the protective element and the connector housing are preferably manufactured in one piece in one manufacturing step, in particular at the same time.
- the protective element is manufactured separately from the connector housing and, following manufacture, is for example passed through a corresponding recess in the connector base through the pin-side connector housing and fastened therein. It is also conceivable that the protective element and / or the plug wall are manufactured separately and then arranged on an electrically insulating protective element base which extends at least partially or completely around the contact pin.
- An electrically insulating contact protection preferably in the form of a protective cap, is preferably arranged on the free end of the contact pin.
- the socket-side plug has a socket-side plug housing with a plug base and a plug wall, and a socket which is arranged in the socket-side plug housing and is designed to receive the contact pin in the connected state.
- the socket-side connector housing has a receptacle for receiving the protective element in the connected state.
- the protective element is received in the receptacle of the socket-side connector and a connector system with a compact design is made available.
- the socket-side plug can have one or more sockets and receptacles, depending on the number of contact pins or protective arrangements of the pin-side plug.
- the receptacle preferably frames the protective element at least partially in the connected state, the protective element preferably being able to be received in the receptacle with a precise fit and / or the receptacle preferably being designed to accommodate the substantially entire length of the protective element.
- the receptacle preferably has an essentially rectangular shape, the inner surfaces of which have play in the connected state with the outer surfaces of the protective element.
- the receptacle preferably surrounds the protective element essentially completely in the region of the receptacle.
- the inner shape of the receptacle facing the protective element can be designed in such a way that it has an inner surface that is curved corresponding to the curved base leg of the protective element, as well as two in each case corresponding to the straight side legs of the protective element , has inner surfaces aligned parallel to one another.
- the socket-side plug housing preferably has a further, in particular circular, recess in which the plug wall, in particular in the form of a segment of a circle, can be received.
- the socket-side connector housing preferably also has one or more recesses.

- the front side is the side of the protective element which is oriented at right angles to the central axis and closes the protective element towards the front.
- the receptacle is provided both by the socket-side connector housing and by the conductor element.
- the conductor element preferably has a connection area for a cable and is in particular formed at an angle or parallel to the plug base of the socket-side plug housing.
- the connection area can be arranged perpendicular to the connector base.
- the arrangement of the recess in the conductor element is particularly advantageous because the protective element can then protrude into the recess in the insertion direction.

For the production of electrical and / or electronic connections between different components, lines or the like, plug connections are known which consist of a plug element and a socket element. Often the plug element has one or more contact elements which are inserted into one or more corresponding socket contacts in the socket element. In the case of electric or hybrid vehicles driven entirely or partially by electric current, very large currents and / or voltages are transmitted via the plug-in elements and thus via their contact elements.
Because of the high currents or voltages, particularly high safety requirements are placed on the plug-in elements in order to prevent unintentional contact with the contact elements by a human finger. For a corresponding test, a so-called test finger can be used, which corresponds to a prescribed standard IEC 60529 and is pressed with a prescribed test force against sections or openings of the plug-in element in which the contact element or elements are located. The test finger must not come into contact with the current-carrying sections of the contact elements.
Various possibilities are known from the prior art as to how such an unintentional touch by a finger can be prevented.
However, the provision of protective elements to protect against contact leads to an increased space requirement or lack of space, which is a disadvantage in particular in the case of plugs with several contact elements.
The object of the present invention is therefore to provide a connector which overcomes the disadvantages of the prior art. In particular, a plug is specified which has a compact construction. Another particularly preferred object is to specify a plug which provides the best possible and constant electrical contact possible.
According to the invention, this object is achieved by a plug according to
According to
The protective element prevents unintentional contact with the contact pin by one Fingers or the like.
The spacing also makes it possible for a socket to electrically encompass the entire circumferential side of the contact pin.
As will be explained below, the pin-side connector can have one or more contact pins, in which case one or more protective elements are preferably provided. One protective element is preferably arranged per contact pin. Statements relating to one contact pin or protective element in each case are therefore to be understood accordingly for one or more contact pins or protective elements.
The protective element is preferably formed separately from the contact pin. In other words, the protective element is a component that is formed separately from the contact pin and is arranged separately.
A spatial area not filled with components is preferably present between the protective element and the contact pin. The protective element is preferably arranged at a distance in such a way that the protective element does not touch a lateral surface of the contact pin.
The contact pin is preferably cylindrical and extends, starting from the base-side pin end in the direction of the free pin end, along a central axis.
The plug wall is preferably designed to be electrically insulating and is arranged at a distance from the contact pin on the plug housing on the pin side.
The connector wall, preferably the entire pin-side connector housing, can also be made of an electrically insulating material, so that the protective element and also the connector wall together form an electrically insulating cover area for the contact pin. The plug wall can be understood as an additional protective element for the contact pin.
The protective element is preferably arranged at a distance from the plug wall. This means that it is preferred that the protective element is arranged at a distance from the contact pin and from the plug wall on the plug housing on the pin side.
The plug wall extends at least partially along a circumferential direction around the contact pin. The plug wall is preferably in relation to the contact pin in such a way that a test finger cannot be inserted between the plug wall and the contact pin. In this case, the plug wall, seen in cross section transversely to the central axis, can be formed at least in sections as a segment of a circle or polygon or rectangular or square or from a mixture thereof. The plug wall preferably extends in a circular-cylindrical manner around the central axis of the contact pin.
The protective element and the plug wall are preferably arranged quasi concentrically or eccentrically around the contact pin. In the case of a concentric arrangement, the protective element and the plug wall are each arranged at approximately the same distance from the contact pin along a circumferential direction around the contact pin. In the case of an eccentric arrangement, the plug wall extends around an axis which is parallel to the central axis of the contact pin.
The plug wall can be interrupted on the circumference and the protective element can be arranged in an interruption in the plug wall or in the area of an interruption. The plug wall can have an interruption, the protective element being arranged in this one interruption. The plug wall can, however, also have several interruptions so that a multi-part plug wall extends around the contact pin, the individual parts of the plug wall being arranged at a distance from one another and the protective element preferably being arranged between two such parts.
However, it is also conceivable that the plug wall is not interrupted on the circumferential side and instead is formed in one piece.
The protective element preferably has a first section, which is oriented along a first direction, and a second section, which is oriented along a second direction, in particular at an angle to the first direction, and is provided to reinforce a deformation of the first section. If the first section of the protective element is touched by a finger or the like, the second section of the protective element ensures that the first section, in particular the entire protective element, does not deform or bend due to the contact pressure.
The protective element is preferably essentially U-shaped, the first section being formed by a base limb and the second section being formed by two opposing side limbs protruding therefrom, the side limbs facing the contact pin. The first direction preferably extends perpendicular to the central axis of the contact pin, and the second direction preferably extends again perpendicular to the first direction.
The protective element, in particular the base limb and the side limbs, and / or the plug wall preferably extend, starting from the plug base in the direction of the free end of the contact pin, essentially along an entire length of the contact pin.
The base leg preferably has a width, seen transversely to the central axis, which essentially corresponds to a width of the contact pin. This means that the base leg essentially covers an entire width of the contact pin.
The protective element preferably has a length which is at least as long in the direction of the central axis as the contact pin in the same direction. The protective element is particularly preferably designed to be longer than the contact pin.
It is preferred that the plug wall has two parallel wall surfaces on its inner surface facing the contact pin, which parallel wall surfaces are arranged opposite one another with respect to the central axis extending from the base-side pin end in the direction of the free pin end along the contact pin are and / or are each arranged at an equal distance from the central axis.
The plug wall preferably has an arcuate section which connects the two parallel wall surfaces to one another in an arcuate manner. The parallel wall surfaces are preferably rectangular and, starting from the pin end on the base side, extend in the direction of the free pin end along the entire length of the plug wall.
The protective element is preferably arranged with respect to the plug wall in a plane which is defined by the central axis and an arc center point of the arc-shaped section, and the protective element is arranged in this plane centrally between the parallel wall surfaces.
In other words, the protective element is arranged in an interruption in the plug wall, the curved section of the plug wall being arranged on the opposite side of the protective element and the two parallel wall surfaces being arranged on the sides of the interrupted plug wall adjacent to the protective element.
The plug wall can have grooves on the outside or inside in the area of the parallel wall surfaces. These grooves can be designed, for example, in the form of elongated slots which, starting from the plug base, extend in the direction of the free pin end essentially along the entire length of the plug wall. The plug wall can be reinforced by the grooves. This in particular with the proviso of a simplified production by means of an injection molding process. The grooves are preferably designed in such a way that no excessive accumulation of material is provided, but a mechanically solid wall is nevertheless provided. The grooves have the particular advantage that the plug wall is mechanically robust with regard to transverse forces which are applied by a test finger.
The protective element and / or the plug wall is preferably formed in one piece with the plug housing and form a protective arrangement for the contact pin.
Preferably, the pin-side connector has two or more contact pins, each contact pin each having a protective element, preferably likewise at least one connector wall, particularly preferably each having a protective arrangement. This means that a protective arrangement is preferably provided for each contact pin.
For this purpose, the protective element and the connector housing are preferably manufactured in one piece in one manufacturing step, in particular at the same time.
However, it is also conceivable that the protective element is manufactured separately from the connector housing and, following manufacture, is for example passed through a corresponding recess in the connector base through the pin-side connector housing and fastened therein. It is also conceivable that the protective element and / or the plug wall are manufactured separately and then arranged on an electrically insulating protective element base which extends at least partially or completely around the contact pin.
An electrically insulating contact protection, preferably in the form of a protective cap, is preferably arranged on the free end of the contact pin.
The socket-side plug has a socket-side plug housing with a plug base and a plug wall, and a socket which is arranged in the socket-side plug housing and is designed to receive the contact pin in the connected state. The socket-side connector housing has a receptacle for receiving the protective element in the connected state.
If the pin-side connector and the socket-side connector are connected to one another, the protective element is received in the receptacle of the socket-side connector and a connector system with a compact design is made available.
Here, too, it should be understood that the socket-side plug can have one or more sockets and receptacles, depending on the number of contact pins or protective arrangements of the pin-side plug.
The receptacle preferably frames the protective element at least partially in the connected state, the protective element preferably being able to be received in the receptacle with a precise fit and / or the receptacle preferably being designed to accommodate the substantially entire length of the protective element.
The receptacle preferably has an essentially rectangular shape, the inner surfaces of which have play in the connected state with the outer surfaces of the protective element. The receptacle preferably surrounds the protective element essentially completely in the region of the receptacle.
For example, for a precisely fitting reception of a U-shaped protective element as described above, the inner shape of the receptacle facing the protective element can be designed in such a way that it has an inner surface that is curved corresponding to the curved base leg of the protective element, as well as two in each case corresponding to the straight side legs of the protective element , has inner surfaces aligned parallel to one another.
The socket-side plug housing preferably has a further, in particular circular, recess in which the plug wall, in particular in the form of a segment of a circle, can be received. In the case of one or more contact pins, the socket-side connector housing preferably also has one or more recesses.
A contact element, in particular a contact lamella, is preferably arranged in the socket, which contact element is designed for electrical contact with the contact pin of the pin-side plug.
In the connected state, electrical contact is made between the contact pin and the socket via said contact element.
According to the invention, the socket is arranged in a conductor element. Said receptacle for the protective element extends into the conductor element. In other words, the conductor element has a recess into which the receptacle of the protective element extends. Consequently, the protective element protrudes through the receptacle of the plug element and through the recess in the conductor element. The current path in the conductor element runs laterally to the recess.
Said recess is preferably located below the socket.
According to the invention, the receptacle in the conductor element is arranged in such a way that the protective element is surrounded by the conductor element only on its peripheral side but not on its end face. The peripheral side is the side of the protective element which is formed by parts of the lateral surface extending around the central axis. The front side is the side of the protective element which is oriented at right angles to the central axis and closes the protective element towards the front.
Due to the fact that the receptacle extends into the conductor element, there is the advantage that the socket side can be made more compact.
In the particularly preferred embodiment, the receptacle is provided both by the socket-side connector housing and by the conductor element.
The conductor element preferably has a connection area for a cable and is in particular formed at an angle or parallel to the plug base of the socket-side plug housing. For example, the connection area can be arranged perpendicular to the connector base. In the case of the right-angled design, the arrangement of the recess in the conductor element is particularly advantageous because the protective element can then protrude into the recess in the insertion direction.
Similarly, the pin-side plug can also have a connection area for a cable, which is also angled, in particular perpendicular, or parallel to the pin-side Connector housing can be formed.
Further embodiments are given in the dependent claims.

The
Furthermore, the
In the embodiment shown here, the
As already mentioned, the figures shown here each show two
At the
Here the socket-

For a precisely fitting reception of a U-shaped
In addition to the
Thus, the pin-side connector S and the socket-side connector B can be joined together to form a

As explained above, the
Although not shown in the figures, the pin-side connector S can also have a connection area for a cable, which can also be arranged parallel or at an angle, in particular perpendicular, to the pin-
The plug housing or socket housing described above or also other plug housings and socket housings are typically produced using an injection molding process. The socket-
