Description

  • The present invention relates to a cooling device comprising a cover mechanism that prevents dust, paper etc. particles from being sucked by the fan.
  • In cooling devices, for example in refrigerators or freezers, a suction force is generated due to the operation of the fan that is disposed for the aim of cooling the condenser. Since the cabin base region of the cooling device is empty, the dust, paper, plastic etc. particles on the ground where the cooling device is placed are sucked due to the suction force of the fan and impact the fan. Therefore, the cooling performance of the cooling device is adversely affected due to the operation of the fan.

  • In the state of the art Japanese patent document JPS5379745 , an electron beam welding method is disclosed.
  • The aim of the present invention is the realization of a cooling device wherein the dust, paper etc. particles on the ground are prevented from being sucked by the fan.
  • The cooling device realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention, explicated in the first claim and the respective claims thereof, comprises a cover mechanism that covers the opening in the cabin base region corresponding to the part wherein the fan is fixed.
  • By means of the present invention, the dust, paper etc. particles on the ground where the cooling device is placed are prevented from being sucked by the fan and adversely affecting the operation of the fan.
  • According to the present invention, the cover mechanism comprises a cover and a slit whereto the said cover is installed. The cover extends from the rear wall towards the support member and is secured, with one portion remaining over the slit, the other portion under the slit such that the opening between the rear wall and the support member is covered. When mounted on the cooling device, the cover mechanism covers the opening in the cabin base corresponding to the fan and prevents the suction of particles such as dust, paper, etc. by the fan on the ground where the cooling device is placed.

    • Figure 1 - is the sideways detailed view of the cooling device.
    • Figure 2 - is the front view of the cabin base region of the cooling device.
    • Figure 3 - is the perspective view of the panel..
    • Figure 4 - is the view of the cover mechanism.
    • Figure 5 - is the perspective detailed view of the assembly phases of the panel, the support member, the opening and the cover mechanism.
    • Figure 6 - is the sideways detailed view of the assembly phases of the panel, the support member, the opening, and the cover mechanism.
    • Figure 7 - is the perspective view of the cover mechanism before being bent.
    • Figure 8 - is the perspective view of the cover mechanism when bent in the vertical direction.
    • Figure 9 - is the perspective view of the cover mechanism when bent in the horizontal direction.
  • The elements illustrated in the figures are numbered as follows:
    1. 1. Cooling device
    2. 2. Compressor
    3. 3. Condenser
    4. 4. Fan
    5. 5. Casing

  • The cooling device (1), for example refrigerator or freezer, comprises a body; a compressor (2) that enables the refrigeration cycle to be performed; a condenser (3) that enables the refrigerant fluid to be condensed; a fan (4) providing the cooling of the condenser (3) by blowing air thereon; a casing (5) wherein the compressor (2), the condenser (3) and the fan (4) are placed; a panel (7) that forms the rear and upper wall (8 and 9) and the body base (10) of the casing (5) (Figure 3); a support member (6) that is disposed inside the casing (5) and whereon the compressor (2), the fan (4) and the condenser (3) are fixed; an opening (A) along the support member (6) that remains between the support member (6) and the rear wall (8) and a cover mechanism (11)
    • that is disposed between the support member (6) and the rear wall (8) and
    • that covers the opening (A) at the level of the fan (4),
    • with one end bearing against the part of the support member (6) where the fan (6) is fixed, and
    • the other end to the rear wall (8) (Figure 1 and Figure 2).
  • In the cooling device (1) of the present invention, the opening (A) remaining between the support member (6) and the rear wall (8) and particularly corresponding to the part where the fan (4) is located, is covered by the cover mechanism (11). Thus, the particles such as dirt, dust, paper, plastic, etc. on the base of the cooling device (1) are prevented from making noise by reaching the fan (4) by passing from the said opening (A) due to the suction force resulting from the rotation of the fan (4) and even from hindering the operation of the fan (4).
  • The cover mechanism (11) comprises a plate-shaped cover (12) having two locking members (13) situated oppositely on the portion thereof bearing against the rear wall (8) and protruding to the sides and a fixing element (14) that extends over the support member (6) and forms a protrusion when placed over the opening (A) (Figure 7), and a slit (15) arranged at the portion of the panel (7) that forms the base (10) of the body, and whereto the cover (12) is mounted (Figure 4).
  • In this embodiment, the locking members (13) are situated on the same direction and the fixing element (14) is situated in a direction perpendicular to the direction of the locking members (13).
  • The cover mechanism (11) is mounted on the cooling device (1) in the flowing manner: The cover (12) is inserted into the slit (15) until the locking members (13) bear against the body base (10). When the locking members (13) bear against the base (10) of the body, the cover (12) can no longer move in the slit (15). In this situation, a rotation axis (X) is formed on the cover (12) by bending first in the vertical direction (Figure 8) then in the horizontal direction on the line that joins the locking members (13) by the person who performs the assembly of the cover mechanism (11) on the cooling device (1) (Figure 9). Thus, the part of the cover (12) where the locking members (13) are located remains over the body base (10) of the panel (7) and the other part where the fixing element (14) is located remains thereunder. Thus, the cover mechanism (11) that is tried to be pulled by the suction force of the fan (4) is prevented from moving. The part that remains under the body base (10) and having the fixing element (14) at its end, extends over and bears against the support member (6) such that the opening (A) is closed. In this situation, the cover mechanism (11) is fixed on the cooling device (1) between the support member (6) and the rear wall (8). The cover mechanism (11) forms approximately an angle of 30° between the slit (15) against which the cover mechanism (11) bears and the point against which the cover mechanism (11) bears on the support member (6). Thus, the cover mechanism (11) that cannot stretch any further prevents particles such as dust, paper, etc. from reaching the fan (4) (Figure 5 and Figure 6).
