  1. A connector (1), in particular an RJ45 connector, having:
    - a cable end device (7), with
    -- at least one line receiver (21), into which an associated electrical line (31c) of a cable (31) can be inserted at least in sections along a line insertion direction (L) and
    -- an arrangement side (7a), which has at least one line contact opening (25), which is connected with an associated line receiver (21),
    - a housing device (5) with
    -- a cable end device receiver (23), into which the cable end device (7) can be inserted at least in sections linearly along an insertion direction (E) differing from the line insertion direction (L) and
    -- at least one line contact (19), which can be inserted at least in sections into an associated line contact opening (25) through the insertion of the cable end device (7) into the cable end device receiver (23) and through which an associated electrical line (31c) can be contacted electrically and
    - a cover device (9), which can be arranged along the insertion direction (E) against the housing device (5) and can be fastened on the housing device (5),
    characterized in that
    the cable end device (7) has at least one engagement apparatus (27), which can be brought to engage with an associated complementary engagement apparatus (29) of the cover device (9) and
    the cable end device receiver (23) has at least one guide element (37), with which an associated complementary guide element (39) of the cable end device (7) can be contacted, whereby the cable end device (7) is only displaceable linearly along the insertion direction (E) in the cable end device receiver (23) and
    the housing device (5) has at least one cover guide element (41), with which an associated complementary cover guide element (43) of the cover device (9) can be contacted, whereby the cover device (9) is only displaceable linearly along the insertion direction (E) relative to the housing device (5).
  2. The connector (1) according to claim 1, wherein the at least one line contact (19) extends in the cable end device receiver (23) along the insertion direction (E) by a length that is measured such that the cable end device (7) is already received in sections in the cable end device receiver (23), before the at least one line contact (19) is inserted in sections in the associated line contact opening (25).
  3. The connector (1) according to one of the preceding claims, wherein the at least one line contact (19) is designed as an insulation displacement contact.
  4. The connector (1) according to one of the preceding claims, wherein the cover device (9) has at least one locking apparatus (33), which can be locked with a complementary locking apparatus (35) of the housing device (5).
  5. The connector (1) according to one of the preceding claims, wherein the cable end device (7) has at least one engagement apparatus (27), which can be brought to engage with an associated complementary engagement apparatus of the housing device (5).
  6. A method for fitting a connector (1) comprising the steps:
    - provision of a cable end device (7), with
    -- at least one line receiver (21), into which an associated electrical line (31c) of a cable (31) can be inserted at least in sections along a line insertion direction (L),
    -- an arrangement side (7a), which has at least one line contact opening (25), which is connected with an associated line receiver (21) and
    -- at least one engagement apparatus (27);
    - insertion at least in sections of at least one electrical line (31 c) into the associated line receiver (21) of the cable end device (7);
    - provision of a housing device (5) with
    -- a cable end device receiver (23), into which the cable end device (7) can be inserted at least in sections linearly along an insertion direction (E) differing from the line insertion direction (L) and
    -- at least one line contact (19), which can be inserted at least in sections into an associated line contact opening (25) through the insertion of the cable end device (7) into the cable end device receiver (23) and through which an associated electrical line (31c) can be contacted electrically;
    - insertion of the cable end device (7) along the insertion direction (E) into the cable end device receiver (23) of the housing device (5);
    - electrical contact of the at least one line contact (19) with the associated electrical line (31c) of the cable (31);
    characterized in that the method further comprises:
    - provision of a cover device (9) with a complementary engagement apparatus (29), which can be brought to engage with at least one associated engagement apparatus (27) of the cable end device (7) and
    - arrangement and fastening of the cover device (9) on the housing device (5) such that an associated complementary guide element (39) of the cable end device (7) is contacted with at least one guide element (37) of the cable end device receiver (23), whereby the cable end device (7) is only displaceable linearly along the insertion direction (E) in the cable end device receiver (23), and such that an associated complementary cover guide element (43) of the cover device (9) is contacted with at least one cover guide element (41) of the housing device (5), whereby the cover device (9) is only displaceable linearly along the insertion direction (E) relative to the housing device (5).
