A covering device (6) of an axle box (5) adapted and configured to be coupled to an axle box (5) so as to define an inner compartment (26) between the axle box and the covering device, wherein the covering device (6) comprises an electric generator (23) housed in the inner compartment (26) adapted to produce electric power by converting part of the rotational kinetic energy of the axle (3), wherein the electric generator (23) comprises a stator (200) having a stator winding (201) wound on a metal sheet (202).
