Ein zusätzliches Element zum Halten des Scharnierstiftes in konstanter Position, beispielsweise Endkappen, die ein Verrutschen verhindern, ist nicht mehr erforderlich. Das in den Ausführungsbeispielen gezeigte Rollscharnier verfügt über drei Teilbereiche, von welchen jeder zwei Rollen 6, zwei Laschen 7 und ein Zwischenelement 10 aufweist. Dabei sind zwischen den beiden Laschen 7 jeweils die beiden Rollen 6 angeordnet und zwischen den beiden Rollen 6 jeweils ein Teilbereich des Zwischenelementes 10. Der Teilbereich des Zwischenelementes 10, welcher zwischen den beiden Rollen 6 angeordnet ist, hat dabei die Form einer Lasche und weist exakt eine Höhe auf, welche dem Abstand zwischen den beiden Rollen entspricht. Dadurch fügt sich das Zwischenelement 10 nahtlos in die Aneinanderreihung von Laschen 7 und Rollen 6 ein, so dass ein Verkippen der einzelnen Bauteile zueinander nicht mehr möglich ist. Ebenso wird durch die bündige Aneinanderreihung ein Dazwischenhebeln mittels beispielsweise eines Schraubendrehers unmöglich.
