Description

  • La présente invention se rapporte au domaine des réseaux de télécommunication sans fil utilisant la technique MIMO (pour « Multiple-Input Multiple-Output » en anglais). Elle concerne en particulier un système d'antenne panneau à polarisation croisée et inclinaison électrique variable VET comportant plusieurs ports de transmission / réception destiné à être utilisé dans une station de base d'un réseau de télécommunication mobile.
  • Un réseau mobile terrestre public PLMN (pour « Public Land Mobile Network » en anglais) est un réseau de télécommunication qui permet aux utilisateurs autorisés d'accéder à différents services (téléphonie, messagerie, transmissions de données, diffusions de contenus audiovisuels...) en situation de mobilité à partir de terminaux portatifs. Les réseaux de télécommunication sans fil utilisant la technique MIMO permettent des transferts de données à longue portée et à grande vitesse. Un réseau MIMO utilise plusieurs antennes tant au niveau de l'émetteur que du récepteur.
  • Différents principes ont été mis en oeuvre afin d'augmenter le débit du réseau. Par exemple la réception en diversité spatiale à plusieurs voies de réception permet d'augmenter le rapport signal / bruit de la transmission grâce au gain de diversité. Il s'agit d'utiliser la pluralité de trajets créés par l'environnement pour réceptionner simultanément un même message sur différentes antennes. Les signaux reçus sur chacune des antennes de réception sont ensuite remis en phase et sommés de façon cohérente. Dans le système utilisant la formation de faisceau (« Beamforming » en anglais) par exemple encore, le réseau d'antenne MIMO, comportant plusieurs antennes à l'émission et à la réception, est utilisé pour orienter et contrôler le faisceau d'onde radio afin de créer des lobes constructifs et/ou destructifs et d'optimiser la transmission entre l'émetteur et la cible. Ces techniques de formation de faisceau permettent d'étendre une couverture radio et de limiter les interférences entre utilisateurs.
  • Pour améliorer le débit du réseau, on a introduit des techniques d'antennes avancées (diversité de polarisation, MIMO, formation de faisceau) pouvant s'appliquer à un système d'antenne panneau à polarisation croisée et inclinaison électrique variable dit VET (pour « Variable Electrical Tilt » en anglais) comportant plusieurs ports de réception RX. La plupart des systèmes d'antennes installés aujourd'hui sur les réseaux de télécommunication sans fil sont à inclinaison électrique variable et équipés d'unités de contrôle de l'inclinaison électrique à distance RET (pour « Remote Electrical Tilt » en anglais) permettant de piloter à distance les paramètres d'inclinaison d'un système d'antenne directement via le centre d'opération et de maintenance OMC (pour « Operation and Maintenance Center » en anglais) de l'opérateur.
  • L'architecture traditionnelle d'un système d'antenne panneau à polarisation croisée et inclinaison électrique variable VET comportant quatre ports est constituée par exemple de deux antennes panneaux unitaires traditionnelles à polarisation croisée (+45° et -45°) et inclinaison électrique variable VET comportant chacune un port de réception RX et un port de transmission/réception TX / RX. Chacune de ces antennes panneaux unitaires est associée à une unité de contrôle de l'inclinaison électrique à distance RET pour le pilotage individuel des paramètres d'inclinaison de chacune des antennes panneaux unitaires respectivement. Les valeurs des paramètres d'inclinaison sont imposées indépendamment pour chacune des antennes panneaux unitaires via chacune des unités de contrôle de l'inclinaison électrique à distance RET qui leur sont respectivement associées. La valeur de l'inclinaison est donc identique pour les deux polarisations +45° et -45° d'une même antenne panneau unitaire.
  • D'une part, il est par exemple impossible avec cette architecture de différencier la couverture en transmission TX de la couverture en réception RX du système d'antenne panneau en changeant les paramètres d'inclinaison à partir des unités de contrôle de l'inclinaison électrique à distance RET. En effet, imposer des inclinaisons différentes aux deux antennes panneaux unitaires implique d'avoir aussi deux réglages différents de l'inclinaison pour la couverture en transmission TX ce qui n'est ni nécessaire, ni recommandé pour l'amélioration du fonctionnement de diversité en réception RX à quatre voies.
  • D'autre part, dans le cas d'un fonctionnement de type formation de faisceau de ce système d'antenne panneau à quatre ports, il est nécessaire de combiner deux ports de polarisation identique (+45° ou -45°). Avec cette architecture habituelle, il est donc nécessaire d'appliquer des réglages identiques de l'inclinaison de chaque antenne panneau unitaire pour maintenir un fonctionnement de type formation de faisceau. En conséquence, les deux faisceaux combinés en mode réception RX ont la même inclinaison et ne diffèrent que par leur polarisation.
  • Le document US 2009/0066595 A1 divulgue une antenne comme définie dans le préambule de la revendication 1.
  • La présente invention a pour but de palier ces deux inconvénients principaux de l'art antérieur en proposant une architecture de système d'antenne panneau qui offre un degré de liberté supplémentaire dans la mise en oeuvre des techniques d'antennes avancées, tels que MIMO et MIMO + formation de faisceau, utilisant des systèmes d'antenne panneau à polarisation croisée et inclinaison électrique variable VET comportant au moins quatre ports, afin de contribuer à améliorer les performances du réseau auquel il appartient.
  • L'objet de la présente invention est un système d'antenne panneau à polarisation croisée et inclinaison électrique variable comportant plusieurs ports, comprenant au moins deux antennes panneaux unitaires, ayant chacune deux ports de polarisation différente et deux séries d'éléments rayonnants alignés, et au moins deux interfaces mécaniques reliées au réseau d'alimentation des éléments rayonnants de chaque polarité. Chaque interface mécanique est reliée aux ports de même polarité appartenant respectivement à la première antenne panneau unitaire et à la deuxième antenne panneau unitaire.
  • Cette architecture pour un système d'antenne panneau à polarisation croisée et inclinaison électrique variable VET comportant quatre ports, est équipé de deux unités de contrôle de l'inclinaison électrique à distance RET où chacune de ces unités de contrôle RET contrôlent respectivement la polarisation +45° des deux antennes panneaux unitaires d'une part, et la polarisation -45° des deux antennes panneaux unitaires d'autre part.
  • De préférence chaque interface mécanique est reliée à une unité de contrôle de l'inclinaison électrique à distance de cette polarité. L'unité de contrôle de l'inclinaison électrique à distance RET est un composant qui vient se brancher sur une interface mécanique assurant la transition entre ce composant et le dispositif qui permet de contrôler de manière électromécanique l'inclinaison électrique variable de l'antenne en modifiant les phases du réseau d'alimentation des éléments rayonnants appartenant à chacune des polarisations.
  • Ce système d'antenne panneau présente de nombreux avantages par rapport à l'art antérieur.
  • D'une part ce système d'antenne panneau permet d'améliorer les paramètres de découplage entre les ports TX / RX et RX d'une même antenne panneau unitaire, pour permettre un ajustement précis du découplage entre les ports. Il apporte plus de souplesse aux opérateurs en leur permettant d'ajuster au mieux le découplage entre les ports TX / RX et RX de ce système d'antenne panneau,
  • D'autre part il permet aussi dans une application en diversité à plusieurs voies de définir des couvertures différentes pour les voies TX / RX et RX afin d'améliorer le gain en diversité de réception sans impacter la transmission, ceci via un réglage des paramètres d'inclinaison qui peut être différent pour chacune des unités de contrôle de l'inclinaison électrique à distance RET.
  • Enfin ce système d'antenne panneau autorise l'introduction d'une sectorisation verticale dans la cellule couverte par l'émetteur, en permettant de différencier la couverture TX / RX de la couverture RX par le réglage d'une inclinaison différente au moyen de chacune des unités de contrôle de l'inclinaison électrique à distance RET. Il permet d'améliorer les performances du système en mode MIMO et MIMO + formation de faisceau, en offrant la possibilité d'appliquer des configurations d'inclinaison différentes sur les faisceaux formés en réception. Ce qui ajoute ainsi à la diversité de polarisation entre ces faisceaux, une diversité liée à la sectorisation verticale de la cellule couverte par l'émetteur.

  • Dans le mode de réalisation de l'invention illustré sur la figure, le système d'antenne panneau 1 comporte deux antennes panneaux unitaires 2A et 2B comprenant chacune deux séries d'éléments rayonnants alignés.
