Definitions

  • the invention relates to a firing-pin mechanism for automatic and semi-automatic pistols that comprises a container for housing and guiding of a straight-running firing pin, a straight guiding firing pin and an automatic blocking element for the firing pin as described in US8413363 B .
  • Prior-art automatic blocks for automatic and semi-automatic pistols that are part of firing-pin mechanisms are generally designed in such a way that they are situated perpendicularly to the striker axis in a sliding way, or they have the form of a two-armed lever whose pivot they rotate on is perpendicular to the striker axis.
  • the present invention provides a different design of the automatic block, which brings a reduction of the overall friction forces, participating thus in elimination of the above mentioned disadvantages of the prior art.
  • the firing-pin mechanism for automatic and semi-automatic pistols in accordance with the invention comprising a container for housing and guiding of a straight-running firing pin and a blocking element for the firing pin the principle of which is that the container comprises a through hole for mounting of the firing pin and its sliding guiding along the axis of the hole identical to the longitudinal axis of the firing pin and is fitted with the blocking element for the firing pin block that is attached to the container in a rotary way.
  • the blocking element for the firing pin is mounted in such a way that it can swing round on the plane that is perpendicular to the firing pin axis.
  • the blocking element for the firing pin is preferably attached to the container with the use of a pivot.
  • the axis of the pivot is preferably parallel to the axis of the hole for mounting of the firing pin.
  • the hole for mounting of the firing pin is circular.
  • the container comprises in its bottom part, at one of its axial ends, a recess with lateral surfaces to prevent the rotary movement of the firing pin, whose rear part leans against these lateral surfaces with its sides.
  • the blocking element for the firing pin is a one-armed lever that is, with its top part, connected to the container by means of a pivot and is forced by an elastic means into a position where it engages with tooth created on the firing pin with its first projection, thus blocking the firing pin
  • the blocking element for the firing pin further comprising a second projection to control the movement of the block from the position where the block blocks the firing pin into the position where the first projection of the block gets out of the engagement with the tooth, thus releasing the firing pin for the striker of the firing pin to strike the percussion cap of the cartridge, the movement of the block being controlled by the movement of the trigger lever through the engagement of the projection of the trigger lever with the second projection of the block.
  • the above mentioned elastic means is preferably a spring mounted on the pin and forcing the block into the position where it engages with the tooth created on the firing pin with its first projection, thus blocking the firing pin.
  • the container is preferably made of plastic and it is preferably a plastic moulding.
  • the blocking element for the firing pin is positioned in a first recess provided on a flank of the container, perpendicularly to the axis of the hole, and the spring mounted on the pivot is positioned in a second recess, which is provided on the flank of the container next to the above mentioned first recess.
  • the hole for housing of the firing pin is fitted with a top guide and bottom guide for straight guiding of the firing pin in this hole with radius recesses at the lateral sides of this hole to reduce the contact area between the surface of the firing pin and the surface walls of the hole to reduce the friction forces acting against the sliding movement of the firing pin.
  • a hole for the firing pin is made in the breech, which is extended in the rear part, and the container fitted with the firing pin is inserted in this hole together with the striking spring and the catch of the striking spring, and further with the automatic block, pivot of the automatic block and spring of the automatic block.
  • a round hole is provided, which is subsequently interrupted with a radius recess from the right and left side in such a way that in the top part the hole continues with the non-recessed part of the circular hole to the rear part of the container - this is the top guide.
  • the bottom part of the non-recessed circular hole is designed in the same way as the top one in the form of a rail - this is the bottom guide.
  • the bottom guide does not continue up to the rear part of the container due to the recess for movement of the striker.
  • This guide fitted with lateral surfaces, and the used materials prevent the rotary movement of the striker.
  • the effect of the invention consists in simplicity of the assembly and in the fact that the straight movement of the firing pin is fixed by the circular hole as well as the top and bottom guide and lateral surfaces. This guiding guarantees minimal friction and thus a lower force required to tension the striking spring. It further consists in the location of the automatic blocking element for the firing pin, which consists of a one-armed lever mounted on a pivot, which is parallel to the axis of the firing pin, which prevents the forward movement of the firing pin with its lateral projection.
  • the firing pin mechanism comprises a container 30, the firing pin 1 housed in it and an automatic blocking element 46 for the firing pin 1 connected to the container 30.
  • An embodiment example of the container 30 is shown in detail in fig. 1 to 3
  • a detail of an embodiment example of the firing pin 1 is presented in fig. 4
  • figures 5 and 6 show a detail of the blocking element 46 for the firing pin 1.
  • the firing pin mechanism is housed in an automatic or semi-automatic gun in such a way that in the rear part of the breech of the gun, along the axis equal to the barrel axis, a hole for the firing pin 1 is provided that is extended in the rear part and this hole contains the container 30 fitted with the firing pin 1 together with the striking spring 47 and the lock 7 of the striking spring 47, further with an automatic blocking element 46, the pivot 40 of the blocking element 46 and the spring 48 of the blocking element 46.
  • a round hole 20 is provided, which is subsequently interrupted with a radius recess 22, 21 from the right and left side in such a way that in the top part the hole 20 continues with the non-recessed part of the hole 20 to the rear part of the container 30 - this is the top guide 23.
  • the bottom part of the non-recessed circular hole 20 is designed in the same way as the top one in the form of a rail and this is the bottom guide 24. However, it does not continue up to the rear part of the container 30 due to the recess for the movement of the firing pin 1.
  • This recess is fitted with lateral surfaces 25, 26 preventing the rotary movement of the firing pin 1.
  • the container 30 perpendicularly to the axis of the circular hole 20, there is the first recess 27 for positioning the blocking element 46, the second recess 28 for the spring 48 of the blocking element 46 and a hole 29 for the pivot 40 of the blocking element 46, which is parallel to the axis of the circular opening 20.
  • the above mentioned embodiment example is characterized in a simple assembly and further in that the straight movement of the firing pin 1 is fixed by the hole 20 as well as the top and bottom guides 23, 24 and the lateral surfaces 25, 26.
  • This guiding 23, 24 guarantees minimal friction and thus a lower force required to tension the striking spring 47.
  • the automatic blocking element 46 consists of a one-armed lever and is mounted on a block 40 that is parallel to the axis of the firing pin 1.
  • the automatic blocking element 46 with its first projection 42 prevents the forward movement of the firing pin 1 in such a way that when the firing pin 1 moves forwards, the tooth 5 of the firing pin 1 hits the first projection 42 of the automatic blocking element 46.
  • the container 30 is preferably made of plastic, e.g. as a plastic moulding.
  • Fig. 4 shows and embodiment example of the firing pin 1.
  • the front part of the firing pin 1 consists of the striker 2 and further of a recess 3 for positioning of the lock 7 of the striking spring 47.
  • the rear part of the firing pin 1 consists of the part 4 that is fitted with tooth 5 on its inner side to catch the blocking element 46 and with the tooth 6 for engagement with the top tooth 59 for pre-tensioning and tensioning of the firing pin 1.
  • Figs. 5 and 6 show an embodiment example of the automatic blocking element 46.
  • the blocking element 46 consists of a one-armed lever containing a hole 41 in its top part that the pivot 40 on which the blocking element 46 is mounted in a partially rotary way passes through. This pivot 40 is positioned in parallel to the axis of the firing pin 1 and it also serves as a shaft for the spring 48 pushing the blocking element 46 into the position where it blocks the firing pin 1.
  • the blocking element 46 has parallel lateral surfaces 44 and 45. Further, the blocking element 46 is fitted with the first projection 42, which blocks the firing pin 1 in such a way that during the forward movement of the firing pin 1 the firing pin 1 hits the first projection 42 of the automatic blocking element 46 with its tooth 5.
  • the blocking element 46 is fitted with the second projection 43 employed to control the blocking element 46 by means of the projection 49 on the trigger lever 53 (shown in fig. 7 and 9 ) in such a way that both these projections 43, 49 are arranged on an axis equal to the movement direction of the trigger lever 53.
  • the projection 49 on the trigger lever 53 approaches the second projection 43 on the block 1 and subsequently mutual interaction of the friction surfaces on the projections 43 and 49 causes deflection of the blocking element 46 and thus unblocking of the firing pin 1.
  • the design of the blocking element 46 for the firing pin 1 mounted on the container 30 enables a very easy installation into the firearm.
  • Figs. 7 presents a view of an embodiment example of the firing-pin mechanism according to the invention that comprises a container 30 and the firing pin 1 secured with the blocking element 46 housed in it.
  • a detail of the firing pin mechanism from fig. 7 is shown in fig. 8 .
  • Fig. 9 shows a view of the firing pin mechanism from fig. 7 , but with the blocking element 46 released and with the firing pin 1 in the extended position (shooting position).
  • the firing pin 1 is released in such a way that the second projection 43 of the blocking element 46 gets in contact with the projection 49 of the trigger lever 53 due to the backward movement of the trigger lever 53 in the direction A and further movement of the projection 49 of the trigger lever 53 causes deflection of the blocking element 46, so the first projection 42 of the blocking element 46 gets out of the engagement with the tooth 5 of the firing pin 1.
  • Fig. 7 shows the firing-pin mechanism in the position where the firing pin 1 from fig. 8 is partly pre-tensioned.
  • the firing pin 1 is locked by the projection 42 of the blocking element 46 in such a way that the projection 42 of the blocking element 46 obstructs the path of the firing pin 1, the unwanted forward movement of the firing pin 1 being hindered by the tooth 5 of the firing pin 1, which hits the first projection 42 of the blocking element 46 in case of an undesired movement of the firing pin 1.
  • Pressing of the trigger sets the trigger lever 53 in motion whose projection 49 hits the second projection 43 of the blocking element 46 and pushes it laterally in such a way that the first projection 42 of the blocking element 46 no longer obstructs the path of the firing pin 1 and cannot block it.
