Derartige Schachtabdeckungen werden eingesetzt, insbesondere im Bereich von hochwertigen Pflasterungen oder Bodenbelägen, wie sie beispielsweise in Einkaufzentren, Flughäfen, Bahnhöfen oder dergleichen eingesetzt werden. Das Problem dabei ist, dass man die Schachtabdeckung an die jeweilige Rasterung eines Bodenbelages, beispielsweise einer Pflasterung oder einer mit Platten versehenen Deckschicht anpassen muss, ohne dass die Schachtabdeckung zu einer Veränderung des Rasters beziehungsweise des Musters im Bereich der Schachtabdeckung führt. Im bestimmungsgemäßen Einsatz sind an diese Schachtabdeckungen natürlich entsprechend hohe Anforderungen zu stellen. So müssen dort auch sehr schwere Fahrzeuge die Schachtabdeckung überrollen können, ohne Gefahr zu laufen, dass die Schachtabdeckung in irgendeiner Weise deformiert oder beschädigt wird. Im Stand der Technik wurde dies bisher so gelöst, dass ein Tragrahmen und ein Abdeckrahmen im geschlossenen Zustand der Schachtabdeckung deckungsgleich bezüglich der Höhe vorgesehen sind, wobei der Abdeckrahmen oder auch Deckel passgenau in den Tragrahmen eingepasst ist, sodass relativ geringes Spiel für eine Bewegung vorhanden ist.
