Definitions
- the invention relates to a device for sorting coins, which comprises a first and at least one second receptacle for receiving coins. Furthermore, the device has a separating unit for separating coins and a transport unit for transporting coins from the separating unit to the first receiving container arranged downstream of the separating unit and the second receiving container located downstream of the first receiving container, wherein the transport unit has a first transport section and a second transport section.
- the first transport section is arranged between the singling unit and the first receptacle so that both the first receptacle and the second receptacle to be supplied coins are transported along the first transport section.
- the second transport section is arranged between the first and the second transport container, so that along it only the coins not supplied to the first receptacle are transported.
- the coins entered as unsorted coins, after being singulated, their authenticity checked and their denomination determined, are distributed, depending on their denomination, to a plurality of receptacles, so-called coin hoppers.
- coin hoppers there is a sorted storage of coins, that is, that for each denomination at least one receptacle is provided.
- a sorting path which comprises a bearing surface on which the coins rest during transport and in which a plurality of holes are arranged in the transport direction of the coins of increasing size. Below each of these holes one of the coin receiving containers is arranged, so that the coins are distributed depending on their size on the individual receptacles. Due to the high processing speed and the different nature of the coins, however, it may happen that a coin is mistakenly fed to a wrong receptacle. This is particularly critical if the coins are also paid out again, because if a false coin is included in a Münzhopper, thus the wrong amount of money would be paid.
- a first sensor for detection along the first transport section of transported coins is arranged in the first transport section.
- a second sensor for detecting coins transported along the second transport section is arranged in the second transport section.
- a control unit determines the number of coins supplied to the first receptacle as a function of the information obtained from the first sensor and from the second sensor.
- the coins have a predetermined orientation and also do not rotate.
- the coins are in particular on a support surface on, along which they move.
- the provision of the sensors in these transport sections of the transport unit ensures that the individual coins can be reliably detected so that the number of coins transported along the first transport section and the number of coins transported along the second transport section can be reliably determined. Accordingly, by calculating the coins supplied in the first receptacle based on these two values, it can be done with high accuracy.
- upstream and downstream refer to the direction of transport of the coins along the transport path within which they are transported in the apparatus.
- the control unit preferably determines, by means of the first sensor, the number of coins transported along the first transport section and, with the aid of the second sensor, the number of coins transported along the second transport section. Further, the control unit determines the number of coins supplied to the first receptacle, in particular, by subtracting the number the coins transported along the second transport section are counted by the number of coins transported along the first transport section. Since the difference between the coins transported along the first and the coins transported along the second transport section can only have been supplied to the first receiving container, the corresponding number can be determined reliably therefrom.
- At least a third receptacle for receiving coins is provided. It is particularly advantageous if a plurality of further receptacle for receiving coins is provided.
- the number of receptacles provided corresponds to the number of different denominations of the currency rate to be handled. In the case of euro coins, in particular, eight receptacles are thus provided, the receptacles being arranged one behind the other in relation to the transport direction. In the transport section of the transport unit located between two receptacles arranged one behind the other, a sensor for detecting coins is provided in each case.
- the control unit determines the number of coins fed to one of the receptacles by subtracting the number of coins, determined in the transport section located behind the receptacle, from the number of coins detected in the transport section located in front of the receptacle.
- the number of coins supplied for each receptacle can be easily determined.
- Both the first sensor and the second sensor preferably each comprise a light barrier, wherein by interrupting the light barrier in each case the transport of a coin along this transport section is detected.
- the other sensors for detecting coins also each comprise a light barrier.
- the use of light barriers has the advantage that with their help, the coins can be detected easily and reliably and the photocells are inexpensive to purchase.
- ultrasonic sensors, capacitive sensors and / or inductive sensors instead of light barriers.
- different types of sensors are used in the different transport sections.
- a test unit for determining the denomination of supplied coins can be provided, wherein the control unit determines from the determined denominations for each receptacle a desired value of the coins to be supplied to it according to plan. In particular, it is preset for each coin receiving container how many coins of which denomination are to be fed to it. Based on this predetermined scheme, the control unit determines how many coins the respective receptacle by comparing the corresponding number of coins of each denomination would have to be supplied, if the feeding takes place according to the preset distribution.
- the examination unit serves not only to determine the denomination but also to verify the authenticity of the coins. As falsely classified coins and / or other objects are sorted out in particular before the other coins are supplied by the transport unit to the receptacles.
- test unit is arranged in particular upstream of the transport unit and downstream of the singulation unit.
- control unit compares for at least one of the receptacles the number of coins supplied, that is to say the actual number, determined with the aid of the sensors, with the corresponding desired value. It is particularly advantageous if the control unit for each receptacle performs a comparison of the actually supplied number with the desired value. About this comparison, the control unit can easily determine whether the distribution of the coins was carried out on the individual coin receiving container according to the predetermined scheme or whether a coin was fed to a wrong receptacle.
- the control unit may make a comparison between the target value and the actually supplied number of coins after the supply of each single coin, respectively after the supply of a predetermined number of coins and / or after the supply of all as a coin in the device execute entered coins.
- the comparison after the delivery of each coin has the advantage that it can be detected immediately if there is an error.
- the comparison after the supply of a predetermined number of coins and / or all coins of a coin quantity offers the advantage that fewer comparisons are necessary.
- the control unit determines not only that at least one coin was supplied to a wrong receptacle, but concretely determines which receptacle the wrong coin was supplied. This can happen because the control unit compares to which receptacles too few and which receptacles in particular too many coins were supplied. If more coins have been supplied to a receptacle than coins of the corresponding denomination have been entered, at least one false coin must be received in such a receptacle.
- control unit when dispensing coins via an output unit, the control unit does not use those receptacles in which at least one coin intended for this receptacle has been received.
- the control unit replaces this particular the denomination to be inadvertently taken from this receptacle by a corresponding number of coins of other denominations from other receptacles.
- control unit can not only those receptacles in which an unallocated coin was added, but use all receptacles in which the actual value deviates from the desired value, not for later disbursement.
- the transport unit is in particular designed such that it has a bearing surface on which the coins rest during transport along the transport unit.
- a plurality of holes are provided in the support surface, wherein in each case one of the receptacles is arranged below each hole.
- the holes differ in size, with the size of the holes increasing in the transport direction from hole to hole, so that the coins are distributed according to their size and thus according to their denomination, without the need for active elements to be controlled, to the individual receptacles , Thus, a simple, inexpensive solution for effective sorting is achieved.
- the sensors are preferably arranged shortly before the holes, so that they can be used to determine the number of coins supplied to the holes.
- the distance is in this case chosen such that the coins, when they are transported past, still rest on the support surface and are not yet in the case in the hole.
- the device has an output unit for outputting information, wherein the control unit, when it has determined the erroneous feeding of at least one coin to a receptacle, controls the output unit such that it outputs information about this to an operator.
- the output can be made in particular via a display, a warning tone, and / or a screen.
- FIG. 1 a schematic representation of a device 10 for sorting coins is shown.
- the device 10 is in particular a device for input and / or output of coins.
- the coins to be entered are entered via an input tray 12 and fed to a separating unit 14 for separating the entered coins.
- the separating unit 14 is designed in particular in the form of a coin centrifuge, in which the coins are transported individually by centrifugal forces acting on them through a hole in the wall of the coin centrifuge.
- the individual coins are checked for authenticity by means of a testing unit 16. As falsely classified coins and / or foreign objects are sorted out. For denominated coins, the denomination is determined.
- the coins are distributed by means of a transport unit 18 on coin receiving containers, one of which is designated by the reference numeral 20 by way of example is.
- a transport unit 18 on coin receiving containers, one of which is designated by the reference numeral 20 by way of example is.
- five receptacles 20 are provided.
- the transport unit 18 can also have any other shape.
- the transport unit 18, and thus also the receptacle 20, can be arranged in a circle around the coin centrifuge 14, so that a particularly compact design is achieved.
- the coins accommodated in the receptacles 20 can be removed again and output via an output unit 22.
- FIG. 2 is a highly simplified representation of a section of the device 10 according to FIG. 1 shown, with only the test unit 16 and the transport unit 18 are shown.
- FIG. 3 is shown a plan view of this section.
- the transport unit 18 comprises a support surface 30 on which the coins 31 are transported with their front or rear side resting in a transport direction P1.
- the coins 31 lie with their edges on a guide element 42, so that they have a predetermined orientation on the support surface 30.
- each hole exactly one receptacle 20 is arranged.
- a first receptacle 20 below the second hole 32, a second receptacle 20, below the third hole 36, a third receptacle 20, below the fourth hole 38, a fourth receptacle 20 and below the fifth hole 40 a fifth receptacle 20 arranged.
- the receptacle 20 may be arranged such that coins falling through the corresponding hole 32 to 40 fall directly into this receptacle 20.
- further transport and / or deflection elements can be provided, via which the coins 31 are transported or deflected, before they are then fed to the actual receptacle 20.
- the dimensions of the holes 32 to 40 increases as seen in the transport direction P1, so that, as in FIG. 3 can be clearly seen by the two exemplified coins 31, first the smallest coins 31 are sorted out through the first hole 32, then the next larger coins 31 through the second hole 34, etc. Thus, the coins 31 due to their size and thus due to their denomination be distributed to the individual receptacle 20.
- the transport path, along which the coins are transported by means of the transport unit 18, into a first transport section 52, a second transport section 54, a third transport section 56, a fourth transport section 58 and a fifth transport section 60 is divided, wherein the first transport section 52 between the inspection unit 16 and the first hole 32, the second transport section 54 between the first hole 32 and the second hole 34, the third transport section 56 between the second hole 34 and the third hole 36, the fourth transport section 58 between the third Hole 36 and the fourth hole 38 and the fifth transport section 60 between the fourth hole 38 and the fifth hole 40 are arranged.
- a sensor configured as a light barrier 62 to 70 is arranged, with the aid of which the coins 31 transported along the respective transport section 52 to 60 can be detected.
- a control unit 24 of the device 10 can easily insert the coins 31 dropped into the respective holes 32 to 40 and thus the coin determine respective receptacle 20 supplied coins 31.
- control unit 21 subtracts the number of coins 31 determined by the second photoelectric barrier 64 by the number of the first photoelectric barrier 62 found in the first transport section 52 coins 31st
- the determination of the individual holes 32 to 40 and thus the receptacles 20 supplied coins 31 by means of along the transport path of the transport unit 18 in front of the holes 32 to 40 arranged light barriers 62 to 70 has compared to below the holes 32 to 40 arranged light barriers have the advantage that the coins 31 rest on the support surface 30 during their detection via the light barrier 62 to 70 in a predetermined orientation and abut against the guide element 32.
- each coin can be reliably detected individually. Since all coins 31 abut with their edge on the guide member 32, between two consecutively transported coins 31 always at least in the immediately adjacent to the guide member 32 area a gap, since the coins 31 are all circular. Since the light barriers 62 to 70 are aligned in such a way that their light beam is arranged in this area, it is ensured that it can not happen that the light beam is continuously interrupted by two coins 31 transported in succession and thus two coins 31 only as one coin 31 would be valued.
- the individual holes 32 to 40 and thus the individual receptacles 20 supplied coins 31 can be determined reliably and safely in a simple manner.
- FIG. 4 a table of a sequence of supplied coins is shown, wherein in the first line 71, the successive each of the transport unit 18 supplied coins 31 are listed with their respective denomination.
- coins of five different denominations namely the denominations A, B, C, D and E are fed, the denomination coins A being projected on the first receptacle 20 via the first hole 32, the denomination B coin on the second Hole 34 the second receptacle 20, the coin denomination C on the third hole 36 to the third receptacle 20, the coin denomination D on the fourth hole 38 the fourth receptacle 20 and the Coin denomination E via the fifth hole 40 to the fifth receptacle 20 to be supplied.
- the nominal distribution of the coins on the individual holes 32 to 40 and thus on the corresponding receptacle 20 is shown, wherein the numbers indicated in the line 72 correspond to the reference numerals of the corresponding holes 31 to 40.
- the target distribution all coins of denomination A will pass through first hole 32, all coins of denomination B will pass through second hole 34, all denomination C coins will pass through third hole 36, all denomination D coins will pass through fourth hole 38 and all Denomination E coins are transported through the fifth hole 40.
- fifteen coins are transported along the first transport section 52, so that fifteen coins are detected by the first sensor 62.
- the two coins of the denomination D fall into the fourth hole 38, so that along the fifth transport section 60 only the two remaining coins of denomination E are transported and are detected by the fifth sensor 70, that is to say by the light barrier 70.
- a first error scenario is shown, in which the fifth coin is now supplied to the third hole 36 instead of the second hole 34.
- the sensor values are shown which result in this corresponding first fault scenario.
- the column 88 indicates the difference values between the values respectively determined by the sensors 62 to 70.
- the control unit 24 can easily determine that erroneously by comparing the actual values now obtained with the actual target values, as indicated in column 84 a coin which should have been supplied to the second receptacle 20 through the second hole 34 was erroneously supplied to the third receptacle 20 through the third hole 36.
- control unit 24 in such a case disables the third receptacle 20 for coin disbursement 31 so that a false denomination can not be inadvertently paid out.
- an error message can be output so that an operator knows in which receptacle 20 it has come to an error and the operator can correct this error accordingly.
- other sensors in particular other optical sensors, ultrasonic sensors, capacitive sensors and / or inductive sensors may be used instead of light barriers 62 to 70.
- other sensors in particular other optical sensors, ultrasonic sensors, capacitive sensors and / or inductive sensors may be used instead of light barriers 62 to 70.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a device for sorting coins, which comprises a first and at least one second receptacle for receiving coins. Furthermore, the device has a separating unit for separating coins and a transport unit for transporting coins from the separating unit to the first receiving container arranged downstream of the separating unit and the second receiving container located downstream of the first receiving container, wherein the transport unit has a first transport section and a second transport section. The first transport section is arranged between the singling unit and the first receptacle so that both the first receptacle and the second receptacle to be supplied coins are transported along the first transport section. The second transport section is arranged between the first and the second transport container, so that along it only the coins not supplied to the first receptacle are transported.
In the case of coin input and / or output devices, the coins entered as unsorted coins, after being singulated, their authenticity checked and their denomination determined, are distributed, depending on their denomination, to a plurality of receptacles, so-called coin hoppers. In particular, there is a sorted storage of coins, that is, that for each denomination at least one receptacle is provided.
For this purpose, in particular a sorting path is provided, which comprises a bearing surface on which the coins rest during transport and in which a plurality of holes are arranged in the transport direction of the coins of increasing size.
It is an object of the invention to provide a device for sorting coins, in which a simple way monitoring the scheduled delivery of the coins to the individual receptacles is reliably possible.
This object is achieved by a device having the features of claim 1. Advantageous developments of the invention are specified in the dependent claims.
According to the invention, a first sensor for detection along the first transport section of transported coins is arranged in the first transport section. Likewise, a second sensor for detecting coins transported along the second transport section is arranged in the second transport section. A control unit determines the number of coins supplied to the first receptacle as a function of the information obtained from the first sensor and from the second sensor. During the transport along the first transport section and the second transport section, the coins have a predetermined orientation and also do not rotate. The coins are in particular on a support surface on, along which they move. The provision of the sensors in these transport sections of the transport unit ensures that the individual coins can be reliably detected so that the number of coins transported along the first transport section and the number of coins transported along the second transport section can be reliably determined. Accordingly, by calculating the coins supplied in the first receptacle based on these two values, it can be done with high accuracy.
Furthermore, it is ensured by the arrangement of the sensors in the transport sections and thus outside of the receptacle that it can not happen that at a high level of the receptacle (so-called turrets) permanently at least one coin in the detection range of the sensor is arranged and thus a Detection of further supplied coins prevented.
The terms upstream and downstream refer to the direction of transport of the coins along the transport path within which they are transported in the apparatus.
The control unit preferably determines, by means of the first sensor, the number of coins transported along the first transport section and, with the aid of the second sensor, the number of coins transported along the second transport section.
In a particularly preferred embodiment of the invention, at least a third receptacle for receiving coins is provided. It is particularly advantageous if a plurality of further receptacle for receiving coins is provided. In particular, the number of receptacles provided corresponds to the number of different denominations of the currency rate to be handled. In the case of euro coins, in particular, eight receptacles are thus provided, the receptacles being arranged one behind the other in relation to the transport direction. In the transport section of the transport unit located between two receptacles arranged one behind the other, a sensor for detecting coins is provided in each case. The control unit then determines the number of coins fed to one of the receptacles by subtracting the number of coins, determined in the transport section located behind the receptacle, from the number of coins detected in the transport section located in front of the receptacle. Thus, the number of coins supplied for each receptacle can be easily determined.
For the last receptacle seen in the direction of transport, it is not necessary to provide another sensor after it so that the control unit accepts, as the number of coins fed to it, the number determined by the sensor located immediately before the last receptacle. Both the first sensor and the second sensor preferably each comprise a light barrier, wherein by interrupting the light barrier in each case the transport of a coin along this transport section is detected. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the other sensors for detecting coins also each comprise a light barrier. The use of light barriers has the advantage that with their help, the coins can be detected easily and reliably and the photocells are inexpensive to purchase. Alternatively, it is also possible to use ultrasonic sensors, capacitive sensors and / or inductive sensors instead of light barriers. Likewise, it is also possible that different types of sensors are used in the different transport sections.
Furthermore, a test unit for determining the denomination of supplied coins can be provided, wherein the control unit determines from the determined denominations for each receptacle a desired value of the coins to be supplied to it according to plan.
In particular, the examination unit serves not only to determine the denomination but also to verify the authenticity of the coins. As falsely classified coins and / or other objects are sorted out in particular before the other coins are supplied by the transport unit to the receptacles.
The test unit is arranged in particular upstream of the transport unit and downstream of the singulation unit.
It is particularly advantageous if the control unit compares for at least one of the receptacles the number of coins supplied, that is to say the actual number, determined with the aid of the sensors, with the corresponding desired value.
The control unit may make a comparison between the target value and the actually supplied number of coins after the supply of each single coin, respectively after the supply of a predetermined number of coins and / or after the supply of all as a coin in the device execute entered coins. The comparison after the delivery of each coin has the advantage that it can be detected immediately if there is an error. The comparison after the supply of a predetermined number of coins and / or all coins of a coin quantity, on the other hand, offers the advantage that fewer comparisons are necessary. In any case, since the payout of coins does not take place until all the coins of a given amount of coins have been distributed to the receptacles, there is also no risk during the division of the coins that an erroneous amount is due to the misfeeding of a coin to a wrong receptacle could be disbursed.
In a particularly preferred embodiment of the invention, the control unit determines not only that at least one coin was supplied to a wrong receptacle, but concretely determines which receptacle the wrong coin was supplied. This can happen because the control unit compares to which receptacles too few and which receptacles in particular too many coins were supplied. If more coins have been supplied to a receptacle than coins of the corresponding denomination have been entered, at least one false coin must be received in such a receptacle.
It is particularly advantageous if, when dispensing coins via an output unit, the control unit does not use those receptacles in which at least one coin intended for this receptacle has been received. The control unit replaces this particular the denomination to be inadvertently taken from this receptacle by a corresponding number of coins of other denominations from other receptacles.
In an alternative embodiment of the invention, the control unit can not only those receptacles in which an unallocated coin was added, but use all receptacles in which the actual value deviates from the desired value, not for later disbursement.
The transport unit is in particular designed such that it has a bearing surface on which the coins rest during transport along the transport unit. In particular, a plurality of holes are provided in the support surface, wherein in each case one of the receptacles is arranged below each hole. The holes differ in size, with the size of the holes increasing in the transport direction from hole to hole, so that the coins are distributed according to their size and thus according to their denomination, without the need for active elements to be controlled, to the individual receptacles , Thus, a simple, inexpensive solution for effective sorting is achieved.
The sensors are preferably arranged shortly before the holes, so that they can be used to determine the number of coins supplied to the holes. The distance is in this case chosen such that the coins, when they are transported past, still rest on the support surface and are not yet in the case in the hole.
In an alternative embodiment of the invention, instead of a bearing surface with holes, actively controlled elements for sorting the coins onto the respective receptacles may also be used.
Further, it is advantageous if the device has an output unit for outputting information, wherein the control unit, when it has determined the erroneous feeding of at least one coin to a receptacle, controls the output unit such that it outputs information about this to an operator. The output can be made in particular via a display, a warning tone, and / or a screen. Thus, an operator can easily correct the erroneous sorting. Since the operator knows in particular concretely about the information in which of the receiving containers a coin was incorrectly supplied, the operator only has to manually correct this receiving container accordingly.

The
In the

Through the
By means of the information obtained via the
