COUPLING DEVICE FOR DEODORANT MADE IN PERFUMED
THERMOPLASTIC RUBBER
Description
The invention relates to a new hooking device mainly conceived for perfumed thermoplastic rubber deodorizer which allows the perfumer deodorizer to be hooked to the air grilles of cars and at the same time to be safe, universal, light, scratch- resistant, handy and cheap.
At the state of the art, there are known deodorizers which use mainly only one hooking system. Such system is generally made up of a clip made up of 2 or 4 arms which grip tightly a wall of the car air grilles.
Surely this system is advantageous in that it is versatile and adaptable to any kind of grille, independently of its opening, and for the hooking force exerted by the clip arms as well.
However, a common problem of this kind of hooking is that during the deodorizer positioning in the air grilles, the clip arms can scratch the walls of the grilles on which they are fixed; moreover, the closing force of the arms, especially when there are only two of the them, tends to be reduced in time as well as in presence of hot air emission; so it is not always safe, for, in case of accident, after the impact, it can occur that the same deodorizer comes off with the risk to hit the driver or passengers. Finally, since this kind of plastic clip is quite complex and provided with undercuts, it has to be molded separately, by means of its own mold, and only after, it is applied to the deodorizer implying other production/mounting costs and/or detachment risks. Aim of the present invention is to provide a thermoplastic rubber deodorizer with a new hooking device without the above described problems but which at the same time is universal and light, applicable to any kind of air grille for cars and similar; in fact it can also be applied to the air gratings of fan coil units generally high positioned and that can hardly support a deodorizer with little bottles because it could fall owing to the force of gravity.
The detailed description of the invention refers to the drawings attached. The present invention is made up of an injection molded, perfumed thermoplastic rubber plate (1) and of a hooking device (2) made up of two opened tongues (3) on which it can be exerted a manual pressure from outside inwards thus nearing them if needed until they touch each other, to allow their introduction in one or two slits of the air grille. After the introduction of the two tongues in the same slit (or two slits at the most) the same tend to open both for their intrinsic force and an elastic counter-push, returning in a sufficiently opened position; the two tongues (3) have at the end another hooking element (4) obtained by hook shaping the tongue material; this hook guarantees a stable and safe hooking by hooking itself at the end of the grille wall.
The inwards pressure exerted on the tongues cannot exceed a certain limit; in fact when the same touch each other, it is released an elastic counter- pressure outwards.
It is to be noted that the depth lengths of the walls (3) of the air grille are generally between at least 1.2 cm and at most 1.8 cm; as a consequence, if the tongues of the device are 2 cm long, the hooking is guaranteed for any kind of grille. In turn, the heights of the slits of the grille are generally between at least 0.6 cm and at most 2 cm or more; so, in case of height lower than 1 cm, the two tongues of the device are introduced in two adjacent slits, while in case of an opening greater than 1 cm, the two tongue can be introduced in only one slit. The present invention can be molded as a mono-piece (X) , hooking device and deodorizer plate, or in separated pieces (Y and Z) (hooking device, perfumer plate with or without cover integrated) . The perfumed plate can be realized in any tridimensional or bi-dimensional shape, with or without molded pictures in four-color process with IML technique (In-mould labelling) .
In the following there are described some embodiments of the present invention. In figure X) there is shown a first embodiment, a mono-piece deodorizer: plate (1) molded together with the perfumed plastic hooking device (2).
In order to reinforce the portion of the elongated elements in perfumed plastic which tend to be weakened by the heat thus loosing elastic force and hooking grip, this piece can be molded with a double injection press: wherein the upper portion in perfumed thermoplastic rubber is provided with a first injection, while the second injection fills the underlying device with a not perfumed rigid polyethylene (PE) or with another not perfumed rigid plastic compatible with the perfumed thermoplastic rubber molded with the first injection. As an alternative to this system it can be used the sole perfumed thermoplastic rubber for the piece as a whole by introducing in the device in the molding step by means of robot and small magnets an insert in thin harmonic steel foil, which guarantees the gripping push force of the same device.
A second embodiment provides a deodorizer molded in two separate pieces (Y) : the perfumer plate (1) with central hole (6), the hooking device (2) with one molding step integrated cover (5).
The hooking device (2) preferably molded in rigid polypropylene (PP) is provided with a cover (5) which can be decorated with the IML technique (In- mould labelling); the perfumer portion (1) is molded in the desired shape and with a central hole (5) which allows the introduction of the two tongues (3) of the hooking device allowing that the same remains in position even in case of dimensional changes due to the perfume leakage from the plate.
A third embodiment (Z) provides a deodorizer molded in three pieces: the perfumer plate (1) with central hole for hooking (6), the hooking device
(2) and the cover (5) . The hooking device is molded in plastic, for example in polypropylene or in acetal resins and has a double hooking system from a side for the grille and from the other one for the cover; the cover (5) in polypropylene is mounted on the hooking device (2) with a male- female coupling system.
Finally, there exists the possibility to use the hooking device for any kind of deodorizer, even the heavy ones, i.e. provided with glass bottles containing fragrance oil. In this case, for the device molding, it is preferably used an acetal resin POM (Hostaform or Delrin kind) as polymer whose feature is that it has a great dimensional stability and that it maintains intact in time its reactivity and force, without being subjected to alterations due to temperature and humidity, due to the emission of heated air from the air grilles.

Claims

1. Hooking device (2) of a perfumed plastic deodorizer for air grilles comprising a perfumed rubber plate (1) and two tongues (3), each having another hook shaped hooking element (4) obtained by the shaping of the material of the tongues.
2. Hooking device (2) according to claim 1, wherein the tongues (3) are at least 2 cm long and the other hook shaped hooking elements are at least 1 mm long.
3. Hooking device (2) according to claim 1 or 2, which can be provided as a mono-piece (X) , in two pieces (Y) or in three pieces (Z).
4. Hooking device (2) according to claim 3, characterized in that the embodiment as a mono- piece (X) is made up of a perfumed plate (1) with double injection molding having the upper portion in perfumed thermoplastic rubber and the underlying portion in not perfumed rigid polyethylene or other material compatible with the perfumed plastic.
5. Hooking device (2) according to claim 3, characterized in that, if wholly in perfumed plastic, it is provided with a thin foil insert.
6. Hooking device according to claim 3, characterized in that the embodiment in two pieces
(Y) comprises a perfumed plate with central hole (1), a hooking device (2) molded in rigid polypropylene with integrated cover (5).
7. Hooking device according to claim 3, characterized in that the embodiment in three pieces (Z) comprises the perfumer plate (1) with central hole, the hooking device (2) and a cover
(5) not integrated.
