Description

    Technical Field
  • This invention is about prevention of escaping of the motor belt from the movement canal due to its physical reaction because of its having an oval structure, used for transmission of motion from the motor to the conveyor which provides movement of the awning control during opening and closing of oval awnings particularly, used at various locations.
  • Prior Art
  • In this technique, motor power is used to open and close the foldable awnings. The awning fabric is moved via conveyors. The motor belt transmits the motion to the conveyors. The side profiles of the awnings provide for movement of the conveyors, and also contain the motor belts, which transmit the motion. In non-oval and flat awnings, this system works without any problem, but in oval profiles, the motor belt tends to get out of the profile due to its shape. In some cases, even in non-oval profiles, this undesired situation occurs due to operational conditions and environmental factors. Closing of the canal within the profile in order to prevent this reaction is impossible because the conveyor has to move. Escaping of the motor belt from the canal causes problems in the operation of the system. Due to this undesired action of the motor belt, the conveyor may stop, and the motor belt may become deformed, and may have to be replaced. In such cases, damage on the conveyor or the motor belt hinders opening and closing of the awning. To resolve these problems, the entire profile must be disassembled and reassembled. This situation can only be resolved by technical service staff, and in addition to the extra cost and loss of time, the locations covered by the awning cannot be used during the repairs. Currently, various apparatuses and blocks are used on the motor belt to prevent this situation. However, these blocks cause extra cost and workmanship, and negatively affect the efficiency and power requirement of the motor belt. As the attached apparatuses and parts rub against the profile and the canal, they cause noise and other friction-related problems, and these problems have necessitated this invention.
  • An apparatus according to the preamble of claim 1 is disclosed by WO 2010/077214 A2 .
  • Objects and Short Description of the Invention
  • The purpose of the invention is to prevent escaping of the motor belt, which transmits the motion from the motor to the conveyor, from the carrier side profiles in oval and curved awnings without the need for any additional apparatuses or parts.
  • Another purpose of the invention is to minimize the problems caused by friction of the motor belt, which transmits the motion from the motor to the conveyor, in foldable awnings.

    Detailed Description of the Invention
  • This invention is for prevention of escaping of the motor belt (10), which transmits the motion from the motor to the conveyor (13) in usually oval awnings with angled carrier side profiles (11), from the conveyor (13) and the belt movement canal (11.1) inside the carrier side profile (11), due to the physical reaction of the motor belt (10).
The invention has all the desired characteristics of the apparatuses used in the previous technique and resolves all their undesired characteristics, thanks to its wheel canal (12), upper walls of wheel canal (12.1) and lower base of motor belt (10.1) to prevent escaping of the motor belt, which transmits the motor power to the conveyor, from the canal during the transmission of the power by the conveyors through the belt movement canal (11.1) inside the carrier side profile (11), the side general view of which is shown in Figure 1a, and the cross-sectional from view is shown on Figure 1 b.
In the carrier side profile (12) perspective view in Figure 2b, it is seen that the motor belt (10) moves on the upper walls of the wheel canal due to its position in the conveyor and the belt movement canal (11.1). The upper walls of the wheel canal (12.1) are angled and shaped in a manner to prevent contact of the conveyor (13). The upper parts of the walls (12.1) are flat. In order to prevent escaping of the motor belt (10) from the canal (11.1) due to its physical reaction, the width of the motor belt (10.2) must be larger than or equal to one-half of the sum of the movement canal width (11.2) and the width between the walls (12.3). The formula of this will be: Motor belt width 10.2 width of movement canal 11.2 + width between walls 12.3 2 _
    Figure imgb0001
Thus, undesired escaping of the motor belt (10) from the width between the walls (12.3) due to physical reaction and/or physical conditions, movements towards right or left due to power imbalances and bending. The conveyor (13) has to move inside a canal to allow opening and closing of the awning fabric. To allow this movement, there must be a width between the walls (12.3).
The blocking apparatuses and parts used in the previous technique damage the canal and can also get out of the canal themselves in case physical difficulties. The noise they cause due to friction is also an undesired effect in terms of customer satisfaction.
  • Thanks to the above-mentioned formulation no additional parts or apparatuses need to be used.
  • The previous technique also presented another problem, which was moving of the motor belt (10) right or left due to swinging of the motor belt (10) because of the wind. As a result of this movement, when the above-mentioned measurement balance is provided, escaping of the motor belt (10) from the conveyor and the belt movement canal is prevented even in such cases.
  • It is manufactured without using any part or apparatus on the previous technique, and thus, friction and contact surface is increased, and because of these, the motor belt lower base (10.1) shown on Figure 2a and Figure 2a1 "motor belt layers", which is different from classic motor belts. The motor belt lower base (10.1) is made of a textile material, which has a flat surface and which minimizes the effect of friction. Thanks to its being textile, abrasion due to friction is decreased, and risk of noise is eliminated.
