Definitions
- Animal ear tag which has an electric battery.
- the invention relates to an animal ear tag which has an electric battery.
- battery always means an electric battery, regardless of whether it is dischargeable only once or repeatedly rechargeable and dischargeable.
- Batteries are mainly used for energy supply by portable electrical appliances independent of the electrical energy supply network. They must be compact, position-independent, lightweight and yet mechanically robust. During normal storage, they must neither leak nor outgas. With respect to the electrochemically active components and the geometric shapes and sizes, a variety of designs are standardized, known and commercially available. Typical external shapes are elongated or disk-shaped circular cylinders, rectangular prisms, and prisms having a pair of opposing elongated side surfaces which are arched outwardly. When selecting a specific battery for a specific application, the criteria "amount of energy to be stored", “electrical voltage output” and “space” are mostly most important.
- AT 509 892 Bl describes an active ear tag. It is proposed to make the ear tag, which is equipped with a battery, so that the center of gravity of the ear tag is in the axis of that dome, which extends for the purpose of attaching the ear tag to an auricle of an animal through a pierced through hole in the auricle ,
- the batteries outlined in AT 509 892 B1 are circular disk-shaped or circular-cylindrical.
- the ear tag advantageously does not tend to oscillate.
- the disadvantage is that the arrangement of the battery in the housing of the ear tag causes the outer dimensions of the ear tag, in particular in the direction parallel to the mandrel axis are quite large. This size causes the ear tag to hang anywhere as the animal moves or other animals to bite it.
- the object underlying the invention is to make an animal ear tag, which electronics, battery and a housing enclosing both that they, even if a relatively large battery must be used, seen from the outside can be as flat and approximately circular disk-shaped.
- the battery in the form of a circular ring.
- the circular ring can be closed in an annular manner or can also be open.
- the battery is of annular design, it can be wider and flatter with the same storage capacity compared with other batteries, and it provides space in the enclosed volume region for circuit elements or fastening elements.
- circuit parts are surrounded by the battery, these circuit parts are well protected by the battery both mechanically and thermally, as well as particularly well shielded with respect to electromagnetic radiation.
- the enclosed volume area is advantageously usable for anchoring the tip of that dome which connects the parts of the animal ear tag located on both sides of the auricle.
- the animal ear tag is also simply designed so that it is coaxially shaped to the axis of the dome and the focus of the entire animal ear tag in the axis of the dome or very close to it.
- the battery is dimensioned so strong that a single battery charge is sufficient for the entire duration of carrying the animal ear tag, so for the first time still a beneficial small, flat and on top of balanced construction of the animal ear tag can be realized. It means a saving in costs and a significant improvement in reliability when the battery does not need to be replaced for the entire duration of carrying the animal ear tag.
- Fig. 1 shows an exemplary battery which can be used in an animal ear tag according to the invention.
- Fig. 2 shows the battery of Fig. 1 in a perspective view
- FIG. 3 shows a partial sectional view of a first exemplary inventively designed animal ear tag.
- FIG. 4 shows a front view of a second exemplary inventively designed animal ear tag.
- the exemplary battery 1 of Fig. 1 has on the outside an annular cell cover 2, which forms the negative pole, and an annular housing 3, which forms the positive pole. Inside are the anode 5, the cathode 6 and an intermediate separation layer 4.
- the anode 5 may for example consist of zinc powder in gel; the cathode 6, for example of mercury oxide.
- the animal ear tag 8 according to the invention from FIG. 3 comprises an active part 9 as well as a counterplate 10 with which a mandrel 11 is monolithic.
- the mandrel 11 connects the two parts together and passes through a passage opening in the outer ear of the animal.
- the active part 9 comprises a housing 12 and the parts arranged therein battery 1 and electronic circuit thirteenth
- the electronic circuit 13 is arranged on the front side on one side of the battery 1.
- the tip of the dome 11 protrudes when mounted animal ear tag 8 in the volume surrounded by the battery 1 and is hooked there in an opening of the housing 12. It is immediately apparent that even with the use of a very large and therefore long-lasting battery 1 a flat and balanced construction of the animal ear tag 8 is achieved.
- the battery 1 can also mechanically support the circuit 13.
- the animal ear tag 14 of FIG. 4 consists of a relatively large-area plate part 15 and an active part 16 of smaller area.
- the badge part 15 is usually provided with a widely visible distinctive individual inscription.
- the active part 16 comprises in a housing - not shown - active electronic circuit and a battery 17, which is formed in this case as an open circular ring about the axis 18. Coaxially with the circular ring formed by the battery 17 extends the mandrel 19, which forms the connection extending through the auricle to a counter-plate (not shown).
- the angle through which the open circular ring represents the battery 17 extends by at least 180 °.
