Abstract

The present invention comprises a window cleaning squeegee being articulated with respect to the handle and being provided with a wheel, thereby keeping the angle formed between the elastic strip being arranged on the head thereof and the glass surface. It comprises a plate attached to a rotating handle, wherein the cleaning elastic strip and the wheel or wheels are arranged, in such a way that the rotation axis of said wheels is parallel to the rotation axis of the plate.

Description

    Object of the invention
  • The object of the present invention is a squeegee of the type used for cleaning, for example, window glasses, and of the type including a strip made of an elastic material intended for the cleaning task which is articulated with respect to the handle and being provided with a wheel, thereby keeping constant the angle formed between the elastic strip and the glass surface, which makes the work easier for the user, thus obtaining an optimum cleaning.
  • Background of the invention
  • The most commonly used cleaning device for window or door glasses, or any other element having a more or less flat glass surface, is the squeegee, a device which includes a handle, a support and a strip made of an elastic material, usually rubber, inserted in said support.
  • During the cleaning tasks of glass surfaces, the angle formed between the elastic strip and the glass surface must be kept constant in order to obtain an optimum result, which is not an easy task when the surface is too big or difficult to access to, such as horizontal surfaces in roofs, feading the users to forced and uncomfortable positions.
  • The present invention discloses a window cleaning squeegee which, through articulating means and a wheel, keeps the angle formed between the elastic strip and the glass surface constant, which makes it easier to clean big surfaces and glasses difficult to access to, while being very useful for the window cleaning mechanization.
  • Description of the invention
  • The articulated window cleaning squeegee object of the invention is of the type comprising a handle, a support attached to the handle and a strip made of an elastic material arranged in the support, and it comprises a plate attached to the handle on one of the faces thereof by means of articulating attaching means fitted to allow the plate rotation with respect to a rotation axis approximately perpendicular to the handle axis; a support for an elastic strip being arranged on the opposite face of the plate, in the proximal end thereof, which is attached to the plate by means of first attaching means, and in the distal end thereof one or more wheels are arranged being attached to the plate by means of second attaching means, in such a way that the rotation axis of said wheels is parallel to the plate rotation axis.

    Preferred embodiment of the invention
  • Figure 1 shows a preferred embodiment of the articulated window cleaning squeegee comprising a handle, being preferably telescopic, so as to make it possible to clean places difficult to access to or being excessively high.
  • The plate, attached to the handle on one of the faces thereof through articulating attaching means, is provided with one or more wheels, the contact area thereof being made, preferably, of a plastic and elastic material, and a support for a strip made of an elastic material. This arrangement makes it possible, as it has been stated above, to keep the angle formed between the elastic strip and the glass surface constant, even in places which are difficult to access to.
  • For example, to clean the lower part of a glass door, a device limiting the plate rotation is properly provided, so that in those places the wheels do not contact the glass surface and, for example, when using them in small surfaces the first and the second attaching means can be fitted to allow the distance modification between the support of the elastic strip and the wheels, thus reducing the size of the invention.
  • In another preferred embodiment, and in order to improve the final result of the cleaning, two or more supports of the elastic strips can be provided being parallel to each other and attached to the plate proximal end by means of third attaching means fitted to modify the distance between the supports of the elastic strip and the wheels, additionally providing as well regulation means fitted to modify the distance between the rotation axis of the wheels and the rotation axis of the plate.
  • If the work is done on a roof difficult to access to, a hose can be provided arranged within the handle, one of the ends thereof, the one that gets out through the free end, being connected to a pressure water supplying device, and the other end of the hose being connected to a water outlet nozzle properly arranged on the plate.
  • The handle, the plate and the support can be made of a metallic or rigid plastic material.
