Definitions
- the object of the present innovation is a new system for fastening a series of interchangeable temples to be fixed so as to replace the respective hinge element that is arranged at the two ends of an eyeglass front.
- the main task of the object of the present innovation is that of making a system for quickly and safely coupling or fastening a series of interchangeable temples, to a single respective end of eyeglass front, so that the replacement of the temples themselves can be also easily carried out by a person who is not skilled and not provided with particular equipment;
- another important purpose of the present innovation is that of being able to make a system for applying, and replacing, a series of interchangeable temples, to a certain model of eyeglass, without the eyeglass frame suffering from deformation, for example pantoscopic or misalignment of the focus of the lenses, due to the inexperience of the person desiring to replace the temples of his glasses.
- Another purpose of the present innovation is that of being able to make a system that makes it possible to repeatedly replace the various types of interchangeable temples, without the temples themselves becoming deteriorated, due to the simplicity and solidity of the elements that make up the engagement system itself.
- Last but not least purpose of the present innovation is that of being able to make a system for fastening a series of interchangeable temples to a single eyeglass front, which foresees making a small amount of simple elements, reducing and simplifying as much as possible the production costs and assembly time of the original model and of its subsequent transformations.
- a system for interchangeably fastening a temple to an eyeglass front comprising an eyeglass front having, at one end, a first hinge element, a second hinge element having one end that is hinged to said first hinge element and an opposite free end, a temple having a free end removably fastened to said free end of the second hinge element, a locking component coupled with said temple and with said second hinge element at said free ends for removably fastening said temple to said second hinge element, characterised in that one of said free ends comprises an axial slot and the other free end comprises a tang that is coupled with said axial slot and is removably locked in said axial slot by means of said locking component, said tang comprising an axial open slit and an open through hole communicating with said slit and extending transversally with respect to said open slit, said slit being open at one end thereof at the free end of the tang,
- FIG. 1 represents a top view shown according to the section plane I-I of figure 2 of a fastening system in accordance with a first embodiment of the present invention
- Figure 2 represents a vertical view of the fastening system of figure 1 ;
- Figure 3 represents a top view of a screw for locking the end of temple of figure 1 to its hinge element according to figure 4;
- Figure 4 represents a top view of the hinge element to be associated and locked with the end of temple of figure 1 ;
- Figure 5 represents a vertical view of the same hinge element itself as figure
- FIG. 6 represents an overall view, from above, of the temple end of figure 1 with the hinge element of figure 4 and with the locking screw of figure 3, shown in their locking condition of the temple to the frame front;
- Figure 7 represents a vertical overall view of the same parts of figure 6, being represented in their unlocking condition of the temple from the frame front;
- Figures 8a, 9a, 10a represent overall views, from above, of different embodiments of the fastening system of the present invention, each view being represented in a configuration with the locking component disassembled and with the locking component assembled and in locking condition of the temple to the frame front;
- FIG. 8b, 9b, 10b represent overall views, from above, of the embodiments of figures 8a, 9a, 10a with the temple unlocked from the frame front.
- the same elements are represented, or are intended to be represented with the same reference numerals.
- the system for fastening interchangeable temples is substantially based upon the presence of a slot 11 of the end 10 of a temple A, said slot 1 1 having a tang 21 of a hinge element 20 for said temple A engaged with it, said element 20 being able to be hinged to a conventional hinge element 30 for the end of an eyeglass front F that supports the lenses of the eyeglass, said tang 21 being able to be locked within said slot 1 1 for the presence of a locking screw 40. It is worth noting that the hinging of the hinge element 20 with the hinge element 30 cannot be modified by the user and thus remains constant also following the replacement of the temple A with another temple with advantages in terms of its price and in terms of stability of the frame.
- one end 10 of the temple A is made with an axial slot 1 1 that also has an upper central open top notch 12, in addition to a series of two aligned through holes 13 and 14, having a differentiated diameter and arranged at a suitable distance d from the free end of the axial slot 11, as specified in the rest of the description.
- the hinge element 20 for the temple A has a tang end 21 with an axial open slit 22 which communicates with an open through hole 23, whereas the opposite end of the element 20 itself comprises a normal hinging eyelet 24 and an underlying abutment 25, for the abutment of the temple A and of its hinge element 20, when it is in the normal opening position on the frame front F, in addition to against the front edge of the end 10 of the same temple A on the base of the eyelet 24.
- the distance d between the axes of the two aligned through holes 13, 14 and the free end of the axial slot 1 1 corresponds to the distance d between the base of the abutment 25 and the axis of the open through hole 23. Due to this value d, by inserting the tang 21 in the slot 11, as long as the base of the abutment 25 is in abutment with the free end of the axial slot 1 1, the axis of the through hole 23 of the tang 21 is aligned with the axes of the holes 13 - 14 of the temple end A.
- said locking screw 40 is substantially made up of a first head 41 with an attached wide stem 42 and final stem with a narrow diameter 43 that is at least partially threaded.
- the same locking screw 40 is thus completed by an elastic means 44 and by a second head 45, in the example a closing and adjustment nut that can be for example of the semi-blind type.
- the engagement of the tang 21 in the slot 1 1 of the end 10 of the temple A makes it possible to align its through hole 23 with the holes 13 and 14 of the same end 10, making the insertion of the screw 40 possible, from the side of the wide hole 14, whereas its narrow part 43 comes out from the hole 13, in such a way that its head 41 rests against the outer edge of the hole 14.
- the elastic means 44 and the screwing of the nut 45 to the narrow threaded part 43 that projects from the end 10 of the temple A, as illustrated in figure 6.
- the purchaser is provided with a pair of glasses that is complete with an eyeglass front F and with relative hinging elements 20, with a pair of temples A that are preferably already associated with said frame front F, in accordance with what has been specified thus far, in addition to a series of further pairs of temples A that are interchangeable and different from one another in colour or shape, each temple A being already provided with its locking screw 40, complete with elastic means 44 and closure nut 45.
- the locking component 40 has the first head 41 that is fixedly attached to the wide part 42 and forms a first element 40a and the second head 45 that is fixedly attached to the narrow part 43 and forms a second element 40b.
- the second element 40b is connected, preferably coupled, with the first element 40a.
- the locking component 40 has the first head 41 that is fixedly attached to the wide part 42 and to the narrow part 43 and forms an element 40c that is connected, preferably coupled, to the second head 45.
- the elastic means 44 is a spring that is interposed between the second head 45 and the outer edge of the narrow hole 13 whereas in the embodiments from 8a to 10b, the elastic means 44 comprises a cap 46 in shape memory material that is coupled with the second head 45 so as to have at least one part 46a that is interposed between the second head 45 and the outer edge of the narrow hole 13.
- the cap 46 comprises a part 46b that covers the second head 45.
- the system described and illustrated thus far can be made with temples A and hinging elements 20 of the type illustrated, whereas the same system can be actuated in the same way with specified parts having a different configuration.
- the temple A it is worth indicating that there is the possibility for the temple A to be made in metal, therefore with small dimensions, adapting the dimensions also of the tang 20 and of its abutment 25, just like it is also possible to fasten the temple A to a frame front F that is made from plastic material and therefore with the eyelet 30 that is embedded at the ends of the same frame front.
- eyelet 24 of the female type for housing an eyelet 30 of the male type, just like it is possible to invert the position of the holes 13 and 14 of the temple A with a consequent inversion also in the application of the locking screw 40 and of its elastic means 44.
