Description

  • The invention concerns a fired water heater, especially for potable water.
  • Known are water heaters fitted with heat exchangers which contain flame pipes placed inside a chamber encased in an external jacket, where water circulates inside the chamber, supplied from the water mains via the inlet stub pipe, and discharged via the outlet stub pipe.
  • Known from document CN2535704 is a gas-fired water heater, especially for potable water, fitted with flame pipes having external ribs, placed inside a jacket in the water tank, where the jacket has an inlet pipe for cold water in its upper part, and an outlet stub pipe for hot water in its lower part. The combustion chamber is positioned axially towards the burner placed in the lower part.
  • Document EP 0 706 016 A1 discloses a fired water heater according to the preamble of claim 1 and shows a gas boiler wherein the gas heating boiler combustion chamber has a peripheral wall from which parallel and vertical hot gas draught pockets lead to a lower exhaust gas collection chamber in the bottom of the housing with exhaust gas draught connections. Flow guides are arranged at least in the upper area of the hot gas draught pockets and at a distance to the peripheral wall of the combustion chamber. The flow guides bring together the heat carrier medium flowing out between the hot gas draught pockets and direct it against a part area of the peripheral wall.
  • The known solutions are scarred by the problem of scale accumulating on the heat exchanger elements in which water temperature exceeds 60°C, which substantially reduces heater life and performance.
  • The purpose of the invention is to develop a heater of the structure which would ensure reduced accumulation of scale on the heater structural elements.
  • A fired water heater, especially for potable water, fitted with an external jacket, where there is a combustion chamber with an opening for a burner in its upper part, under which there is a chamber for the flow of the heated water, inside which there are vertical flame pipes fixed in a sieve bottoms, and where there is a cold water inlet in the heater lower part and a hot water outlet in its upper part, wherein it has a first inlet pipe for the supply of cold water placed in the lower part, with a second inlet pipe pointing towards an upper sieve bottom and fitted in the mouth of the first inlet pipe, according to the invention is characterised in that in between the mouth of the first inlet pipe and the second inlet pipe an aperture is formed over which there is a lower transverse partition in which the second inlet pipe is fitted, and where there are apertures formed between the flame pipes and the lower transverse partition, and where under the upper sieve bottom, below the mouth of the second inlet pipe for the supply of cold water, there is a first upper transverse partition, under which there is a second upper transverse partition, where in the first upper transverse partition the second inlet pipe and the flame pipes are fixed tightly, and there is an aperture formed between the second inlet pipe and the second upper transverse partition.
  • In the second upper transverse partition the flame pipes are either fixed tightly, or there are apertures formed between the flame pipes and the second upper transverse partition.
  • Preferably, the first upper transverse partition is conical in shape, with the apex pointing downwards.
  • Preferably, the heater is cylindrical in shape.
  • Supplying cold water to the lower surface of the upper sieve bottom, where cold water is heated to a temperature below 60°C at which scale does not deposit, protects the surface against scale accumulation.
  • Further benefits and advantages of the present invention will become apparent after a careful reading of the detailed description with appropriate reference to the accompanying drawings.
  • In the drawings:
    • Fig. 1 shows an axial section of the heater in axonometric projection;
    • Fig.2 depicts the heater in axial section;
    • Fig.3 shows the upper part of the heater in axial section;
    • Fig. 4 shows the lower part of the heater in axial section.
  • A fired water heater has an external jacket 1 cylindrical in shape, where in its upper part there is a combustion chamber 2 with an opening for a burner. Under the combustion chamber 2 there is a chamber 3 for the flow of the heated water, inside which there are vertical flame pipes 4 fixed in sieve bottoms 5 and 6. In the lower part of the external jacket 1 there is a first inlet pipe 7 for cold water, and in its upper part there is an outlet pipe 9 for hot water. Cold water is supplied via the first inlet pipe 7 and the second inlet pipe 8 pointing towards an upper sieve bottom 6 is fitted in the mouth of the first inlet pipe 7, where formed in between the pipes 7, 8 is an aperture 10 over which there is a lower transverse partition 11 in which the second inlet pipe 8 is fitted, and where there are apertures 12 formed between the flame pipes 4 and the lower transverse partition 11. Under the upper sieve bottom 6, below the mouth of the second inlet pipe 8 for the supply of cold water there is a first upper transverse partition 13 conical in shape with the apex pointing downwards, under which there is a second upper transverse partition 14. In the first upper partition 13 the second inlet pipe 8 and the flame pipes 4 are fixed tightly, whereas in the second upper partition 14 the flame pipes 4 are fixed tightly and between the second upper partition 14 and the second inlet pipe 8 there is an aperture 15.
  • Cold water supplied from the water main flows into the first inlet pipe 7, from where it partially flows into the second inlet pipe 8 and partially flows through the aperture 10 between the pipes 7 and 8, getting under the lower transverse partition 11, from where it flows through apertures 12 between the flame pipes 4 and the lower transverse partition 11 getting into the chamber 3, where it heats up and from where, through the aperture 15 between the second upper partition 14 and the second inlet pipe 8, it flows into the space between the upper partitions 13 and 14, and then into the space between the external jacket 1 and the wall of the combustion chamber 2. On the other hand, the cold water which is supplied via the second inlet pipe 8 flows out over the first upper transverse partition 13 and cools down the upper sieve bottom 6 while heating to a temperature below 60°C, following which it flows into the space between the external jacket 1 and the combustion chamber 2, where it blends with the hot water flowing from the space between the transverse partitions 13 and 14, from where it is discharged through the outlet pipe 9.
  • In another embodiment of the invention there are apertures formed between the flame pipes 4 and the second upper transverse partition 14. In such solution the heated water flows from chamber 3 through the apertures into the space between the transverse partitions 13, 14 and from there into the space between the external jacket 1 and the wall of the combustion chamber 2.
