Description

  • The present invention relates to a fixed assembly comprising a cooking top of kitchens and for gas cookers, with a gas burner installed therein.
  • As is known, in terms of construction, gas burners for cooktops are made up of a chamber, under a burner cap, which is fed by a Venturi tube folded in an L shape into which the gas is injected and into which combustion air is aspirated. Generally the burner is supported by the cooktop or by a cross-member which is placed under the cooktop, but it can also be installed with a bracket mounting.
  • In the latter case the burner is supported by a lateral support, normally at the gas intake part, to which the Venturi tube is connected by way of a coupling.
  • This mounting however exhibits the drawback of requiring the horizontal regulation of the burner by mechanical means for setting and adjustment such as screws, in order to ensure the perfect alignment between the flow of gas that exits from the nozzle and the Venturi tube.
  • Therefore these burners, although they are not supported by the cooktop or by a supporting cross-member, can still be mounted correctly.
  • However, this type of mounting sometimes has the drawback of being prone to accidental extraction, to the accidental rotation of the Venturi tube, and to the loss of alignment between the axis of the nozzle and the Venturi tube owing to the loosening of the mechanical means for setting and adjustment.
  • US 3 276 441 A discloses a burner assembly having a Venturi tube and a burner base that are rigidly coupled to a spillover pan, which is itself supported on one side by a bracket supported by the base of the cooking device, and on another end part by the gas supply fitting.
  • GB 2 025 027 A discloses a burner assembly having a burner body with Venturi tube that is connected to the base container of the cooker by means of a protruding lug. The injector support is fixed to the base container by means of a protruberance of a ring.
  • The aim of the present invention is to overcome the above drawback, by providing a fixed assembly comprising a cooking top for kitchens and for gas cookers, with a gas burner installed therein, which can be stably installed and easily removed for the ordinary cleaning operations of the kitchen.
  • Within this aim, an object of the invention is to offer a gas burner that can be installed quickly and easily.
  • In accordance with the invention, there is provided a fixed assembly as defined in the appended claims.
  • Further characteristics and advantages of the invention will become more apparent from the description of three preferred, but not exclusive, embodiments of the fixed assembly according to the invention, which are illustrated by way of nonlimiting example in the accompanying drawings, wherein:
    • Figure 1 is a side view of the fixed assembly according to the invention in the first embodiment thereof, assembled and in a condition for use;
    • Figure 2, similarly to Figure 1, is a side view, exploded, of the gas burner;
    • Figure 3 is a perspective view of the gas burner, assembled and in a condition for use;
    • Figure 4 is a perspective view of the supporting body of the gas burner ;
    • Figure 5 is a front elevation view from the rear of a portion of the gas burner;
    • Figure 6 is a view of a portion of the fixed assembly in a second embodiment thereof;
    • Figure 7 is a view of a portion of the fixed assembly in a third embodiment thereof;
    • Figure 8 is a view of another portion of the gas burner.
  • With reference to the figures, in its first embodiment the gas burner is generally designated by the reference numeral 10 and comprises an L-shaped body which forms a Venturi tube 11 which has a gas intake part and a gas discharge part.
  • The Venturi tube 11 ends, at the gas intake part, in a shank 12 that mates with a supporting body 13 which is integral with a side wall 14 of the kitchen.
  • The supporting body 13 has an appendage 15 which supports a nozzle 16 for dispensing the gas and is shaped complementary to the shank 12 which is positioned so as to contain the appendage 15 and is locked to it by means of an element 17 that passes partially through both of them, thus preventing the extraction of the shank 12.
  • The shank 12 and the appendage 15 are substantially cylindrical and the latter has a diameter which is substantially equal to the inner diameter of the shank 12.
  • The element 17 comprises a spring 18, which is integral with the shank 12 and is constituted by a metallic wire which is bent so as to form a ring 21 into which a screw 22 is inserted.
  • Such screw 22 is screwed into a hole 23 provided on the wall of the shank 12 and has a part 24, i.e. a stem portion, which protrudes inside the shank 12 and during mounting is positioned in a groove 25 provided in the outer wall of the appendage 15.
  • Advantageously, the spring 18 comprises a first portion 26 of metallic wire, which abuts against the shank 12, and a second portion 27 which has a length that is such as to act as a retention lever (so as to lock the shank 12 to the appendage 15), which passes through a window 19 in the shank 12 and which during the mounting operation is also inserted in a slot 20, which is provided in the appendage 15, at the same window 19.
  • The supporting body 13 comprises a portion 28, for placing against the side wall 14, which has, at opposite sides, two perforated protrusions 29 for fixing to the wall by mechanical means such as screws.
  • Conveniently, the supporting body 13 is internally hollow and has a connecting portion 30 for the hose 31, for delivery of the gas, which is connected by interposing the gasket 32.
  • On the gas discharge part the Venturi tube 11 supports the chamber 33 above which a burner cap 34 and a plate 35 of known types are mounted, which are arranged under a grid 36 for supporting cooking pots.
  • In the second embodiment the gas burner is generally designated by the reference numeral 110 and is shown in Figure 6. For the sake of simplicity only a portion of the gas burner 110, the most innovative part of the invention, is shown. The remaining portion which is not shown is similar to that of the previous embodiment.
  • As in the first embodiment the gas burner 110 comprises a Venturi tube 111 which ends at the gas intake part in a shank 112 that is coupled with a supporting body 113.
  • The supporting body 113 is made integral with the side wall 14 of the kitchen, being provided in this case also with a supporting portion 128 which is provided with two perforated protrusions 129 for fixing by adapted mechanical means of fixing, is conveniently hollow on the inside and has a connecting portion 130 for the hose 131 for delivery of the gas.
  • The supporting body 113 has an appendage 115 which supports a nozzle 116 for dispensing the gas and is shaped complementary to the shank 112 which is arranged so as to contain it. In this embodiment too, the appendage 115 and the shank 112 are substantially cylindrical and the appendage 115 has a diameter that is substantially equal to the inner diameter of the shank 112.
  • The shank 112 is locked to the appendage 115 by means of an element, designated here with the reference numeral 117, that passes at least partially through both of them.
  • Differently from the first embodiment, the element 117 is provided by a flat bar which is pivoted with a pin 137 to an upper protuberance 138 of the shank 112 and is adapted, as in the previous embodiment, to prevent the extraction of the shank 112 from the appendage 115. In fact, it is inserted with a locking portion 139 thereof in the window 119, which is provided on one side of the shank 112, and in the slot 120, which is provided on the appendage 115 at the window 119, as a consequence of its downward rotation about the pin 137. It is advantageously provided with a mass 140 at the lower end thereof which prevents the opposite rotation thereof upward. In other possible variants the bar can be without the mass 140 and the opposite rotation is still prevented by its own weight.
  • More specifically, the bar is connected to the upper protuberance 139 by means of an additional portion 141 which is provided by an extension which is transverse to the bar and is traversed by the pin 137.
  • Also as in the first embodiment, the shank 112 has a hole 123 in its wall into which a screw 122 is screwed which protrudes with a part 124 thereof (a stem portion) into the shank 112 and is positioned in the groove 125 provided in the appendage 115.
  • In the third embodiment of the invention, the gas burner is generally designated by the reference numeral 210 and its most innovative portion is shown in Figure 7 as in the second embodiment.
  • As in the previous embodiments it comprises a Venturi tube 211 which has a gas intake part and a gas discharge part at which it ends in a shank, here designated with the reference numeral 212, which mates with a supporting body 213.
  • The supporting body 213 is integral with the side wall 14 of the kitchen, being associated therewith by means of a portion 228, for supporting, which has, at opposite sides, two perforated protrusions 229 for fixing to the side wall 14 by adapted mechanical means for fixing.
  • The supporting body 213 is hollow on the inside, has a connecting portion 230 for a hose 231 for delivery of the gas and, on the side for mating with the shank 212, it has an appendage 215 that supports a nozzle 216 for dispensing the gas, which is shaped complementary to the shank 212 which is arranged so as to contain it.
  • The shank 212 and the appendage 215 are substantially cylindrical and the appendage 215 has a diameter which is substantially equal to the inner diameter of the shank 212.
  • The shank 212 is locked to the appendage 215 by means of an element 217 that passes at least partially through both of them.
  • In particular such element 217 is provided in this third embodiment by a flat bar which is pivoted with a pin 237 to an upper protuberance 238 of the shank 212 and is adapted to prevent the extraction of the shank 212 from the appendage 215 by being inserted with a locking portion thereof 239 in the window 219 which is provided on the shank 212 and in the slot 220 which is provided in the appendage 215 at the window 219.
  • The bar is connected to the upper protuberance 238 by means of an additional portion 241 which is provided by an extension which is transverse to the bar and is traversed by the pin 237.
  • Advantageously, between the shank 212 and this additional portion 241 an elastic element 242 is interposed for preventing the rotation of the bar about the pin 237.
  • In particular, such elastic element 242 consists of a spring which, conveniently fixed with a fixing screw 243 to a part of the upper protuberance 238 comprised between the shank 212 and the additional portion 241, presses on these two elements with two respective extensions 244 at its ends.
  • In this embodiment too a hole 223 is provided in the wall of the shank 212 into which a screw 222 is inserted which protrudes with a part 224 thereof (a stem portion) inside the shank 212 and is positioned in the groove 225 provided in the appendage 215.
  • Other, equivalent gas burners 10a, like the one designated in Figure 8, have a linear Venturi tube 11a. The figure only shows a portion of gas burner 10a, since the portion on the side for association with the side wall is already shown and described in the three embodiments.
  • The use of the gas burner, in the first embodiment thereof and in the step of mounting, is as follows.
  • The screw 22 is inserted into the ring 21 of the metallic wire and is screwed into the hole 23 of the shank 12.
  • The second portion 27 of metallic wire is pulled away from the window 19, so as to allow the Venturi tube 11 to be positioned so that the shank 12 will contain the appendage 15, and later it is released so as to return to the initial position, being inserted in the slot 20 of the appendage 15.
  • During the positioning of the Venturi tube 11 the screw 22 is inserted with the part 24 thereof, which protrudes inside the shank 12, in the groove 25.
  • It should be noted that the insertion of the second portion 27 in the slot 20 prevents the accidental extraction of the Venturi tube 11 from the supporting body 13.
  • It should also be noted that the part 24, by being inserted in the groove 25, prevents the accidental rotation of the Venturi tube 11.
  • If it becomes necessary to disassemble the gas burner, it is sufficient to pull away the second portion 27 of metallic wire, until it is completely removed from the slot 20 and from the window 19, and remove the Venturi tube 11 from the supporting body 13.
  • In the use of the gas burner in the second embodiment the screw 122 is screwed into the hole 123 of the shank 112 and the bar is induced to rotate upward about the pin 137, away from the shank 112, and subsequently the Venturi tube 111 is positioned so that the shank 112 will contain the appendage 115 of the supporting body 113 and the screw 122 will be positioned with the part 124 in the groove 125. The bar is induced to rotate downward to approach the shank 112 and the appendage 115, so as to be inserted with its locking portion 139 in the window 119 and in the corresponding slot 120, passing partially through both elements.
  • It should be noted that the locking of the shank 112 is ensured over time by the fact that the opposite, upward rotation of the bar is prevented by its own weight, the effect of which can be increased with the addition of the mass 140.
  • The use of the gas burner in the third embodiment is similar to the previous embodiments, but it should be noted that in this case the locking of the shank 212 is ensured by the presence of the spring, which with its extensions 244 presses on the shank 212 and on the additional portion 241 thus opposing the upward rotation of the bar, which therefore can occur only as a result of voluntary external action during mounting or disassembling of the burner.
  • In practice it has been found that the invention achieves the set objective in that, by preventing the accidental extraction and rotation of the hose, it ensures a stable coupling of the Venturi tube with the supporting body and ensures its alignment with the axis of the nozzle.
  • Another advantage of the fixed assembly according to the invention is that it simplifies the operations of positioning and locking the Venturi tube on the supporting body and in that moreover it facilitates any disassembly operations.
  • The fixed assembly thus conceived is susceptible of numerous modifications and variations, all of which are within the scope of the appended claims.
  • In practice the materials employed, provided they are compatible with the specific use, and the contingent dimensions and shapes, may be any according to requirements and to the state of the art.
  • Where technical features mentioned in any claim are followed by reference signs, such reference signs have been inserted for the sole purpose of increasing the intelligibility of the claims and accordingly such reference signs do not have any limiting effect on the interpretation of each element identified by way of example by such reference signs.
