inner plate 15E is comprised of a flat-plate shaped sheet member Sb made from synthetic resin as shown inFIGS. 1 and2 . Note that the sheet members Sa and Sb can be produced by extrusion or rolling without use of any molding die having a special shape. Furthermore, a commercially available flat-plate shaped sheet member may be used. - A vacuum
heat insulation panel 16 is provided between the outer andinner boxes FIG. 4 . The vacuumheat insulation panel 16 is composed of a plurality of divided plate-shaped unit panels. More specifically, the vacuumheat insulation panel 16 is composed of a leftupper unit panel 16A, aright unit panel 16B, anupper unit panel 16C as shown inFIG. 10 , a lower unit panel (not shown) and arear unit panel 16E. Since the unit panels are constructed in the same manner, theleft unit panel 16A will be described, for example. - The
left unit panel 16A is constructed by putting abase material 19 into anenvelope 20 and decompressing and sealing an interior of theenvelope 20 by vacuum evacuation, as shown inFIGS. 8 and9 . Thebase material 19 is formed into a plate shape by hardening a laminated material of inorganic fiber such as glass wool. Theenvelope 20 contains a metal layer such as an aluminum vapor deposition layer or aluminum foil layer in order to have a gas barrier performance that causes gas to pass through theenvelope 20. Each unit panel is generally referred to as "vacuum heat insulation panel." - The left
heat insulation wall 9 includes a leftouter plate 14A, a leftinner plate 15A and aleft unit panel 16A disposed between theplates FIG. 5 . The plates are bonded to one another into a unit heat insulation wall. Front ends of the outer andinner boxes heat insulation walls end connecting member 21, as shown inFIG. 8 . More specifically, regarding the front end of the leftheat insulation wall 9, the front ends of the left outer andinner plates end connecting member 21. The frontend connecting member 21 is made from synthetic resin and has a heat insulation performance. In this case, since the front ends of the right and leftheat insulation walls heat insulation wall 9 will be described. - The front ends of the left outer and
inner plates left unit panel 16A. The front end of the leftouter plate 14A is bent to the leftinner plate 15A side, extending to a central part in a thicknesswise direction of theleft unit panel 16A. A bent portion of the front end of left outerheat insulation wall 16A will be referred to as "bent portion 14Aa." In this case, the bent portion 14Aa does not extend rightward over the leftinner plate 15A. This suppresses flow of heat outside theheat insulation box 2 via theouter box 14, in this case, the leftouter plate 14A into the storage compartment. - An inner space is defined by the front end of the
left unit panel 16A, a front end inner surface of the leftouter plate 14A and an inner surface of the frontend connecting member 21. Themechanical compartment 11b is closed by amechanical compartment cover 11c as shown inFIG. 3 . - A distance between the
upper unit panel 16C and the upperouter plate 14C or a thickness of a part of the foam urethane is set to be smaller than a thickness of theupper unit panel 16C and an outer diameter of a pipe of the refrigeration cycle, for example, a suction pipe. This reduces an amount offoam urethane 24 used. InFIG. 10 , when pipes of the refrigeration cycle are arranged, the pipes may be caused to pass through the left upper corner of theheat insulation box 2 in the front-rear direction. In this case, the corner is a space surrounded by a left end surface of theupper unit panel 16C, an upper end surface of theleft unit panel 16A, a left edge of the upperouter plate 14C and an upper edge of the leftouter plate 14A. - The left end of the upper
outer plate 14C is connected to the leftouter plate 14A while being separate from the upper surface of theupper unit panel 16C, as shown inFIG. 10 . The right end of the upperouter plate 14C is also connected to the rightouter plate 14B while being separate from the upper surface of theupper unit panel 16C although the connection is not shown in detail. In this case, distal ends of the connecting portions 15C1 are connected to the leftinner plate 15A by a connecting member (not shown). - The left connecting portion 15C1 will now be described. Note that the right connecting portion is constructed in the same manner as the left connecting portion 15C1 and that the right connecting portion and the left connecting portion 15C1 are bilaterally symmetrical. The connecting portions 15C1 have respective ribs 15C2 as shown in
FIG. 10 . The connecting portion 15C1 has a rib 15C2 which is located at the inside of the distal end of the connecting portion 15C1 or at thefoam urethane 24 side and protrudes upward substantially in parallel to the leftinner plate 15A. Asoft tape 23 as a heat insulation material leak preventing member is inserted between the rib 15C2 and the leftinner plate 15A. Thesoft tape 23 suppresses leak offoam urethane 24 during the filling of the foam urethane. - The lower
heat insulation wall 12 has a lower unit panel (not shown) between the lowerouter plate 14D and the lowerinner plate 15D. The lower unit panel is bonded to the lowerouter plate 14D and the lowerinner plate 15D. Thus, a unit heat insulation wall is constructed. The lowerheat insulation wall 12 may be constructed by bonding the lowerinner plate 15D and the lower unit panel to each other and by filling a gap between the lower unit panel and the lowerouter plate 14D with foam urethane. A lowermost part of thewaste receiving portion 18 communicates with the outside of theheat insulation box 2 in the lowerheat insulation wall 12. - The rear
heat insulation wall 13 also includes a rearouter plate 14E, a rearinner plate 15E and arear unit panel 16E disposed between the rear outer andinner plates inner plates rear unit panel 16E are bonded to one another by a bonding agent. In this case, the sheetmember connecting plate 25 functions as a sheet member connecting member, and thefixture 26 functions as a first protrusion. The construction of the connection of the left and rearheat insulation walls rear walls heat insulation walls - The
fixtures 26 will firstly be described. Thefixtures 26 are provided on the leftheat insulation wall 9 and the rearheat insulation wall 13 so as to protrude to the refrigerator interior side. Since the structure of the fixture and the structure of the mounting of the fixture are common to the left and rearheat insulation walls fixtures 26 of the leftheat insulation wall 9 will be described. Eachfixture 26 is made of synthetic resin such as ABS resin and is formed into the shape of a rectangular parallelepiped which is long in the up-down direction. Eachfixture 26 has aflange 26a and ascrew hole 26c. Theflange 26a provided on one end side of the rectangular parallelepiped and protrudes in the up-down direction. Thescrew hole 26c is a female screw hole extending from the other end surface toward one end side of the rectangular parallelepiped of eachfixture 26. - When the left
heat insulation wall 9 is assembled, thefixtures 26 are firstly bonded to theleft unit panel 16A. The leftinner plate 15A or the sealing member Sa has vertically longrectangular holes 15u. After having been bonded to theleft unit panel 16A, eachfixture 26 is inserted into thehole 15u from the rear side of the leftinner plate 15A or theleft unit panel 16A side to the surface side or the storage compartment side. In this case, a bonding agent is applied between theleft unit panel 16A and the leftinner plate 15A. Accordingly, theleft unit panel 16A and the leftinner plate 15A are bonded to each other. Theflange 26a is held between the leftinner plate 15A and theleft unit panel 16A, whereby eachfixture 26 is fixed. Eachfixture 26 is thus mounted to the leftheat insulation wall 9, protruding into theinner box 15. A plurality offixtures 26 is provided on adjacent ends of the left and rearheat insulation walls - The sheet
member connecting plate 25 has substantially the same length as the leftinner plate 15A as shown inFIGS. 1 and2 . The sheetmember connecting plate 25 has both horizontal edges formed with L-shapedrecesses 25a respectively as shown inFIG. 9 . Therecesses 25a correspond to therespective fixtures 26. Therecesses 25a are formed with screw insertion holes 25b through which screws 27 are inserted. Thescrews 27 are then screwed into the screw holes 26c of thefixtures 26 respectively. Consequently, the left and rearinner plates member connecting plate 25. The sheetmember connecting plates 25 are provided at corners at both sides of therefrigerating compartment 57, thevegetable compartment 58, the small freezingcompartment 59, theice making compartment 60 and the freezingcompartment 61. -
Foam polystyrene 28 and asoft tape 29 are provided in a space in the rear of the sheetmember connecting plates 25 or a space surrounded by the sheetmember connecting plate 25, the leftinner plate 15A and the rearinner plate 15E. Each of thefoam polystyrene 28 and thesoft tape 29 serves as a heat insulating member. - The piping of the refrigeration cycle may be passed through the part of
foam polystyrene 28 inFIG. 9 so as to extend in the up-down direction. Shelf plate supports 30 are provided on the right and leftheat insulation walls FIGS. 1 and5 . The construction of theshelf plate support 30 will be described with reference toFIGS. 16 to 18 . Theshelf plate support 30 provided on the rightheat insulation wall 10 is constructed in the same manner as theshelf plate support 30 provided on the leftheat insulation wall 9. - The shelf plate supports 30 are components apart from the
inner plates shelf plate support 30 includes abody 30a, shelfplate supporting portions 30b and screwholes 30c all of which are formed integrally therewith. Thebody 30a is formed into the shape of a rectangular plate long in the up-down direction. The shelfplate supporting portions 30b are provided on one of two opposite sides of thebody 30a and protrude to the refrigerator interior side. Each shelfplate supporting portion 30b serves as a second protrusion. Three shelfplate supporting portions 30b are arranged on thebody 30a in the up-down direction. The screw holes 30c are located so as to correspond to the shelfplate supporting portions 30b respectively. The screw holes 30c extend through thebody 30a from the side opposed to the shelfplate supporting portions 30b to the shelfplate supporting portion 30b side, further to the middle of the shelfplate supporting portion 30b respectively. Eachscrew hole 30c is formed with a female thread on the inside thereof. Eachscrew hole 30c serves as a fastening member engagement portion. Eachscrew hole 30c has an opening peripheral edge formed with acountersink 30d which is open in a conical shape. - The left
inner plate 15A has screw insertion holes 31 as shown inFIG. 17 . Eachscrew insertion hole 31 serves as a fastening member insertion hole. The shelf plate supports 30 are mounted to the leftinner plate 15A before assembly of the leftheat insulation wall 9. In this case, countersunk screws 32, which have been inserted through the screw insertion holes 31 of the leftinner plate 15A, are screwed into the screw holes 30c of the shelf plate supports 30, respectively. As a result, theshelf plate support 30 is fixed to the inner surface of the leftinner plate 15A, that is, the side at therefrigerating compartment 57 while protruding to therefrigerating compartment 57 side. In this case, the countersunk screws 32 serve as fastening members. - In this case, the left
inner plate 15A is slightly deformable since the leftinner plate 15A is constructed of the sheet member. Accordingly, in the course of screwing the countersunk screws 32 into the screw holes 30c, countersunk screw heads 32a of thescrews 32 deform the peripheral edges of theholes 31 of the leftinner plate 15A into a dish shape such that the peripheral edges of theholes 31 are bulged to the refrigerator interior side or therefrigerating compartment 57 side, until the screw heads 32a abut against thecountersink 30d, respectively. Consequently, peripheral edges 31a of the screw insertion holes 31 depart from theleft unit panel 16A as shown inFIG. 18 . Furthermore, ends or the screw heads 32a of the countersunkscrew 32 do not protrude from the rear side of the leftinner plate 15A to theleft unit panel 16A side. -

Thetransverse beam member 52 includes afront partition plate 52a constituting the front, a reinforcingplate 52b, arear partition cover 52c and aheat insulating member 52d. The leftouter plate 14A of the leftheat insulation wall 9 has a front 14A1, which has a folded portion 14A2 formed by folding a distal end thereof. - The
front partition plate 52a is held between the reinforcingplate 52b and the folded portion 14A2. In assembling thetransverse beam member 52, thefront partition plate 52a and the reinforcingplate 52b are firstly integrated by screws 63. Left ends of thefront partition plate 52a and the reinforcingplate 52b are inserted into a space in the rear of the front 14A1 of the leftouter plate 14A. Subsequently, ascrew 62 is inserted through holes in the ends of the folded portion 14A2 of the leftouter plate 14A and thefront partition plate 52a and then screwed into the screw hole of the reinforcingplate 52b. As a result, thefront partition plate 52a is held between the reinforcingplate 52b and the folded portion 14A2 thereby to be fixed. - A

The mount is screwed by a fixture which is similar to thefixtures 26. - According to the above-described first embodiment, the right and left
inner plates inner box 15 are constructed of the flat-plate shaped sheet member Sa. The rearinner plate 15E is constructed of the flat-plate shaped sheet member Sb. According to this construction, the right and leftinner plates inner plate 15E do not necessitate forming dies in the manufacture. Accordingly, since the production can be simplified greatly with the result that theplates - The upper and lower
inner plates inner box 15 are an integrally molded article by the use of a die. However, the manufacture can be rendered easier and the production cost can also be reduced in this case as compared with the conventional construction in which an entireinner box 15 is integrally molded by the use of a larger die. Thus, the above-described construction can contribute to cost reduction in therefrigerator 1. In this case, at least one of the leftinner plate 15A, the right inner plate 15b, the upperinner plate 15C, the lowerinner plate 15D and the rearinner plate 15E is constructed of the sheet member. - In the above-described embodiment, the inner box is constructed by combining the left

In the conventional construction, the heat insulation box is constructed by assembling outer and inner boxes both of which are not divided. As a result, the boxes are large in size and require large-scale assembly operations. In the above-described embodiment, however, since theheat insulation box 2 is constructed by assembling theheat insulation walls 9 to 13 having the vacuum heat insulation panel, the assembly is rendered simpler and the assembling operations can be prevented from being large-scale with the result that the assembling work can be rendered easier. - According to the first embodiment, furthermore, the front end of the
inner box 15 part constructed of the sheet member is connected to the front end of theouter box 14 by the frontend connecting member 21. Accordingly, even a part of theinner box 15 constructed of the sheet member can easily be assembled, that is, joined by the frontend connecting member 21 which is a component discrete from theouter box 19. - In the first embodiment, furthermore, the
inner box 15 has the L-shapedportion 17 in the upperheat insulation wall 11 and thewaste receiving portion 18 in the lowerheat insulation wall 12. The L-shapedportion 17 is formed integrally with the upperinner plate 15C, and thewaste receiving portion 18 is formed integrally with the lowerinner plate 15D. inner box 15 has thefixtures 26 constructed of the component discrete from the sheet members Sa and Sb and serve as the first protrusions which protrude to the refrigerator interior side. Thefixtures 26 are directly bonded to the left unit panel in the assembly stage before assembly of the leftheat insulation wall 9, for example. Theholes 15u are formed through the right and leftinner plates inner plate 15E constructed by the sheet member Sb, respectively. Thefixtures 26 are inserted through theholes 15u respectively. - According to this construction, the
fixtures 26 can be positioned relative to theinner box 15, that is, the sheet members Sa and Sb by inserting thefixtures 26 through therespective holes 15u. The partition wall supports 35 and 36 and therear cover fixtures 37 have the same mounting structure as thefixtures 26. Accordingly, the partition wall supports 35 and 36 and therear cover fixtures 37 can also be positioned in the same manner as thefixtures 26. - The
fixtures 26 may be inserted through therespective holes 15u from the rear side of the sheet members Sa and Sb and bonded in the stage before assembly of the leftheat insulation wall 9. According to this construction, the unit panel and the integrally molded article of the unit panel, thefixtures 26 and the sheet members Sa and Sb can be bonded to each other, with the result that the assembly workability can be improved. - The mounting surface of the
fixtures 26 in theunit panel 16A may be recessed as shown inFIG. 13 . According to this construction, thefixtures 26 can be mounted without curving the sheet member Sa. - Furthermore, even if the
unit panel 16A bulges, theinner plate 15A is slightly deformed without break of theinner plate 15A since theinner plate 15A is constructed of the sheet member Sa. Furthermore, thefixtures 26, the shelf plate supports 30, theguide rail fixtures - According to this construction, the
fixtures 26 are directly bonded to theleft unit panel 16A, theright unit panel 16B and therear unit panel 16E. Accordingly, theunit panels inner plates fixtures 26 to the correspondinginner plates fixtures 26 are constructed of the ABS resin with high bondability, the bonding strength between thefixtures 26 and theunit panels - Furthermore, the partition wall supports 35 and 36 and the
rear cover fixtures 37 have the same mounting structure as thefixtures 26. Accordingly, the partition wall supports 35 and 36 and therear cover fixtures 37 can contribute to the positioning between the inner plates and the unit panels. Thefixtures 26 may be bonded via other members to theunit panels - In the first embodiment, furthermore, the
