Description

  • The present invention relates to a cooker comprising a sealing element that is mounted under the burner plate.
  • In gas cookers, the gas flow and the flame power are adjusted by the knob connected to the tap shaft being rotated by the user. The tap that controls passage of gas and that is controlled by the knob is connected to the tap shaft. Sealing elements are disposed between the tap shaft and the burner plate for preventing liquid entry and for providing rotation of the tap shaft. However, the conventional sealing elements are seen from under the knob and cause decrease in quality perception. Furthermore, in state of the art embodiments, while the gas power level is adjusted, complex hydraulic or spring systems are used for discerning the levels.
  • In the state of the art European Patent Application No. EP2594423 , a control means is disclosed, having a ring-shaped selector able to be shifted in at least two angular positions and a notching means for retaining the selector in the determined angular position.
  • European Patent Application EP 1 541 928 A1 discloses a flame control of a gas cooker having a turnable axially moveable actuator shaft extending through an aperture in a cover, and a seal element for the aperture on top of the cover. The seal element has an associated sealing washer of a different material, which is connected non-turnable to the shaft.
  • The aim of the present invention is the realization of a cooker comprising an improved sealing element.
  • The cooker realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention, explicated in the first claim and the respective claims thereof, comprises a sealing element that is mounted on the tap shaft, that rotates together with the tap shaft and that provides leak-proofing between the burner plate and the knob. Thus, the liquid spilled on the burner plate is prevented from passing to the lower casing where the gas pipes are located.
  • In the present invention, the cooker comprises a cut-out disposed on the support plate and having steps on its periphery. Thus, as the sealing element goes over the steps, making rotational movement inside the cut-out, the user can feel the passing steps.
  • In the present invention, the sealing element comprises at least one cam element which is elastic. The cam is seated on the steps while passing over the steps.
  • In an embodiment of the present invention, the cooker comprises the sealing element wherein the cam elements are coplanar with the cut-out. Thus, the steps located in the cut-out can contact the cam element. Furthermore, the sealing element is fixed in its place in the cooker by the area remaining between at least two cam elements being between the support plate and the burner plate.
  • In an embodiment of the present invention, the sealing element is manufactured from plastic material. Consequently, the cam element stretches inwards and then resumes its initial position while passing over the steps and also enables the user to feel this movement. Furthermore, it becomes easy to mount the sealing element in its position in the cooker.
  • By means of the present invention, the liquids that spill on the cooker is prevented from leaking into the lower casing where the gas pipes pass and at the same time the user is enabled to feel the current flame level. Furthermore, the visual integrity of the cooker is maintained by the sealing element being located under the burner plate.
  • A cooker realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention is illustrated in the attached figures, where:

  • The cooker (1) comprises a burner plate (2), a support plate (3) disposed under the burner plate (2), at least one burner (4) arranged on the burner plate (2), at least one knob (5) which the user controls for adjusting the flame power of the burner (4), a tap (6) that controls passage of gas, and a tap shaft (7) that enables the tap (6) to be opened and closed by the movement of the knob (5) (Figure 1, Figure 2).
  • The cooker (1) of the present invention comprises a sealing element (8) that is installed on the tap shaft (7) and that rotates together with the tap shaft (7). Thus, the sealing element (8) prevents the liquids spilled on the cooker (1) from leaking to the lower casing where the gas pipes pass (Figure 1, Figure 2, and Figure 3).
  • In present invention, the cooker (1) comprises a cut-out (10) having at least one step (11) on its periphery and wherein the sealing element (8) is placed. The cut-out (10) is disposed on the support plate (3). Thus, as the sealing element (8) goes over the steps (11), making rotational movement inside the cut-out (10), the user is enabled to feel the flame power level passages. As the flame power is adjusted precisely, energy consumption is brought to the optimum level (Figure 4, Figure 5).
  • In the present invention, the sealing element (8) comprises at least one elastic cam element (12). The cam elements (12) are seated on the steps (11) when placed inside the cut-out (10). During the step (11) passages, the cam element (12) stretches inwards and then resumes its initial position. Thus, by means the tap (7), the step can be adjusted and the gas flow can be regulated for determining flame power (Figure 4, Figure 5, Figure 6).
  • In an embodiment of the present invention, in the cooker (1) the cam elements (12) become coplanar with the cut-out (10). Consequently, the steps (11) located in the cut-out (10) can contact with the cam element (12) (Figure 3, Figure 5).
  • In an embodiment of the present invention, the sealing element (8) is produced from plastic material. Thus, the cam element (12) stretches inwards and then resumes its initial position while passing over the steps (11) and also enables the user to feel this movement. Furthermore, it becomes easy to mount the sealing element (8) in its position in the cooker (1).
  • In an embodiment of the present invention, the sealing element (8) comprises a chamfered hole (9) wherein the tap shaft (7) is disposed. Thus, even if the tap (6) is connected to the cooker (1) with an oblique angle, the sealing element (8) and the burner plate (2) remain coplanar (Figure 2, Figure 3).
  • By means of the present invention, the liquids that spill on the cooker (1) is prevented from leaking into the lower casing where the gas pipes pass and at the same time the user is enabled to feel the current flame level. Thus, it is possible to use the cooker (1) with optimum gas consumption. Furthermore, the visual integrity of the cooker (1) is maintained by the sealing element (8) being located under the burner plate (2).

Claims (2)

  1. A cooker (1) comprising
    - a burner plate (2),
    - a support plate (3) disposed under the burner plate (2),
    - at least one burner (4) arranged on the burner plate (2),
    - at least one knob (5) enabling the flame power of the burner (4) to be adjusted,
    - a tap (6) that controls passage of gas and a tap shaft (7) that enables the tap (6) to be opened and closed by the movement of the knob (5),
    - a sealing element (8) that is installed on the tap shaft (7) and that rotates together with the tap shaft (7) and that provides leak-proofing between the burner plate and the knob,
    - a cut-out (10) disposed on the support plate (3), having at least one step (11) arranged on its periphery and wherein the sealing element (8) is placed, wherein the sealing element (8) comprises at least one elastic cam element (12) that is seated on the step (11) when placed inside the cut-out (10).
  2. A cooker (1) as in claim 1, characterized in that the sealing element (8) is produced from plastic material.
