Description
- The present invention relates to a fixed assembly comprising a cooking top of kitchens and for gas cookers, with a gas burner installed therein.
- As is known, in terms of construction, gas burners for cooktops are made up of a chamber, under a burner cap, which is fed by a Venturi tube folded in an L shape into which the gas is injected and into which combustion air is aspirated. Generally the burner is supported by the cooktop or by a cross-member which is placed under the cooktop, but it can also be installed with a bracket mounting.
- In the latter case the burner is supported by a lateral support, normally at the gas intake part, to which the Venturi tube is connected by way of a coupling.
- This mounting however exhibits the drawback of requiring the horizontal regulation of the burner by mechanical means for setting and adjustment such as screws, in order to ensure the perfect alignment between the flow of gas that exits from the nozzle and the Venturi tube.
- Therefore these burners, although they are not supported by the cooktop or by a supporting cross-member, can still be mounted correctly.
- However, this type of mounting sometimes has the drawback of being prone to accidental extraction, to the accidental rotation of the Venturi tube, and to the loss of alignment between the axis of the nozzle and the Venturi tube owing to the loosening of the mechanical means for setting and adjustment.
-
US 3 276 441 A discloses a burner assembly having a Venturi tube and a burner base that are rigidly coupled to a spillover pan, which is itself supported on one side by a bracket supported by the base of the cooking device, and on another end part by the gas supply fitting. -
GB 2 025 027 A - The aim of the present invention is to overcome the above drawback, by providing a fixed assembly comprising a cooking top for kitchens and for gas cookers, with a gas burner installed therein, which can be stably installed and easily removed for the ordinary cleaning operations of the kitchen.
- Within this aim, an object of the invention is to offer a gas burner that can be installed quickly and easily.
- In accordance with the invention, there is provided a fixed assembly as defined in the appended claims.
- Further characteristics and advantages of the invention will become more apparent from the description of three preferred, but not exclusive, embodiments of the fixed assembly according to the invention, which are illustrated by way of nonlimiting example in the accompanying drawings, wherein:
-
Figure 1 is a side view of the fixed assembly according to the invention in the first embodiment thereof, assembled and in a condition for use; -
Figure 2 , similarly toFigure 1 , is a side view, exploded, of the gas burner; -
Figure 3 is a perspective view of the gas burner, assembled and in a condition for use; -
Figure 4 is a perspective view of the supporting body of the gas burner ; -
Figure 5 is a front elevation view from the rear of a portion of the gas burner; -
Figure 6 is a view of a portion of the fixed assembly in a second embodiment thereof; -
Figure 7 is a view of a portion of the fixed assembly in a third embodiment thereof; -
Figure 8 is a view of another portion of the gas burner. - With reference to the figures, in its first embodiment the gas burner is generally designated by the
reference numeral 10 and comprises an L-shaped body which forms a Venturitube 11 which has a gas intake part and a gas discharge part. - The Venturi
tube 11 ends, at the gas intake part, in ashank 12 that mates with a supportingbody 13 which is integral with aside wall 14 of the kitchen. - The supporting
body 13 has anappendage 15 which supports anozzle 16 for dispensing the gas and is shaped complementary to theshank 12 which is positioned so as to contain theappendage 15 and is locked to it by means of anelement 17 that passes partially through both of them, thus preventing the extraction of theshank 12. - The
shank 12 and theappendage 15 are substantially cylindrical and the latter has a diameter which is substantially equal to the inner diameter of theshank 12. - The
element 17 comprises aspring 18, which is integral with theshank 12 and is constituted by a metallic wire which is bent so as to form aring 21 into which ascrew 22 is inserted. -
Such screw 22 is screwed into ahole 23 provided on the wall of theshank 12 and has apart 24, i.e. a stem portion, which protrudes inside theshank 12 and during mounting is positioned in agroove 25 provided in the outer wall of theappendage 15. - Advantageously, the
spring 18 comprises afirst portion 26 of metallic wire, which abuts against theshank 12, and asecond portion 27 which has a length that is such as to act as a retention lever (so as to lock theshank 12 to the appendage 15), which passes through awindow 19 in theshank 12 and which during the mounting operation is also inserted in aslot 20, which is provided in theappendage 15, at thesame window 19. - The supporting
body 13 comprises aportion 28, for placing against theside wall 14, which has, at opposite sides, two perforatedprotrusions 29 for fixing to the wall by mechanical means such as screws. - Conveniently, the supporting
body 13 is internally hollow and has a connectingportion 30 for thehose 31, for delivery of the gas, which is connected by interposing thegasket 32. - On the gas discharge part the Venturi
tube 11 supports thechamber 33 above which aburner cap 34 and aplate 35 of known types are mounted, which are arranged under agrid 36 for supporting cooking pots. - In the second embodiment the gas burner is generally designated by the
reference numeral 110 and is shown inFigure 6 . For the sake of simplicity only a portion of thegas burner 110, the most innovative part of the invention, is shown. The remaining portion which is not shown is similar to that of the previous embodiment. - As in the first embodiment the
gas burner 110 comprises a Venturitube 111 which ends at the gas intake part in ashank 112 that is coupled with a supportingbody 113. - The supporting
body 113 is made integral with theside wall 14 of the kitchen, being provided in this case also with a supportingportion 128 which is provided with two perforatedprotrusions 129 for fixing by adapted mechanical means of fixing, is conveniently hollow on the inside and has a connectingportion 130 for thehose 131 for delivery of the gas. - The supporting
body 113 has anappendage 115 which supports anozzle 116 for dispensing the gas and is shaped complementary to theshank 112 which is arranged so as to contain it. In this embodiment too, theappendage 115 and theshank 112 are substantially cylindrical and theappendage 115 has a diameter that is substantially equal to the inner diameter of theshank 112. - The
shank 112 is locked to theappendage 115 by means of an element, designated here with thereference numeral 117, that passes at least partially through both of them. - Differently from the first embodiment, the
element 117 is provided by a flat bar which is pivoted with apin 137 to anupper protuberance 138 of theshank 112 and is adapted, as in the previous embodiment, to prevent the extraction of theshank 112 from theappendage 115. In fact, it is inserted with alocking portion 139 thereof in thewindow 119, which is provided on one side of theshank 112, and in theslot 120, which is provided on theappendage 115 at thewindow 119, as a consequence of its downward rotation about thepin 137. It is advantageously provided with amass 140 at the lower end thereof which prevents the opposite rotation thereof upward. In other possible variants the bar can be without themass 140 and the opposite rotation is still prevented by its own weight. - More specifically, the bar is connected to the
upper protuberance 139 by means of anadditional portion 141 which is provided by an extension which is transverse to the bar and is traversed by thepin 137. - Also as in the first embodiment, the
shank 112 has ahole 123 in its wall into which ascrew 122 is screwed which protrudes with apart 124 thereof (a stem portion) into theshank 112 and is positioned in thegroove 125 provided in theappendage 115. - In the third embodiment of the invention, the gas burner is generally designated by the
reference numeral 210 and its most innovative portion is shown inFigure 7 as in the second embodiment. - As in the previous embodiments it comprises a Venturi
tube 211 which has a gas intake part and a gas discharge part at which it ends in a shank, here designated with thereference numeral 212, which mates with a supportingbody 213. - The supporting
body 213 is integral with theside wall 14 of the kitchen, being associated therewith by means of aportion 228, for supporting, which has, at opposite sides, two perforatedprotrusions 229 for fixing to theside wall 14 by adapted mechanical means for fixing. - The supporting
body 213 is hollow on the inside, has a connectingportion 230 for ahose 231 for delivery of the gas and, on the side for mating with theshank 212, it has anappendage 215 that supports anozzle 216 for dispensing the gas, which is shaped complementary to theshank 212 which is arranged so as to contain it. - The
shank 212 and theappendage 215 are substantially cylindrical and theappendage 215 has a diameter which is substantially equal to the inner diameter of theshank 212. - The
shank 212 is locked to theappendage 215 by means of anelement 217 that passes at least partially through both of them. - In particular
such element 217 is provided in this third embodiment by a flat bar which is pivoted with apin 237 to anupper protuberance 238 of theshank 212 and is adapted to prevent the extraction of theshank 212 from theappendage 215 by being inserted with a locking portion thereof 239 in thewindow 219 which is provided on theshank 212 and in theslot 220 which is provided in theappendage 215 at thewindow 219. - The bar is connected to the
upper protuberance 238 by means of anadditional portion 241 which is provided by an extension which is transverse to the bar and is traversed by thepin 237. - Advantageously, between the
shank 212 and thisadditional portion 241 anelastic element 242 is interposed for preventing the rotation of the bar about thepin 237. - In particular, such
elastic element 242 consists of a spring which, conveniently fixed with afixing screw 243 to a part of theupper protuberance 238 comprised between theshank 212 and theadditional portion 241, presses on these two elements with tworespective extensions 244 at its ends. - In this embodiment too a
hole 223 is provided in the wall of theshank 212 into which ascrew 222 is inserted which protrudes with apart 224 thereof (a stem portion) inside theshank 212 and is positioned in thegroove 225 provided in theappendage 215. - Other,
equivalent gas burners 10a, like the one designated inFigure 8 , have a linear Venturitube 11a. The figure only shows a portion ofgas burner 10a, since the portion on the side for association with the side wall is already shown and described in the three embodiments. - The use of the gas burner, in the first embodiment thereof and in the step of mounting, is as follows.
- The
screw 22 is inserted into thering 21 of the metallic wire and is screwed into thehole 23 of theshank 12. - The
second portion 27 of metallic wire is pulled away from thewindow 19, so as to allow the Venturitube 11 to be positioned so that theshank 12 will contain theappendage 15, and later it is released so as to return to the initial position, being inserted in theslot 20 of theappendage 15. - During the positioning of the Venturi
tube 11 thescrew 22 is inserted with thepart 24 thereof, which protrudes inside theshank 12, in thegroove 25. - It should be noted that the insertion of the
second portion 27 in theslot 20 prevents the accidental extraction of the Venturitube 11 from the supportingbody 13. - It should also be noted that the
part 24, by being inserted in thegroove 25, prevents the accidental rotation of the Venturitube 11. - If it becomes necessary to disassemble the gas burner, it is sufficient to pull away the
second portion 27 of metallic wire, until it is completely removed from theslot 20 and from thewindow 19, and remove theVenturi tube 11 from the supportingbody 13. - In the use of the gas burner in the second embodiment the
screw 122 is screwed into thehole 123 of theshank 112 and the bar is induced to rotate upward about thepin 137, away from theshank 112, and subsequently theVenturi tube 111 is positioned so that theshank 112 will contain theappendage 115 of the supportingbody 113 and thescrew 122 will be positioned with thepart 124 in thegroove 125. The bar is induced to rotate downward to approach theshank 112 and theappendage 115, so as to be inserted with its lockingportion 139 in thewindow 119 and in thecorresponding slot 120, passing partially through both elements. - It should be noted that the locking of the
shank 112 is ensured over time by the fact that the opposite, upward rotation of the bar is prevented by its own weight, the effect of which can be increased with the addition of themass 140. - The use of the gas burner in the third embodiment is similar to the previous embodiments, but it should be noted that in this case the locking of the
shank 212 is ensured by the presence of the spring, which with itsextensions 244 presses on theshank 212 and on theadditional portion 241 thus opposing the upward rotation of the bar, which therefore can occur only as a result of voluntary external action during mounting or disassembling of the burner. - In practice it has been found that the invention achieves the set objective in that, by preventing the accidental extraction and rotation of the hose, it ensures a stable coupling of the Venturi tube with the supporting body and ensures its alignment with the axis of the nozzle.
- Another advantage of the fixed assembly according to the invention is that it simplifies the operations of positioning and locking the Venturi tube on the supporting body and in that moreover it facilitates any disassembly operations.
- The fixed assembly thus conceived is susceptible of numerous modifications and variations, all of which are within the scope of the appended claims.
- In practice the materials employed, provided they are compatible with the specific use, and the contingent dimensions and shapes, may be any according to requirements and to the state of the art.
