In this way, the horizontal movement of the actuator 400 may be translated to rotation of the lock 402, thus moving the lock 402 between a locked and an unlocked position.
  • the actuator 400 may be biased by the actuator spring 450 in a direction that corresponds with the lock 402 in the locked position, though the lock 402 may move independently of the actuator 400, and may only move the lock 402 into the unlocked position when the actuator 400 powered.

In this way, the tail 451 may provide springing forces for moving the lock 402 into the unlocked position. Stated another way, the tail 451 may be configured to bias the lock 402 in the unlocked position. However, it is contemplated that the tail 451 and the post 452 may be located and configured to bias the lock 402 in the locked position. In such exemplary embodiments, the tail 451 may instead be located above the post 452, such that the tail 451 is defected when the lock 402 is rotated into the unlocked position.
  • the actuator 400 may be biased by the actuator spring 450 in a direction that corresponds with the lock 402 being located in the locked position.
  • the actuator 400 may be periodically powered to move the actuator 400 such that the lock 402 rotated into in the unlocked position.
  • the actuator spring 450 may horizontally translate the actuator 400 to its original position, thereby returning the lock 402 to the locked position.
  • the tail 451 may be rotated with the lock 402 such that the tail 451 contacts the post 452 and likewise biases the lock 402 in the locked position.
  • a first sensor 453 may be positioned and configured to detect the location of the lid 151, such as but not limited to, whether the lid 151 is in the open or the closed position.
  • the first sensor 453 may be positioned to detect the presence or non-presence of the portion of the lid 151 forming the slot 152 in a location that would require the lid 151 be in a closed position. In this way, activation of the first sensor 453 may determine that the lid 151 is shut. Likewise, non-activation of the first sensor 453 may determine that the lid 151 is open.
  • a second sensor 454 may be positioned and configured to detect the location of the lock 402, such as but not limited to, whether the lock 402 is in the locked or unlocked position.
  • an arm 455 may extend from the lock 402 such that the arm 455 is rotated or moved with the lock 402.
  • the arm 455 may extend from the portion of the lock 402 located adjacent to the pivot point 460, though any location is contemplated.
  • the second sensor 454 may be located to detect the presence or non-presence of the arm 455 or other portion of the lock 402 in a location that would require the lock 402 be in the locked position. In this way, activation of the second sensor 454 may determine that the lock 402 is locked. Likewise, nonactivation of the second sensor 454 may determine that the lock 402 is unlocked.
  • the first sensor 453 and the second sensor 454 may be in electrical connection with a printed circuit board (PCB) 301.
  • the PCB 301 may be located on the front wall 399 of the bin 150, though any location is contemplated.
  • the PCB 301 may also be in electrical communication with the actuator 400.
  • the PCB 301 may further be in communication with an illumination element 350 located on the PCB 301 or located on or adjacent to the bottom wall of the bin 150, though any location is contemplated.
  • the illumination element 350 may be a light emitting diode (LED), luminescent polymer, or the like.
  • the lid 151 may be transparent or translucent, so that the luminance from the illumination element 350 may be visible through the lid 151 without having to open the bin 150.
  • the lock 402 and related components are configured to be located in the gap between adjacent bins 150 and the gap between the bins 150 and the delivery module 110.
  • Such related components may include, but are not limited to: the actuator 400, the pivot point 465, the actuator spring 450, the tail 451, the post 452, the pivot point 460, the latch 420 and rounded tip 421, the first sensor 453, and the second sensor 454.

Claims (15)

  1. Appareil destiné au transport, au stockage, à la distribution ou au renvoi de médicaments et de fournitures médicales comprenant :
    une pluralité de conteneurs pouvant être verrouillés individuellement (150), dans lequel chacun desdits conteneurs est substantiellement de forme rectangulaire et comprend :
    quatre parois latérales ;
    une paroi inférieure, et
    un couvercle (151) formant une fente (152) située sur une partie avant de celui-ci, dans lequel ledit couvercle est monté de matière articulée à l'une des parois latérales de sorte que le couvercle peut être déplacé sélectivement entre une position ouverte et une position fermée ;
    une pluralité de mécanismes de verrouillage, chacun associé à un de ladite pluralité de contenants pouvant être verrouillés individuellement et comprenant :
    une plaque de verrou (402) dans lequel ladite plaque de verrou est montée sur pivot à la paroi avant du contenant pouvant être verrouillé au niveau d'un point de pivotement (460) et a une partie supérieure située au-dessus dudit point de pivotement et une partie inférieure située au-dessous dudit point de pivotement,
    un verrou (420) situé sur la partie supérieure de ladite plaque de verrou (402), dans lequel ladite plaque de verrou est configurée pour être amenée à tourner sélectivement autour dudit point de pivotement (460) entre une position verrouillée, par quoi le verrou entre en prise avec ladite fente (152), et une position déverrouillée, par quoi le verrou est situé entièrement à l'extérieur de ladite fente,
    un actionneur (400) configuré pour un mouvement horizontal de manière à entrer en contact avec la partie inférieure de la plaque de verrou, amenant ainsi la plaque de verrou à tourner entre la position verrouillée et les positions déverrouillées,
    un montant (452) situé sur la paroi avant du conteneur (150), et
    une queue (451) s'étendant depuis la partie inférieure de la plaque de verrou (402) et configurée pour dévier quand elle entre en contact avec le montant (452) de manière à solliciter la plaque de verrou (402) dans la position déverrouillée ;
    et un module de délivrance (110) configuré pour recevoir ladite pluralité de conteneurs pouvant être verrouillés (150).
  2. Appareil selon la revendication 1 dans lequel :
    au moins l'une desdites quatre parois latérales de chaque conteneur est effilée de manière à former un écartement entre des conteneurs adjacents ; et le mécanisme de verrouillage de chaque conteneur respectif est situé dans l'écartement respectif.
  3. Appareil selon l'une quelconque des revendications 1 à 2 dans lequel :
    le point de pivotement est situé au niveau substantiellement du point médian de la plaque de verrou.
  4. Appareil selon l'une quelconque des revendications 1 à 3 comprenant en outre :
    un ressort d'actionneur configuré pour solliciter l'actionneur dans la direction qui place la plaque de verrou dans la position verrouillée.
  5. Appareil selon l'une quelconque des revendications 1 à 4 dans lequel :
    la fente est située sur la surface inférieure du couvercle.
  6. Appareil selon l'une quelconque des revendications 1 à 5 comprenant en outre :
    une carte de circuit imprimé (CCI) située sur la paroi latérale du conteneur pouvant être verrouillé ayant la plaque de verrou montée sur celle-ci.
  7. Appareil selon la revendication 6 comprenant en outre :
    un premier détecteur connecté électriquement à ladite CCI et positionné pour détecter si le couvercle est dans la position ouverte ou la position fermée.
  8. Appareil selon la revendication 7 dans lequel :
    ledit premier détecteur est positionné pour entrer en contact avec la partie du couvercle formant ladite fente.
  9. Appareil selon l'une quelconque des revendications 6 à 8 comprenant en outre :
    un deuxième détecteur connecté électriquement à ladite CCI et positionné pour détecter si la plaque de verrou est dans la position verrouillée ou déverrouillée.
  10. Appareil selon la revendication 9 comprenant en outre :
    un bras s'étendant depuis ladite plaque de verrou, dans lequel ledit deuxième détecteur est positionné pour entrer en contact avec ledit bras.
  11. Appareil selon l'une quelconque des revendications 6 à 10 comprenant en outre :
    un dispositif d'illumination en connexion électrique avec la CCI.
  12. Appareil selon la revendication 11 dans lequel :
    ledit élément d'illumination est situé adjacent à la paroi inférieure dudit conteneur ; et ledit couvercle est composé d'un matériau translucide ou transparent de sorte que l'élément d'illumination est visible à travers le couvercle.
  13. Appareil selon l'une quelconque des revendications 1 à 12 comprenant en outre :
    un deuxième point de pivotement situé sur ledit actionneur, dans lequel ledit deuxième point de pivotement est configuré pour interagir avec la partie inférieure de la plaque de verrou.
  14. Appareil selon l'une quelconque des revendications 1 à 13 comprenant en outre :
    un tiroir configuré pour recevoir ledit module de délivrance ; et un chariot portable configuré pour recevoir ledit tiroir.
  15. Appareil selon l'une quelconque des revendications 1 à 14 dans lequel :
    ladite pluralité de conteneurs sont tous orientés dans la même direction.
