Description

"A DEVI CE FOR SPI NNI NG MACHI NE FOR SCREW I NG AND/ OR UNSCREW I NG OPERATI ON DURI NG PROCESSI NG
OF RUBBER COT ARBOURS"
Fl ELD OF INVENTION:
The invention relates to a field of textile machinery. More particularly it relates to the processing of rubber cot arbours. Specifically it relates to device suitable for use in spinning machine for screwing and/or unscrewing operation during processing of finished and unfinished rubber cots.
PRIOR ART:
In textile machinery rubber cot arbours assemblies are widely used. The rubber cot arbours assembly is mainly used in producing compact yarn on ring spinning machine of textile manufacturing. There are large quantities rubber cot arbours assemblies used in spinning or similar type mill to run ring-spinning machine with compact spinning system. The rubber cot arbours assembly consists of two-part housing, big diameter rubber cot arbour, small diameter rubber cot arbour, gear assembly and Allen screw.
In existing systems, in spinning mill at regular intervals/ schedules, the grinding or buffing of big & small rubber cot arbours of the rubber cot arbours assembly or similar type assembly is being carried out. This is required due to continuous running wear-out of rubber surface and hence rubber surface roughness change. For carrying the grinding of rubber cot arbours during regular maintenance schedule, the rubber cot arbours assemblies have to be disassembled by removing small and big cot from the assembly. Referring to figures 1(a) and 1(b), the rubber cot arbour assembly (1) includes small (2) and big (3) rubber cot arbours. The both rubber cot arbors are in contact with each other with the help of covers (4, 5) to be fitted with alien screw (9). The Allen screw used for holding two part (4, 5) of covers requires exact tightening torque. The rubber cot arbour assembly (1) further includes gear assembly (6) which is operationally in contact with the gear assemblies (7, 8) of the small and big rubber cot arbours respectively.
The cover is typically made of plastic material. The cover keeps the rubber cot abrours intact and at the same time it protects rubber cots from any damage. For finishing purpose it is required to remove cover. Generally plastic cover is fixed on to the rubber cot arbours using alien screw. Conventionally and in state of art technology, the screwing and unscrewing operations are carried out manually by the operator/labourer. But since rubber cot arbours are very dedicated articles, there are chances of getting it damaged due to manual handling. Also manual handling is not accurate and is very time consuming. Further, manual handling demands for skilled operator/labourer. In short, due to manual handling production cost increases significantly.
Further, some of the screwing-unscrewing devices are discussed herein after. US Patent No. 3674070 describes a hand tool having the ability to engage various types and sizes of screw fastener heads. The hand tool comprises a bundle of wires held in a generally tubular housing with one end of the bundle projecting slightly beyond the end of the housing. The other end of the bundle presses against a deformable cell located in the housing. A handle is attached to the other end of the housing. When the projecting wires are pressed against the head of a screw fastener, the wires deform about the head thereby making a replica mold of the surface of the screw fastener head. Lateral torque thereafter applied to the handle causes the deformed wires to transmit this torque to the screw causing it to rotate.
US Patent No. 4158375 discloses screwdriver comprising a shank, a conventional screw driving head projecting from one end of the shank and in alignment therewith and characterized by an auxiliary screw driving head including a pair of auxiliary screw driving bits projecting from opposite sides respectively relative to the shank and angularly arranged relative to each other whereby a screw with a limited overhead space may be screwed by alternative engagement of the auxiliary screw driving bits with the head of the screw and progressive complementary rotation of the auxiliary bits. The latter are angularly arranged at different angles relative to the shank each as seen in front view. Thus for slotted head screw the auxiliary ribs are angularly offset one relative to the other by an angle of preferably 90° between them as seen in front view to complementarily produce a rotation of 180°. For an alien screw or phillips screw the auxiliary bits are similarly offset by preferably 45° to complementarily produce a rotation of 90°.
However, the afore discussed screwing-unscrewing devices are not automatic in working. Manual intervention is required for their operation which leads to deficiencies like skilled operator, increased production cost, lesser lifespan of the rubber cot arbours.
Hence it is necessary to develop a mechanism to handle screwing and/or unscrewing operation in rubber cot arbours which will be free from foregoing problems. OBJECTS OF THE I NVENTI ON:
The principle objective of the present invention is to provide an automated system with definite torque to unscrew and screw of Allen screw that is used for holding two parts of covering connecting big rubber cot arbour and small rubber cot arbour.
Another objective of the invention is to provide a device suitable for use in spinning machine for screwing and/or unscrewing operation during processing of finished and unfinished rubber cots which has fully automated operation.
Further objective of the invention is to provide device suitable for use in spinning machine for screwing and/or unscrewing operation during processing of finished and unfinished rubber cots which protects rubber cot arbours from damage occurred due to manual processing.
Another objective of the invention is to provide the device suitable for use in spinning machine for screwing and/or unscrewing operation during processing of finished and unfinished rubber cots which ensures fast and error less processing of rubber cots.
Another objective of the invention is to provide the device suitable for use in spinning machine for screwing and/or unscrewing operation during processing of finished and unfinished rubber cots which ensures less manpower and thereby reduces production cost.
Still another objective of the invention is to provide the device suitable for use in spinning machine for screwing and/or unscrewing operation during processing of finished and unfinished rubber cots which is easy to operate and maintain.
Yet another objective of the invention is to provide the device suitable for use in spinning machine for screwing and/or unscrewing operation during processing of finished and unfinished rubber cots in which it is easy to modify the settings of the machine.

A push button or sensor (600) is provided for the control unit (500) for start/stop operation of the device.
Referring to figures 7(a) to 7(u), detailed working of the device of present invention is illustrated. i. Upper jaw (205) move upward and lower jaw (206) move downward. Placing rubber cot arbour set (11, 12) having cover (13, 14) fitted on it, on the gripping assembly (200). [Figures 7(a)-7(c)] ii. Unscrewing, by the screwing and unscrewing assembly (100) set in unscrewing mode, the fastening screw (9) to separate rubber cot arbour set (11, 12) of from the cover (13, 14). After unscrewing, the cover held partially by the upper jaw (205) and partially by the lower jaw (206).
[Figures 7(d)-7(h)] iii. Removing Unfinished rubber cot arbours (11, 12) from separated rubber cot arbour set for further process i.e. buffing. [Figures 7(i)-7(j)] iv. Upper jaw (205) move upward and lower jaw (206) move downward. Placing the finished rubber cot arbour set on the lower jaw (206) of the gripping assembly (200). [Figures 7(k)-7(m)] v. Fixing the cover (13, 14) on the rubber cot arbour using fastening screw (9). The screwing done by the screwing and unscrewing assembly (100) set in screwing mode. [ Figures 7( n) -7( r) ] vi. Upper jaw (205) move upward and lower jaw (206) move downward. Removing rubber cot arbour set (11, 12), having cover (13, 14) fitted on it, from the gripping assembly (200). [ Figures 7(s)-7( u)] .
While various embodiments of the present invention have been described above, it should be understood that they have been presented by way of example only, and not limitation. It will be understood by those skilled in the relevant art that various changes in form and details may be made therein without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention.
