Abstract

A coupler (10) for coupling an attachment to an excavator, the coupler including a pin detection system for detecting the presence of a attachment pin (126) against a pin-engaging surface (154) in its pin-receiving recess (160), and means for indicating to an operator that the pin has been detected. The pin detection system comprises a contact member (152) that is movable between a rest state and a displaced state. The system allows the operator to determine that the pin is correctly located in the recess before activating a latch to hold the pin.
