- the firing pin 12 comprises a body 34, preferably hollow, and a firing pin tip 16.
- the translation guide 44 in the optional firing pin cavity 46 there is advantageously housed the translation guide 44 in a through manner.
- the firing pin cavity 46 delimited by said body 34 extends about a body axis L, for example parallel to the translation direction X.
- the firing pin tip 16 extends in a direction parallel, not coincident with respect to the body axis L, so that it extends alongside the above translation guide 44.
- the firing pin identifies a safety seat 22 and a blocking seat 32, optionally angularly staggered with respect to the direction of translation of the firing pin 12, advantageously extending in radial directions outside the body.
- seats 22, 32 are formed proximally to body 34.
- Different embodiments may provide for seats 22, 32 to include firing pin teeth, projecting radially outside body 46, or flares or shoulders formed in body 34.
- the firearm further comprises a safety device 18 against premature firing, configured to release the firing pin 12 from the armed position only when slide 8 is arranged in the closed configuration.
- premature firing refers to the detonation of an ammunition carried out before the slide has returned to its closed configuration, thereby creating the hazard situation mentioned at the beginning.
- Such a safety device 18 comprises a blocking member 20 of the firing pin 12, which opposes the action of the first elastic means 14, capable of being released (e.g. directly) from the firing device 4.
- the blocking member 20 prevents such distal movement until the slide has not completely closed the chamber.
- the blocking member 20 acts on the firing pin 12 only upon reaching the armed position of the latter, but not in the steps before such a position.
- the .blocking member 20 may also be housed inside the slide, for example in the same housing 42 of the firing pin 12, or in a separate seat communicating with said housing 42.
- the firing pin 12 is preferably translatable in a direction parallel to the translation direction X of the slide, and the blocking member 20 is advantageously rotatable (about an axis of rotation M) parallel to said direction X to reversibly engage the safety seat 22 of the firing pin 12.
- the blocking member 20 comprises a proximal arm 54 which works on the firing pin .
- the blocking member 20 can be mounted in position adjacent to the firing pin, on a rotation shaft 48 which is alongside, for example, the translation guide 44.
- the rotation shaft can also advantageously act as a spring-guide for the second elastic means 24 described below.
- An advantageous variant ' provides for the safety device 18 to include the second elastic means 24 mentioned above, which work in thrust between slide 8 (for example, between a bottom wall 50 thereof) and the blocking member 20 to promote the stop of the firing pin 12 by said member 20.
- the other part of the firing bar 4 comprises a lug 26 configured to work on an opposite cam surface 28 of the blocking member 20 to release the firing pin.
- lug 26 is slidable along slide 8.
- lug 26 on one end and the second elastic means on the other end work in the opposite direction, respectively to release or block the firing pin in specific positions of the slide with respect to the firearm frame.
- One embodiment provides for the safety device 18 to comprise an arming member 30 connected to the firearm frame 2 which in the open configuration of slide 8 engages a blocking seat 32 of the firing pin 12 so that the firing pin 12 remains in the armed position.
- the arming member 30 forms an end stop to the distal advancement of slide 8 and, optionally, such a member 30 is operable by means of a firing selector 32 of firearm 1, connected in a movable manner to the firearm frame 2 (as shown in figure 2) or to slide 8 (variant not shown) .
- the selector is operated to switch firearm 1 from a semi-automatic to an automatic firing function, and vice versa.
- the arming member 30 is rotatable in relation to a transversal axis Z of firearm 1, arranged in substance through the thickness of such a firearm.
- the present invention further relates to a firing pin 12 for a firearm, for example usable with a firearm 1 according to any of the previous claims, comprising a hollow body 34 and a firing pin tip 16 engageable in a firing chamber 10 of said firearm 1, wherein the firing pin cavity 46 delimited ' by said body 34 extends around a body axis L and wherein the firing pin tip 16 extends in a parallel direction, not coincident with said axis L.
- slide 8 is located in the rest configuration, shown for example in figure 1, with respect to the firearm frame 2. In this position, slide 8 and frame 2 are substantially aligned or centred relative to each other, such as shown in figure 1.
- the firing pin 12 is in a firing position (distally advanced position within housing 42 formed in slide 8), as the first elastic means 14 push it constantly into the firing chamber 10.
- the first elastic means 14 are represented by the firing pin spring, where such a spring is therefore in a stretched condition, although preferably in a condition of preload.
- a proximal arm 54 of the blocking member 20 is next to the second firing pin tooth (which is a possible embodiment of the safety seat 22), in abutment to the side surface 56 of such a tooth.
- the arming member 30 acts constantly on slide 8 pushed by an elastic arming element 58 thereof, but slide 8 is nevertheless free to slide in a backward/proximal direction thanks to the first cam surface 60 (rounded or shaped as a dome) which does not interfere to restrain the movement of slide 8, but rather rests in a slidable manner on the inner shoulder 62 formed in slide 8.
- slide 8 moves the firing pin 12 in a manner integral therewith, received with its spring guide and the firing pin spring in the firing pin seat 42. Also the blocking member 20 follows the direction of retraction .
- the arming member 30 may trigger, rotating around the respective axis of rotation Z, towards the interior of slide 8 as the first cam IB2014/059499
- the firing pin 12 will be retained in two ways, namely through the action of the arming member 30 on the first firing pin tooth 32, and through the abutment of the proximal arm of the blocking member 20 on the second firing pin tooth 22.
- the firing pin 12 will however be unable to advance distally toward the firing chamber 10, as still firmly retained by the blocking member 20, and in particular by the proximal arm thereof. It follows that the arming of the firing pin 12 cannot be released as long as the firing chamber 10 is not completely closed.
- trigger 6 is connected to the- firing bar 4 and is configured to cause a proximal retraction, when such a trigger 6 is pressed.
- Such a bar 4 comprises lug 26 slidable with respect to the firearm frame 2 and to slide 8, this lug 26 being configured to work on the cam surface 28 of the blocking member 20 that faces lug 26.
- lug 26 interferes with the cam surface 28 and causes the rotation of the blocking member 20 about its axis M, so that member 20 frees the firing pin, and specifically that the proximal arm 54 moves away from the firing pin 12 by rotation.
- the firing pin 12 is then freed from any restraints, and the first elastic means can push it to the firing chamber 10 in which, during the distal movement of slide 8, an ammunition has been inserted, taken from an underlying magazine. Such ammunition is then struck by the firing pin 12.
- lug 26 of the firing bar 4 is configured to release the firing pin 12 only when slide 8 lies in the rest configuration, firmly closing the firing chamber 10.
- each variant described as belonging to a possible embodiment may be implemented independently of the other variants described.
