Durch die Struktur der Oberfläche ist dabei eine Wirkung herbeigeführt, die beispielsweise eine kuppelartige oder spitzdachförmige Gestaltung nachbildet. Hierdurch ist beim Betrachter der Eindruck erweckt, dass, im Falle der Anbringung der Leuchtvorrichtung an der Decke, eine größere Raumhöhe als die tatsächliche Raumhöhe suggeriert wird. Bei Anbringung der Leuchtvorrichtung an vertikalen Wänden wird eine optische Vergrößerung der Raumtiefe vorgetäuscht. Auf diese Weise ist das Raumgefühl bei Betrachtung der Leuchtvorrichtung verbessert, so dass kleine Räume größer wirken. Die Gefahr von klaustrophobischen Zuständen ist dadurch reduziert.
