Description

    A LINKING MECHANISM
  • The present invention relates to a linking mechanism that connects two or more cooling devices.
  • In the state of the art, various methods exist for grouping two or more cooling devices. For example, connection holes are formed on the outer surfaces of the cooling devices desired to be connected and the cooling devices are held together by means of a connector placed on the connector holes. However, since the grouped cooling devices are deformed when desired to be used separately, the esthetic appearance thereof is deteriorated. Moreover, the insulation thickness decreases at the portions where the cooling devices grouped in the said manner are deformed and consequently the cooling performance of the cooling device decreases.
  • In the state of the art Great Britain Patent Document No. GB1387339, a connection member is explained which provides the grouping of two cooling devices.
  • The aim of the present invention is the realization of a linking mechanism that enables two or more cooling devices to be firmly grouped without forming any deformation on the cooling devices.
  • The linking mechanism realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention, explicated in the first claim and the respective claims thereof, comprises a first support member mounted on the side wall of one of the cooling devices and a second support member mounted on the side wall of the other cooling device, the cooling devices are kept together by fixing the extensions situated on the support member to each other by means of the connection member.
  • In an embodiment of the present invention, the support members are detachably mounted onto the cooling devices.
  • In another embodiment of the present invention, the support members are mounted to the cooling devices by means of an adhesion means.
  • In an embodiment of the present invention, the support members have symmetrical configurations.
  • In an embodiment of the present invention, the first support member and the second support member are identical. Thus, the inventory tracking of the support members is facilitated.
  • In an embodiment of the present invention, the support members are produced by the metal extrusion method.
  • In another embodiment of the present invention, the linking mechanism comprises more than one rib that is situated on the lateral surfaces of the support members opposite the cooling devices and that enables the support members to be seated and placed on the joined edges of the upper walls and/or lower walls of the cooling devices.
  • In an embodiment of the present invention, the linking mechanism comprises at least one screw path situated on the extension, and the connection member with a threaded configuration is fitted into the screw path by being rotated, enabling the extensions to be connected to each other.
  • In an embodiment of the present invention, the linking mechanism comprises the extensions that extend upwards from between the side-by-side upper walls of the cooling devices and that are connected to each other.
  • In an embodiment of the present invention, the linking mechanism comprises the extensions that extend downwards from between the side-by-side lower walls of the cooling devices and that are connected to each other.
  • In an embodiment of the present invention, the linking mechanism comprises the extensions that extend rearwards from between the side-by-side rear walls of the cooling devices and that are connected to each other.
  • In an embodiment of the present invention, the extensions extend along one side of the support member. Thus, the support members are more firmly connected to the cooling devices.
  • In an embodiment of the present invention, the ribs extend along one side of the support member. Thus, the support members are more firmly connected to the cooling devices.
  • By means of the light and durable linking mechanism, the cooling devices connected to each other can be moved together.
  • The model embodiments relating to a linking mechanism realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention are illustrated in the attached figures, where:
  • Figure 1 – is the exploded view of a linking mechanism in an embodiment of the present invention.
  • Figure 2 – is the partial rear view of two cooling devices and a linking mechanism in an embodiment of the present invention.
  • Figure 3 – is the view of detail A in Figure 2.
  • Figure 4 – is the perspective view of a cooling device and the support members in an embodiment of the present invention.
  • Figure 5 – is the perspective view of the linking mechanism in an embodiment of the present invention.
  • The elements illustrated in the figures are numbered as follows:
    1. Linking mechanism
    2. , 102. Support member
    3. , 103. Extension
    4. Connection member
    5. Screw path
    6. , 106. Rib
  • The linking mechanism (1) is suitable to connect two cooling devices (C1, C2) placed side by side to each other, and comprises a first support member (2) that is mounted on the side wall of one of the cooling devices (C1) and a second support member (102) mounted on the side wall of the other cooling device (C2).
  • The linking mechanism (1) of the present invention comprises a first extension (3) that is situated on the first support member (2) and that extends outwards from between the cooling devices (C1, C2) when the cooling devices (C1, C2) are connected, a second extension (103) that is situated on the second support member (102), that extends outwards from between the cooling devices (C1, C2) when the cooling devices (C1, C2) are connected and that overlaps with the first extension (3), and at least one connection member (4) that enable the first and second extensions (3, 103), thus the first and second support members (2, 102) and the cooling devices (C1, C2), to be connected (Figure 1, Figure 2, Figure 3, Figure 4, Figure 5).
  • The user positions the cooling devices (C1, C2) he/she desires to connect side by side such that a distance remains therebetween. The user places the support members (2, 102) on the side walls of the cooling devices (C1, C2) facing each other so as to be aligned with each other. Afterwards, he/she connects the cooling devices (C1, C2). When the cooling devices (C1, C2) are brought to this position, the user connects the connection member (4) and the first and second extensions (3, 103) to each other, thus enabling the support members (2, 102) to be fixed to each other. Thus, the user can easily group the cooling devices (C1, C2) and move two or more cooling devices (C1, C2, …) together.
  • In an embodiment of the present invention, the support members (2, 102) are mounted on the cooling devices (C1, C2) in a shape locking manner. When the user desires to separate the cooling devices (C1, C2) he/she grouped by means of the linking mechanism (1), he/she detaches the connection member (4) from the extensions (3, 103). When the connection member (4) is detached, the cooling devices (C1, C2) can be separated. Since the support members (2, 102) can be detached from the surfaces on which they are mounted, the esthetic appearance of the cooling devices (C1, C2) is not deteriorated when desired to be used alone by being separated from each other.
  • In another embodiment of the present invention, the linking mechanism (1) comprises the support members (2, 102) that are adhered on the opposite side wall of each of the cooling devices (C1, C2), which are desired to be connected. The support members (2, 102) are adhered on the lateral surfaces of the cooling devices (C1, C2) by means of double-sided tape. The support members (2, 102) are placed on the edges of the cooling devices (C1, C2) that connect the top wall and the side wall thereof.
