Abstract

A suitcase comprises a base shell (11), a shell forming a lid (12) and means of assembly (13) for assembling the base shell (11) and the shell forming a lid (12). Two pairs of legs (20, 30) are mounted with the ability to rotate relative to one another between a folded position and a deployed position. A first pair of telescopic legs (20) is attached to the base shell (11) and the second pair of legs (30) is mounted on the base shell (11), the side (11a) of the base shell comprising a groove defining two stable positions of mounting of the legs of the second pair (30). Two unlocking handles (40a) are mounted with the ability to translate respectively on the two sides (11a) of the base shell (11), each unlocking handle (40a) being designed to move the pairs of legs (20, 30) between the folded and deployed positions. Use notably for a multipurpose suitcase.

Description

Suitcase with adjustable feet

The present invention relates to a suitcase with adjustable feet.

In general, the present invention relates to travel articles, hereinafter called suitcases, intended for the transport of any type of objects or personal effects.

More particularly, but without limitation, such a suitcase can be a travel article convertible into one or more objects for another use.

Document FR 2 981 829 thus discloses a multifunctional suitcase in the field of childcare, thereby constituting a nomadic modular equipment. Such a suitcase offers multiple functions, besides the classic function of transporting the effects and accessories of a child. In particular, the hulls of the bag may be a choice of a bath, a bed, a deckchair, a high chair or a changing table.

Such a suitcase comprises a base shell, a cover shell and means for assembling the base shell and the cover shell, so as to form a useful container.

In addition, to allow the maintenance of the height of the base shell, thus constituting a bed or a bath, or the cover shell, constituting a high chair, the bag comprises two pairs of feet. These pairs of feet are mounted in rotation relative to each other about an axis of rotation.

In a folded position, the pairs of feet are substantially parallel to one another and thus can be stored or retracted against a bottom of the bag.

In a second deployed, the pairs of feet are inclined relative to each other to maintain the height of one or other of the hulls of the bag. The present invention aims to propose a suitcase equipped with adjustable feet whose handling is easy and secure.

For this purpose, the present invention relates to a suitcase comprising a base shell, a cover shell, means for assembling the base shell and the cover shell, and two pairs of feet, said pairs of feet being mounted. in rotation relative to each other about an axis of rotation and said pairs of feet being substantially parallel to each other in a first position, said folded position, and said pairs of feet being inclined relative to each other in a second position, said extended position.

According to the invention, a first pair of feet comprises at a first end means for attaching said first pair of feet to the base shell, the feet of the first pair being telescopic; the feet of said second pair of feet comprise at one end a mounting lug of said feet respectively on two sides of the base shell, each side including a groove housing said mounting lug of said foot and extending between at least two stable positions mounting said foot; and two unlocking handles are mounted in translation respectively on the two sides of the base shell, each unlocking handle being adapted to dislodge said mounting pin from one of said at least two stable mounting positions to move the pairs of feet between said folded and unfolded positions.

Thus, the adjustment of the pairs of feet between the folded and deployed positions is implemented through two unlocking handles disposed on each side of the base shell of the bag.

Such an arrangement requires, for the manipulation and adjustment of the feet, a double action of unlocking by the user on each side of the bag.

This arrangement avoids any untimely manipulation of the feet, and in particular an accidental folding or unfolding of the pair of feet.

The handling safety of such a case is thus improved and adapted to use in the field of childcare. In a practical embodiment, at least one of said telescopic legs of the first pair comprises a jack adapted to assist the telescopic translation movement of said feet during movement of said pairs of feet between said folded and deployed positions.

The handling and in particular the deployment of the feet attached to the base shell is thus facilitated, even when the bag has a significant weight.

In a practical embodiment, allowing a reliable movement of said pairs of feet between the folded and deployed positions, at least one connecting bar extends between one end of a foot of the first pair of feet and one foot of the second pair of feet. feet, the point of attachment of the connecting bar being located between the axis of rotation of the pairs of feet and a second end of the foot of the second pair of feet.

According to a feature of practical implementation of the unlocking handle, it comprises a slide adapted to cooperate with an unlocking pin fixed to a foot of the second pair of feet, the slide having at least one adapted active portion, when translational movement of the unlocking handle, to cooperate with the unlocking pin to dislodge the mounting pin of one of said at least two stable mounting positions.

In practice, the slide of each unlocking handle advantageously has at least two active portions adapted, during a displacement in translation of the unlocking handle, to cooperate with the unlocking pin to dislodge the mounting pin respectively of said minus two stable mounting positions.

According to an advantageous characteristic, each unlocking handle is mounted in translation on a sidewall of the base shell between an unlocking position in which the mounting pin is dislodged from one of said at least two stable mounting positions, and a position locking device in which the release lug is held by a locking portion of said slide to maintain the mounting lug in one of said at least two stable mounting positions. Preferably, the bag comprises spring elements adapted to exert an elastic restoring force on the unlocking handles of said unlocking position to said locking position.

This guarantees a secure positioning of the release handles in the locking position.

According to a particularly advantageous embodiment of the invention, the assembly means comprise first assembly means extending substantially all around the base shell and second assembly means extending substantially all around. the cover shell, the first and second connecting means being assembled to close the base shell and the cover shell of the bag or dissociate to separate the base shell and the cover shell.

Such assembly means thus allow independent and separate use of the base shell and the cover shell, thus providing various functions to the bag.

The bag also comprises means for mounting said pairs of feet to the shell lid.

Thus, the pairs of feet can also allow a maintenance above the ground of the hull forming cover.

In practice, the bag comprises a flap pivotally mounted on the cover shell between a retracted position and a projecting position, said flap having a housing adapted to accommodate attachment means of the first pair of feet when the flap is in position projecting.

In a practical embodiment, the cover shell comprises two cavities adapted to the mounting respectively of the mounting lug of the first end of each foot of the second pair of feet.

In an exemplary mode of use of the bag, the cover shell is adapted to form a choice of a lounger, intended to be placed on the ground, or a lounger height resting on the pairs of feet. Similarly, when used in the field of childcare, the base shell of the bag is adapted to implement a choice of a bed, a bath or a changing table.

Finally, to facilitate the handling of such a suitcase, each foot of the second pair of feet may include a wheel.

Similarly, each foot of the first couple of feet may include a wheel.

Other features and advantages of the invention will become apparent in the description below.

We will first describe with reference to Figures 1A and 1B an embodiment of a suitcase according to the invention.

In the following description, the bag is a multifunctional suitcase intended to provide the user with many features in addition to the conventional function of transporting objects.

In the embodiment described below, such a suitcase is intended to be used in the field of childcare, and has several features for the comfort or care of a baby or toddler.

Of course, this embodiment is given solely by way of non-limiting example, the present invention, and in particular the mechanism for lifting and lowering the feet of the bag that can be applied to any type of travel articles.

In general, the bag 10 comprises a base shell 1 1 and a cover shell 12.

Assembly means 13 are provided to allow the closure of the base shell and the cover shell one above the other, thereby defining the container of the bag.

The assembly means 13 will be described later. The case comprises two pairs of feet 20, 30 rotated relative to each other about an axis of rotation 15.

As well illustrated in Figures 4A and 4B, each pair of feet 20, 30 has two feet. A first pair of feet 20 comprises two feet 21, 22 parallel to each other. Similarly, a second pair of feet 30 has two feet 31, 32 parallel to each other.

Furthermore, as illustrated in FIG. 4A, when the pairs of legs 20, 30 are in a first position, hereinafter called the folded position, the pairs of legs 20, 30 are substantially parallel to one another.

Thus, in this folded position, the four legs 21, 22, 31, 32 are substantially parallel to each other.

Conversely, in a second position, hereinafter called extended position, the pairs of feet 20, 30 are inclined with respect to each other.

In this deployed position, the pairs of feet 20, 30 are pivoted relative to each other with respect to the axis of rotation 15.

To allow this rotational movement, the feet of each pair of legs 10, 20 are mounted in pairs by a pivot connection extending in the axis of rotation 15.

In this embodiment, a first leg 21 of the first pair of legs 20 and a first leg 31 of the second pair of feet 30 are rotatably attached to each other by a link 15a.

Similarly, a second leg 22 of the first pair of legs 20 and a second leg 32 of the second pair of legs 30 are rotatably connected to each other by a pivot link 15b.

The first pair of feet 20 comprises at a first end 20a attachment means 23 of the first pair of feet 20 to the bag 10, and here to the base shell 1 January.

These attachment means 23 are fixed here at a first end 21a, 22a of the feet 21, 22 of the first pair of legs 20 and will be described later with reference to FIG. 6. Moreover, the two feet 21, 22 of the first pair of legs 20 are telescopic.

As an exemplary embodiment, each foot 21, 22 of the first pair of legs 20 is formed of aluminum profiles sliding one inside the other to allow the telescopic movement of each foot 21, 22 of the first pair of feet 20 .

Preferably, one of the telescopic legs 21, 22 of the first pair of legs 20 comprises a jack 20 ', shown schematically in Figure 4B, to assist the telescopic translation movement of the feet during the movement of the pairs of feet 20 , Between the folded position shown in Figure 4A and the extended position shown in Figure 4B.

Of course, the two telescopic legs 21, 22 may each comprise an identical jack for assisting the telescopic translation movement at each telescopic leg 21, 22 of the first pair of feet 20.

In addition to or independently of the positioning of the jacks 20 ', in this embodiment, two connecting bars 27, 28 are provided which extend between a second end 21b, 22b of a foot 21, 22 of the first pair feet 20 and a foot 31, 32 of the second pair of feet 30.

In this embodiment, the point of attachment of each connecting bar 27, 28 is situated between the axis of rotation 15 of the pairs of feet 20, 30 and a second end 31b, 32b of the second pair of feet 30.

Such a connecting bar 27, 28 assists the movement of deployment of the feet of each pair of feet 20, 30.

In this embodiment, and in a nonlimiting manner, the feet

31, 32 of the second pair of feet 30 each comprise at the second end 31b, 32b a wheel 33.

The telescopic legs 21, 22 of the first pair of legs 20 comprise at the second end 21b, 22b a support bar 24 connecting the second ends 21b, 22b between them and thus forming a support on the ground.

Of course, in an alternative embodiment, the second ends 21b, 22b of the telescopic legs 21, 22 of the first pair of feet 20 could be equipped with wheels, similar to the wheels 33 equipping the feet 31, 32 of the second pair of feet 30.

To allow their mounting on the bag 10, and here on the base shell 1 1 of the bag, the feet 31, 32 of the second pair of feet 30 have at their first end 31a, 32a a mounting pin 31c, 32c adapted to the mounting of each foot 31, 32 on each side of the base shell 1 1.

Referring now to FIGS. 2A to 2E and 3A to 3E will be described the mounting of the second pair of feet 30 on one of the sidewalls 11a of the base shell 1 1, a symmetrical assembly being carried out on the other opposite side 1 1 b of the base shell 1 1.

Here, each flank 1 1 a, 1 1 b extends in a longitudinal direction X of the bag 10.

The side 1 1 has a groove 16 housing the mounting pin 32c of the foot 32.

The groove 16 extends on the side 1 1 a of the base shell 1 1 between at least two stable positions 16a, 16b of mounting the foot 32.

In this embodiment, the groove 16 extends substantially parallel to the longitudinal direction X of the base shell January 1.

The two stable positions 16a, 16b are arranged spaced apart from one another in the length of the groove 16, in the longitudinal direction X of the base shell January 1.

Thus, the two stable positions 16a, 16b are arranged at two opposite ends of the groove 16.

When the mounting pin 32c of the foot 32 of the second pair of feet 30 is at the end of travel on one side or the other of the groove 16, it occupies one of two stable positions 16a, 16b of mounting.

Of course, this embodiment is an example and the groove 16 could have more than two stable mounting positions. For example, a third stable mounting position, midway between the two stable positions 16a, 16b located at the ends of the groove 16 could be provided to provide an intermediate position for lifting the feet like this. will appear below in the description of the mechanism for lifting and lowering the pairs of feet 20, 30.

Each stable position 16a, 16b is here formed of a groove portion extending in the height of the base shell 1 1, that is to say in a direction Y substantially perpendicular to the direction of elongation of the groove 16, parallel to the longitudinal direction X of the base shell 1 1.

In order to allow locking and displacement of the mounting pin 31c, 32c of each foot 31, 32 of the second pair of feet 30, the bag is equipped with two unlocking handles 40a, 40b respectively mounted in translation on both flanks 1 1 a, 1 1 b of the base shell 1 1.

In principle, each unlocking handle 40a, 40b is adapted to dislodge the mounting pin 31c, 32c from one of two stable positions 16a, 16b to move the pairs of legs 20, 30 between the folded and unfolded positions.

An unlocking handle 40a will be described below equipping a first side 1 1 a of the base shell 1 1, the second handle 40b having similar and symmetrical characteristics to equip the second side 1 1b of the base shell 1 1.

In this embodiment, the unlocking handle 40a comprises a slideway 41 adapted to cooperate with an unlocking pin 32d fixed to the foot 32 of the second pair of feet 30.

Of course, similarly, the other foot 31 of the second pair of feet 30 has an unlocking pin 31 d identical.

As illustrated in FIG. 4B, the unlocking pin 32d is fixed to the first end 32a of the foot 32 of the second pair of feet 30.

In this embodiment, the release lug 32d extends away from the mounting lug 32c at the first end 32a of the leg 32 of the second pair of legs 30.

Thus, when the pairs of legs 20, 30 are mounted on the base shell 1 1 of the bag, the mounting lugs 31c, 32c and the release lugs 31d, 32d extend in a direction Z perpendicular to the plane XY in which extends the side 1 1a of the base shell 1 1 and the groove 16 described above.

The slideway 41 comprises at least one active portion 41a, 41b adapted, during the translational movement of the unlocking handle 40a, to cooperate with the release lug 32d to dislodge the mounting lug 32c of one of the two stable positions 16a, 16b mounting.

In this embodiment, the groove 41 comprises two active portions 41a, 41b adapted, during a displacement in translation of the unlocking handle 40a, to cooperate with the release pin 32d to dislodge the mounting pin 32c respectively of the two stable positions 16a, 16b of mounting.

More specifically, the slide 41 of the unlocking handle 40a has a main portion which extends substantially in the longitudinal direction X of the base shell 1 1 and vis-à-vis the groove 16 of the sidewall 1 1a.

At each end of the main portion of the slideway 41 is provided one of the active portions 41a, 41b.

Each active portion 41a, 41b has an inclined portion 41a, 41b extending from the main portion 41 of the slideway 41.

Each active portion or inclined portion 41a, 41b further has an end forming a blocking portion 41c, 41d of the slide 41.

Each blocking portion 41c, 41d here consists of a slide portion substantially parallel to the main slide portion 41 and offset in the height Y of the sidewall 1 1a of the base shell 1 1 relative to the portion main slide 41.

As well illustrated for example in FIGS. 2A and 2B, the unlocking handle 40a is mounted in translation on the sidewall 1 1a of the base shell 1 1 between an unlocking position (FIG. 2B) and a locking position (FIG. 2A). ) which will be described below.

To achieve this translational movement, the unlocking handle 40a is for example integral with pads 42 slidably mounted in oblong grooves 43 of the base shell 1 1, to guide the translational movement of the handle of unlocking 40a while controlling the end of travel in translation at both ends of the displacement.

Of course, an inverted mounting can be envisaged or any other means of guiding in translation of the release handles 40a, 40b.

In this embodiment, the unlocking handle 40a is secured to four studs 42, mounted in a rectangle arrangement.

Four oblong grooves 43 are provided in the sidewall 11a of the base shell 11 and extend in the longitudinal direction X of the base shell 11.

The displacement of the unlocking handle 40a is thus carried out in translation along the longitudinal direction X of the base shell 1 1 of the bag 10.

Spring elements 44 are adapted to exert a resilient restoring force on each unlocking handle 40a, 40b from the unlocking position to the locking position.

In a nonlimiting manner, in this embodiment, the spring elements consist of a helical spring mounted in a housing.

When moving the release handle 40a to the unlocking position, the spring member 44 is compressed so that the release of the unlocking handle 40a causes its elastic return to the locking position.

The elastic return means of the unlocking handle 40a can be implemented by any type of known means forming a spring.

The lifting movement of the bag 10 will now be described more specifically with reference to FIGS. 2A to 2E.

As illustrated in FIG. 2A, the unlocking handle 40a is firstly in a locking position, the mounting pin 32c of the foot 32 being held in a first stable position 16a of the groove 16 thanks to the first portion of 41 c lock of the slide 41 of the unlocking handle 40a cooperating with the release lug 32d.

As illustrated in FIG. 2B, when the unlocking handle 40a is displaced in translation along the sidewall 1 1a of the base shell 1 1, to the unlocking position, the unlocking pin 32d of the foot 32 is driven by the first inclined portion or active portion 41a of the slide.

This movement causes the release lug 32d to descend in the Y direction, thus causing the mounting lug 32c outside the first stable position 16a of the groove 16.

As illustrated in Figure 2C, the unlocking handle 40a is biased resiliently in the locking position. The mounting pin 32c then slides in the groove 16 and the release pin 32d slides in a similar way in the main portion of the slide 41 of the unlocking handle 40a.

This movement in translation of the end 32a of the foot 32 of the second pair of feet 30 has the effect of causing the deployment of the two pairs of feet 20, 30 mounted in rotation about the axis of rotation 15, since the first couple of feet 20 is attached to the base shell 1 1.

This deployment movement is assisted by the jack or cylinders 20 'mounted inside each foot 21, 22 of the first pair of feet 20.

At the end of the stroke of the mounting pin 32c, as shown in Figure 2D, it is housed in the second stable position 16b mounting.

As clearly illustrated in FIG. 2E, the second locking portion 41 d of the slideway makes it possible to lock the unlocking lug 32d opposite the mounting lug 32c placed in the second stable position 16b of the groove 16.

The feet 21, 22, 31, 32 are thus maintained in the high position, the force of the cylinder or jacks blocking the two pairs of legs 20, 30 in the high position for different uses of the bag.

An inverse movement is made to lower the base shell 1 1 of the bag as described with reference to Figures 3A to 3D.

Thus, as shown in FIG. 3A, the handle 40a is moved from the locking position to the unlocking position so that the second inclined portion or active portion 41b of the slideway 41 causes displacement in the Y direction (downwards in FIG. 3A) the unlocking pin 32d, and thus the mounting pin 32c outside the second stable position 16b of the groove 16.

This movement is further facilitated by giving a downward impulse to the base shell 1 1.

As illustrated in FIG. 3B, the mounting pin 32c slides in the groove 16 while the unlocking pin 32d slides symmetrically in the main portion of the slide 41 of the unlocking handle 40 to the end race of the groove 16.

When the unlocking handle 40a as shown in FIG.

3C is resiliently biased towards the blocking position, the first active portion or inclined portion 41a of the slideway 41 causes upward movement in the Y direction the release pin 32d, and thus the mounting pin 32c in the first stable position 16a of the groove 16.

At the end of travel of the unlocking handle 40a, on its return to the locking position as illustrated in FIG. 3D, the first locking portion 41c holds the unlocking pin 32d in position so as to maintain the pin 32c in the first stable position 16a of the groove 16.

Thus, in this position, the two pairs of legs 20, 30 are folded against the bag, and more precisely against the bottom of the base shell 1 January.

As before, the jack or cylinders can assist the lowering of the bag from the deployed position to the folded position.

It should be noted that because of the assembly of two independent handles

40a, 40b on each side of the bag 10, it is necessary to simultaneously actuate the two unlocking handles to obtain the displacement of the pairs of feet 20, 30 from a folded position to the deployed position and vice versa.

This arrangement ensures the safe handling of these feet. Furthermore, in this embodiment, and in a nonlimiting manner, it will be noted that the sidewall 1 1 a of the base shell 1 1 of the case 10 comprises a groove 1 1 'adapted to be housed in the thickness of the sidewall 1. 1 to the foot 32 of the second pair of feet 30 when the latter is in a folded position.

A similar groove (not shown in the figures) is provided on the other side 1 1b of the base shell 1 1 to accommodate the other foot 31 of the second pair of feet 30.

This arrangement avoids an extra thickness of the feet and thus limit the foot space when they are in the folded position against the bottom of the bag 10.

This lifting and lowering mechanism of the bag 10 thus facilitates the handling of the bag.

In summary, it is found that when the two pairs of feet 20, 30 are folded over themselves and stored under the bag 10, simply pull the two unlocking handles 40a, 40b on either side of the hull. base 1 1.

This action makes it possible to force on the release lug 31d, 32d of each foot 31, 32 of the second pair of feet 30 and thus to drive each mounting lug 31c, 32c into the groove 16, the unlocking lug 31 d, 32d following the movement of the slide 41 provided in each unlocking handle 40a, 40b.

The downward movement of the mounting pin 31c, 32c according to the height Y of the sidewall of the bag 10 makes it possible to initiate the lifting of the bag.

The force of the jack or cylinders mounted inside the profiles of the telescopic legs 21, 22 of the first pair of feet 20 can assist the lifting of the bag as its lowering.

Note that in the folded position, a closure clip or any other locking system can be used to lock the two pairs of legs 20, 30 in the folded position.

Unlocking such a closure clip can be performed manually by the user, before lifting the bag, or be controlled when actuating the release handles 40a, 40b. FIG. 6 illustrates more specifically the fitting of the first pair of legs 20 to the basic shell 1 1.

The attachment means 23 are constituted in this embodiment of an attachment bar 23 connecting the two feet 21, 22 of the first pair of legs 20.

This attachment bar 23 is adapted to cooperate with lugs 25 integral with the bottom of the base shell 1 January.

The lugs 25 thus form fingers or hooks for holding the fastening bar 23.

When the base shell is mounted on both pairs of feet

20, 30 as illustrated for example in Figure 5A, simply pull on the two release handles 40a, 40b on each side of the base shell 1 1 and tilt the base shell upwards.

At a certain angle of inclination, of the order of 30 degrees, the base shell 1 1 can be detached at the attachment bar 23 of the first pair of feet 20.

The movement of the two unlocking handles 40a, 40b and an upward movement of the base shell 1 1 can extract each mounting pin 31c, 32c of the first stable position 16a mounting.

The base shell 1 1 can then be detached from the pairs of legs 20, 30 as shown in Figure 5B.

To reposition the base shell 1 1 on the two pairs of legs 20, 30 in the deployed position, the opposite approach is achieved: the base shell 1 1 is positioned with an inclination angle of the order of 30 degrees to nest the attachment bar 23 in the hooks 25 provided under the bottom of the base shell 1 1.

By redepositing the base shell 1 1 horizontally, the mounting lugs 31c, 32c fit into the grooves 16 at the first stable positions 16a mounting.
