- two circular ridges (24) interposed between the holes (14') and the pairs of holes (16', 14'), said ridges being located on the outer surface of the base (10) and having their center along the longitudinal axis of the guide,
wherein the edge of each wing (12) is provided with a slight depression (26) having a width equal to the distance between the centers of the holes of a pair of holes (14,14').

Description

  • The present invention relates to a deformable guide for forming arched false ceilings and non-linear openings.
  • Currently, to form partitions, furnishing walls or false ceilings, metal structures are used, fixed to the masonry, to support panels of plaster board or other similar materials.
  • These structures generally consist of a U-bent profile provided with a plurality of apertures to form an assembly of U-shaped modules joined together by appendices provided on the bottom and on the two sides. The appendices are then bent inwards to form a plurality of U-shaped elements joined together by portions of their lower and lateral surfaces.
  • During use, each deformable guide is used as it is or is adapted to the curved shape to be produced, by opening out or bending the connection appendices. In particular, the guides are adapted to the plan development of the walls to be formed, are fixed or mounted vertically, fixed at their ends to the floor and ceiling respectively.
  • In other cases they are adapted to the development of the ceiling and fixed at their ends to the walls. Curved or flat panels connected together are applied to the guide and upright assembly.
  • These guides have however shown to be susceptible to improvement for their use as arched false ceilings or non-linear openings in partitions.
  • This improvement is attained according to the invention by a deformable guide for forming arched false ceilings and non-linear openings as described in claim 1.
  • The present invention is further clarified hereinafter with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which:
    • Figure 1 shows a perspective view of a guide according to the invention,
    • Figure 2 shows a portion of the guide according to the invention before being bent to U-shape,
    • Figure 3 shows it in frontal view,
    • Figure 4 shows it in partial lateral view, and
    • Figure 5 is a plan view showing it in curved configuration.
  • As can be seen in Figure 2, the guide 2 according to the invention consists of a plurality of modules 4 symmetrical about the longitudinal axis 6 of the guide, each module being provided with two bending lines 8 for forming a U-shaped piece consisting of a base 10 and two flanges 12.
  • Each module is die-cut to define:
    • three pairs of holes 14, 14', the axis of which is parallel to the longitudinal axis 6 of the guide, one pair being provided in the base 10 along the longitudinal axis 6, and the other two being provided in the flanges 12 of the guide,
    • three holes 16, of diameter less than the diameter of the holes 14, 14', with their centre of curvature lying on the axis passing through the centre of curvature of the pairs of holes 14, 14'.
  • Between the holes 14, 16, 14' of the flanges 12 and the holes 14, 16, 14' of the base 10, an aperture 18 of double T-shape is provided, with its axis of longitudinal symmetry coinciding with the axis passing through the three holes 16 and with the lateral ends of the heads 20 lying on the axes 22, 22' passing through the centre of the holes 14, 14'.
  • The outer surface of the base 10 is provided with two circular ribs 24 interposed between the holes 14' and the holes 16 and 14', said ribs having their centre lying on the axis of symmetry 6. Moreover, the edge of each flange 12 is provided with a slight depression 26 of width equal to the distance between the pairs of holes 14 and 14'.
  • In addition, holes 28 are provided along the axis 6 between the hole 14' of each module and the hole 14 of the adjacent module, their function being clarified hereinafter.
  • The guide, formed in the aforedescribed manner, is bent along the axes 8 to form a U which is shaped in accordance with the desired pattern by resting it on the circular ribs 24 and bending inwards the zone provided with the depression 26.
  • Screws or nails are inserted through the holes 28 to fix the guide to the false ceiling or to the opening.
