Description

DEVICE FOR PRODUCING ELECTRIC ENERGY
Technical Field
The present invention relates to a device for producing electric energy.
Background Art
As is known, traditional machines for producing electricity are characterized by low yields, because of the high losses, of various kinds, to which they are subject.
Disclosure of the invention
The aim of the present invention is to solve the above-mentioned drawbacks, by providing a device for producing electric energy that makes it possible to achieve a high yield.
Within this aim, an object of the invention is to provide a device for producing electric energy that ensures a high reliability of operation.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a device for producing electric energy which is low-cost, relatively easy and practical to implement and safely applied.
This aim and these and other objects which will become more evident hereinafter, are achieved by a device for producing electric energy, which can be associated with a drive shaft that is designed to yield energy to a primary user, characterized in that it comprises a first rotating element which is integral with the drive shaft, and a second rotating element which is integral with a corresponding driven shaft, said rotating elements being directed toward each other and in proximity to each other and magnetically coupled to each other, for the entrainment of said driven shaft by said drive shaft and the consequent provision of mechanical energy to an electricity generator.
Brief description of the drawings
Further characteristics and advantages of the invention will become more apparent from the detailed description that follows of a preferred, but not exclusive, embodiment of the device for producing electric energy according to the invention, which is illustrated for the purposes of non- limiting example in the accompanying drawings wherein:
Figure 1 is a front view, sectional in a vertical plane, of a device according to the invention;
Figure 2 is a schematic view of the device according to the invention in conditions of use, in a first embodiment;
Figure 3 is a schematic view of the device according to the invention in conditions of use, in a second embodiment.
Ways of carrying out the invention
With reference to the figures, the reference numeral 1 generally designates a device for producing electric energy which can be associated with a drive shaft 2 that is designed to yield energy to a primary user 3.
The device according to the invention comprises a first rotating element 4, which is integral with the drive shaft 2, and a second rotating element 5, which is integral with a corresponding driven shaft 6.
The rotating elements 4 and 5 are directed toward each other and are in proximity to each other and magnetically coupled to each other, for the entrainment of the driven shaft 6 by the drive shaft 2 and the consequent supply of mechanical energy to an electricity generator 7.
In particular, the two rotating elements 4 and 5, which are not in direct contact, can, in the initial step of operation, slip with respect to each other, thus influencing the speed of rotation of the driven shaft 6.
Advantageously, the first element 4 is constituted by a pan 8 which is provided, at an end part 9, with a plurality of magnets 10 for coupling with the second element 5 and its magnetic entrainment.
Conveniently, the second element 5 is constituted by a flywheel 1 1 which is provided, at its face 12 directed toward the pan 8, with a concave seat 13 for accommodating the pan 8.
The flywheel 1 1 consists of a rotating mass that is capable of storing energy during the steps when there is a surplus of it, in order to return it during the passive steps.
In particular, a flywheel subjected to rotation acquires a different moment of inertia depending on the size, weight, the number of revolutions and the loads to which it is subjected.
The inner walls of the seat 13 comprise at least one portion 14 made of ferromagnetic material for coupling as a result of magnetic attraction to the pan 8.
More specifically, the pan 8 and the flywheel 1 1 are accommodated inside an enclosure 15 that has two openings 16 and 17 which are opposite each other and make it possible to insert respectively the drive shaft 2 and the driven shaft 6, thus isolating the pan 8 and the flywheel 1 1 from the outside environment.
The enclosure 15 is made up of an annular central body 18 to the ends of which two disks 19 are fixed, respectively provided with the openings 16 and 17.
The drive shaft 2 is associated with a corresponding engine 20 which is designed to power the primary user 3.
Merely for the purposes of example, the engine 20 can be constituted by a 220 V single-phase electric motor. The adoption is not ruled out of other types of engine which may offer different performance capabilities, but which are still adapted to the specific applicative purpose.
Between the driven shaft 6 and the electricity generator 7 transmission elements 21 are interposed, which are suitably dimensioned.
The transmission elements 21 can be constituted by two toothed wheels 22 and 23, or other toothed elements, of different sizes. The wheel of smaller diameter is commonly called the pinion 22, whereas the wheel of larger size is known as the crown wheel 23.
The adoption is not ruled out of other types of transmission elements 21 of the known type which have different structural and dimensional properties but are still adapted to the specific applicative purpose, so as to vary the angular speed and therefore the number of revolutions per minute and/or the other parameters of motion.
Moreover, interposed between the drive shaft 2 and the driven shaft 6, there is at least one bearing 24 for preventing direct contact between the shafts 2 and 6, which could cause losses.
The flywheel 1 1 is made of a non-magnetic material, preferably selected from aluminum and the like.
The pan 8 and the enclosure 15 are made of a non-magnetic material, preferably selected from aluminum and the like.
The use of the device 1 according to the invention is as follows.
During the normal operation of an engine 20, designed to power a user 3 of any type, it is possible to connect the engine 20 to the device 1 according to the invention.
Specifically, by coupling the drive shaft 2 to the engine 20, for example by means of a coaxial coupling, the drive shaft 2 can rotate about its axis, thus also causing rotation of the pan 8, jointly with an output shaft of the engine 20.
The energy taken from the engine 20 by the device 1 is negligible. In fact, the size, and consequently the weight, of the pan 8 are rather small, and therefore the initial force, necessary to cause rotation of the pan 8, is also small, and is such as to not substantially influence the operation of the engine 20.
When the pan 8 begins to rotate, the flywheel 1 1 , which is integral with the driven shaft 6, is entrained in rotation, being coupled by magnetic attraction with the pan 8.
In particular, the two rotating elements 4 and 5, which are not in direct contact, can, during the initial step of operation, slip with respect to each other, thus influencing the speed of rotation of the driven shaft 6.
This coupling by magnetic attraction is such as to enable a transmission of the motion of the pan 8 to the flywheel 11 , substantially without loss of energy.
Mechanical energy is thus transferred to the driven shaft 6 (entrained in rotation by the drive shaft 2) and this energy can in turn be converted into electricity by the generator 7.
As shown in Figure 3, it is moreover possible to interpose adapted transmission elements 21 in order to supply energy to the generator 7 varying the angular speed and therefore the number of revolutions per minute and/or the other parameters of motion.
In this way, thanks to the action of the engine 20, it is possible, in addition to powering a primary user 3, to supply further energy to a generator 7 thus obtaining higher yields.
In practice it has been found that the device 1 for producing electrical energy according to the invention fully achieves the set aim, in that it offers a higher yield.
The invention, thus conceived, is susceptible of numerous modifications and variations, all of which are within the scope of the appended claims. Moreover, all the details may be substituted by other, technically equivalent elements.
In the embodiments illustrated, individual characteristics shown in relation to specific examples may in reality be interchanged with other, different characteristics, existing in other embodiments.
In practice, the materials employed, as well as the dimensions, may be any according to requirements and to the state of the art.
Where the technical features mentioned in any claim are followed by reference numerals and/or signs, those reference numerals and/or signs have been included for the sole purpose of increasing the intelligibility of the claims and accordingly, such reference numerals and/or signs do not have any limiting effect on the interpretation of each element identified by way of example by such reference numerals and/or signs.
