Kransilos dieser Art werden zur Verarbeitung von Beton, insbesondere Selbstverdichtenden Beton SCC (Self Compacting Concrete), aber auch für zähflüssige Baustoffe verwendet.
Der mit einem relativ hohen Flüssigkeitsanteil versehene SCC erschwert bei der Verarbeitung einen verlustfreien Flüssigkeits- und Feinanteil des aus der Entleerungsöffnung des Behälters eines Kransilos über die Verschlussvorrichtung abgeführten Betons.
