- the outer panels 3 also comprise the fabric layer, this layer of fabric is previously bonded to one of the faces of the outer panels 3, with pressing of the two layers between two rollers.
- the surface of the carcass of the balloon or the balloon itself, covered by the strips 4 of elastomeric material is at most equal to 50% of the total surface area.
- the amount of elastomer used is therefore much lower with a balloon according to the invention compared to a balloon of the state of the art. It follows that the weight of the ball is reduced. The weight reduction depends on the size of the balloon and can reach 100 g.
- the feeling of hard contact on receipt of the balloon is reduced, since the hardest and stiffest parts correspond to the zones in which the strips 4 of vulcanized elastomeric material are arranged, and are reduced.
- the invention is not limited to the manufacture of a basketball at exactly three strips 4 of elastomeric material and exactly four external panels 3.
