Abstract

Description

The invention relates to a case with a side walls having a case body and a hinged lid which is integrally formed on at least one side of the case body, wherein a side wall of the case has a recess into which an overlapping segment of the lid engages.

A suitcase consists of two parts, which can be connected to each other with the help of a zipper. In order to protect the contents of the case against acting forces and also to keep the shape of the case stable, the case either has a hard shell structure or has a stabilizing frame which is at least partially provided with protective reinforcements. These reinforcements are typically integrated in the bottom of the case and the bottom of the case opposite the case. At least two rollers are usually attached to the floor, whereby the case can be carried with a simple carrying handle and pulled on an extendable handle when the rollers are to be used. Well-known cases are for example DE 10 2015 003 739 A1 or DE 10 2007 043 898 A1 known.

Especially in the case of soft material cases, the body of which is coated with a soft material, such as leather or cloth, a skeleton protecting the content or corresponding reinforcements placed on the sides of the case is of great importance. Otherwise, damage to the contents of the case may occur due to external forces acting on the case.

A disadvantage of a hard shell case is the high weight and rigidity, which is due to the existing plastic or metal hardshells. The same applies to a soft material case, which, although having a lower weight than a hard shell case, but nevertheless has a high weight due to the body or the reinforcements.

The invention has for its object to provide an alternative case, which has a low weight and yet sufficiently protects the case contents.

The object is achieved according to the invention by a suitcase according to claim 1. Further developments and advantageous embodiments of the invention are specified in the dependent claims.

According to the invention, a suitcase is provided with a case body which is bounded by a rear wall and adjoining thereto and arranged on two opposite narrow and long sides of the case body side walls, and with a hinged lid formed on at least one side of the case body is and is connectable by a zipper with the case body, wherein a side wall has a recess into which an overlapping segment of the lid engages, so that the overlapping segment at least partially forms the side wall of the case body. The case according to the invention is preferably a soft material case.

In the invention, structural and frame-stiffening elements (for example steel frames as frame skeletons on the individual suitcase sides) can be dispensed with essentially, with the stiffening properties being achieved by designing the overlapping segment and engaging it in the recess. The side wall has due to the recess only a low stability and does not provide sufficient protection against external forces acting. The stability of the side wall and also protection are however guaranteed by the fact that the overlapping segment compensates for the missing part of the side wall. As a result, the weight of the case body can be reduced.

The case body is advantageously designed such that the extending from the narrow or long sides in the direction of the lid edges are designed arched to the outside. That is, in particular, the bag corners, which are formed together by the narrow sides and long sides, may be convex. The case is still stackable and less shock sensitive due to the rounded edges. In one embodiment, the overlapping segment can be arched outwards, so that it corresponds geometrically to the rounded edges is configured of the case body and geometrically inserts into the recess in the side wall and covers it. This is advantageous because the case undergoes no losses in terms of its stackability.

By means of the zipper, the lid is connected to the case body, wherein the zipper can be provided on three sides of the case body. The cover may be integrally formed on at least one side of the case body. This may be a narrow side or a longitudinal side of the case body. It may also be preferred that the lid is integrally formed on the case body via the overlapping segment. Here, the overlapping segment is formed in particular on the recess of the side wall. The zipper may be configured as a divisible zipper with two zipper halves, with one half of the zipper running along upper edge of the body through the sidewalls and recess and another half of the zipper passing through a lid base or through the lid base and overlapping segment along the bottom edge of the lid. For the embodiment in which the lid is molded onto the case body, the lid base and the overlapping segment form the lower edge along which the half-band of the zipper runs. In this case, the cover can be moved with the overlapping segment and the overlapping segment can be fastened to the case body, in particular the recess, by means of the zipper. However, it can also be provided that the cover is formed on the over-grip segment on the case body, so that the lid base forms the lower edge along which the band half of the zipper runs.

In the recess, a limiting element can be arranged. The limiting element can either already be integrated in the case body or, if necessary, be clamped in the recess. The limiting element can prevent luggage goods from falling out of the opened suitcase. The limiting element can be configured, for example, as a net or elastic wall.

In one embodiment, it is provided that a carrying handle is integrally formed on the overlapping segment. Advantageously, the overlapping segment engages over the side wall such that the carrying handle is preferably arranged centrally on the side of the suitcase, so that the suitcase remains in the solder when worn and can be worn comfortably.

In order to keep the lid dimensionally stable, it may be advantageous to provide on the cover an at least partially encircling edge reinforcement made of plastic or metal. The edge reinforcement may be piping sewn in the cover. It has been found that the edge reinforcement in the lid improves the overall stability or integrity of the case.

In order to stabilize the carrying handle, a reinforcement made of plastic or metal which opens at the carrying handle and which at least partially surrounds the lid can be provided in the lid, which consists, for example, of piping.

In one embodiment, shape-stabilizing reinforcing elements can be provided in the case body. These may be elements of plastic or metal, which are present as segments and are integrated only to be reinforced areas of the case body. Also, the reinforcing elements may be configured as a frame or skeleton. The reinforcing elements can be present in the rear wall or the sides of the case body, these being shaped or cut to form the recess in the side wall.

It is preferred that a side wall of the case body is present as a structural rigid bottom structure formed by a stabilizing shell, are provided on the rollers. This may be the side wall opposite the side wall with the recess.

It can be provided that a reinforcing element is present in the overlapping segment. The reinforcing element arranged in the overlapping segment may be made of a plastic or metal and configured as a convex plate. A suitcase 1 is formed by a case body 2 and a lid 3. The case body 2 has a rear wall 4, to which join four side walls 5, which are aligned substantially perpendicular to the rear wall 4 and thus limit a storage space 6 in the case body 2. The side walls 5 are arranged on narrow sides 7 and longitudinal sides 8 of the case body, which lie opposite each other.

The longitudinal sides 8 have 4 rounded corners 9 in the direction of the lid 2 and the rear wall. The edges 10 of the narrow sides 7 are at least partially convex and have at least one bulge to the outside, such as in the Figures 5 and 7 indicated.

The side wall 5 on an upper side 11 of the case body 2 has a recess 12, so that the side wall 5 is formed shorter with the recess 12 at least in the region of the recess 12, as the opposite side wall 5.
