Description

AN OVEN COMPRISING A PORTABLE MEMORY PORT
  • The present invention relates to an oven comprising a portable memory port.
  • Nowadays transferring data of cooking recipes, audio tracks etc to ovens has become an application that is desired by the user. Transfer of data to ovens is accomplished by means of portable memories. The portable memory port is positioned on the oven. The electronic components may be adversely affected due to heat and moisture since the portable memory port is close to the electronic components. Therefore, the position of the portable memory port and the designs that aim closing the portable memory port when the portable memory is not plugged into the portable memory port gain importance.
  • In the state of the art European Patent Application No. EP1404157A1, a microwave oven is described wherein the USB drive is plugged by means of the USB drive port situated on the front wall of the body and wherein the cooking recipes data etc downloaded from the internet provider are installed to the USB drive.
  • In the state of the art United States of America Patent No. US6949729B1, a relay box is described that provides communication with the microwave oven and the personal computer and which transfers the data received from the Internet to the microwave oven. The cooking recipe etc data downloaded from the Internet are transferred to the oven from the relay box through a port on the lower wall of the oven by means of a cable and a connective intermediary component.
  • The aim of the present invention is the realization of an oven comprising a portable memory port.
  • The oven, receiving data from outside, realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention, explicated in the first claim and the respective claims thereof, comprises at least one opening providing access to the oven cavity, a frame surrounding the opening, a panel having a bottom wall, extending forwards in the horizontal direction from the frame disposed on the opening and a door, covering the surface of the frame and the bottom wall when in the closed position and providing access to the opening in the open position thereby enabling the user to place foodstuffs into the oven cavity.
  • The oven comprises at least one portable memory port disposed on the frame or the bottom wall. By means of this position, the portable memory port cannot be accessed when the door is closed but can be accessed when the door is opened.
  • The oven comprises at least one protector that is opened/closed by being moved. The protector contacts the frame or the bottom wall by closing the front of the portable memory port when closed. The protector closes the portable memory port by being positioned parallel to the frame or the bottom wall. The protector prevents access to the portable memory port by means of this position that is acquired when closed.
  • The front of the portable memory port is opened when the protector is opened, allowing access to the portable memory port. While the protector is open, it forms a protrusion in the closing direction of the door, so as to be almost vertical to the support or the frame and to extend from the panel or the frame towards the door. Due to this acquired position, the protector serves as a stopper that prevents the door from closing.
  • In an embodiment of the present invention, the portable memory port is disposed on the bottom wall. The protector is disposed on the bottom wall by means of a support. The protector is mounted on the lower surface of the support and has a handle providing it to be moved pivotally around the point whereto it is mounted and to be opened/closed. The protector is opened/closed by being rotated clockwise or counterclockwise around the point whereto it is mounted by means of the handle. The user opens/closes the protector by holding from the handle. In this embodiment, barriers are disposed on the lower surface of the support, that when the protector is in the open position, do not allow the protector to uncontrollably change its position without the intention of the user and that restrain the movements of the handle and the protector.
  • In an embodiment of the present invention, the protector is shaped as a cover attached on the support or the bottom wall by being supported from one side. The protector serves as a cover that opens or closes the front of the portable memory port. Upon coming to an almost perpendicular position to the support or the bottom wall in the vertical axis, the protector changes to the open position by opening the front of the portable memory port. When the protector rotates clockwise from the point whereto it is mounted, it becomes parallel to the lower surface of the support or the bottom wall and changes to the closed position by closing the front of the portable memory port.
  • In a derivative of this embodiment, the oven comprises an encasement disposed behind the panel, placed on the support or the bottom wall, that encases the electronic components on the support or the bottom wall. The encasement provides the portable memory to be protected from heat and moisture by covering over the support or the bottom wall.
  • In an embodiment of the present invention, the oven comprises a switch that is actuated by the movement of the protector. The switch is actuated by the position the protector takes when closed and allows electricity flow to the oven. The oven starts operating when the door is closed by contacting a surface of the frame or the bottom wall.
  • An oven realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention is illustrated in the attached figures, where:

  • The oven (1) of the present invention comprises at least one body (2), at least one casing (3), at least one oven cavity (4) inside the casing (3), at least one opening (5) providing access to the oven cavity (4), a frame (6) surrounding the opening (5) and a panel (7) disposed on the opening (5), having a bottom wall (15) extending forwards from the frame (6) in the horizontal direction.
  • The oven (1) comprises at least one door (9) that closes the opening (5) in the closed position by being opposite to the frame (6) and the bottom wall (15) and that provides access to the oven cavity (4) in the open position. The door (9), when changed to the open position by the user, allows foodstuffs to be placed into the oven cavity (4) and provides access to the foodstuffs by the user (Figure 1).
  • The oven (1) of the present invention comprises at least one portable memory port (10) disposed on the frame (6) or the bottom wall (15) (Figure 2). Data like cooking recipes, Mp3 in the portable memory (U) plugged into the portable memory port (10) are transferred to the oven (1). The portable memory port (10) cannot be accessed when the door (9) is in the closed position since the portable memory port (10) is disposed on the frame (6) or the bottom wall (15) (Figure 3 and Figure 5), however it can be accessed when the door (9) is in the open position (Figure 4 and Figure 6). Consequently, the portable memory port (10) is provided to be less affected from the air at high temperature and moisture by the portable memory port (10) being concealed. By means of this positioning, the portable memory port (10) is integrated with the oven (1) without ruining the exterior esthetic appearance of the oven (1).
  • The oven (1) of the present invention comprises a protector (11), having a closed position wherein the portable memory port (10) is covered and an open position wherein access is allowed to the portable memory port (10). The protector (11) changes position between the open and closed positions by being moved. When in the closed position, the protector (11) entirely covers the portable memory port (10) by contacting with the frame (6) or the bottom wall (15) (Figure 3 and Figure 5). The protector (11) is in parallel position with respect to the surface of the frame (6) or the bottom wall (15). Thus, this position acquired by the protector (11) does not pose an obstacle for closing of the door (9) and the door (9) closes completely if the protector (11) is closed.
  • The protector (11) is approximately in perpendicular position with respect to the frame (6) or the bottom wall (15) when in the open position. When the protector (11) is in the open position, the protector (11) serves as a stopper by extending towards the door (9) or forming an obstacle on the bottom wall (15) or the frame (6) (Figure 1 – Figure 2). In this position, when the door (9) is desired to be closed, the door (9) bears against the protector (11) (Figure 2). When the protector (11) is in the open position, the door (9) cannot be closed completely. Thus, the portable memory (U) plugged into the portable memory port (10) is protected.
  • In an embodiment of the present invention, the oven (1) comprises a support (8) disposed on the bottom wall (15) and the protector (11) mounted on the support (8). The protector (11) has a handle (13) that provides it to change position between the open and closed positions by rotating around the point from which it is mounted to the support (8) (Figure 3 and Figure 4). The protector (11) is provided to change places between the open and closed positions of the protector (11) by being moved around the point from which it is mounted on the support (8) clockwise or counterclockwise by means of the handle (13). The protector (11) is mounted on the lower surface of the support (8).
  • The protector (11) rotates parallel to the lower surface of the support (8) around the point whereto it is mounted. Accordingly, when the user rotates the protector (11) clockwise around the point whereto it is mounted by means of the handle (13), the front of the portable memory port (10) is closed and the protector (11) changes to the closed position (Figure 3).
  • Changing of the protector (11) from the closed position to the open position is possible by rotating the handle (13) counterclockwise (Figure 4). In this embodiment of the present invention, the support (8) comprises barriers (12, 102) that are situated on its lower surface and that restrain the movement of the handle (13) (Figure 3 and Figure 4). The door (9) contacts the handle (13) in case the door (9) is closed at an undesired, unexpected moment. The protector (11) is prevented from closing by rotating due to the force transmitted from the door (9) by means of the barriers (12, 102) and the movement of the protector (11) is restrained (Figure 3 and Figure 4). The barriers (12, 102) serve as stoppers while the protector (11) is rotated by means of the handle (13).
  • In another embodiment of the present invention, the protector (11) is shaped as a cover that is mounted by being supported from one side to the lower surface of the support (8) or the lower wall (15) (Figure 5 and Figure 6). The front of the portable memory port (10) is opened and the protector (11) shifts to the open position when the protector (11) is changed to completely perpendicular position with respect to the lower surface of the support (8) in the vertical axis (Figure 6). The protector (11) is approximately in perpendicular position with respect to the support (8) or the bottom wall (15) while in the open position. The protector (11) changes to the closed position by a rotational clockwise movement around the point whereto it is mounted (Figure 5). The protector (11) that serves as a cover closing the portable memory port (10), is at parallel position with respect to the lower surface of the support (8) while in the closed position.
  • In a derivative of this embodiment, the oven (1) comprises an encasement (16) disposed behind the panel (7), positioned so as to cover over the portable memory port (10) and the support (8) whereon the electronic components are situated. The portable memory port (10) is protected from hot and humid air by means of the encasement (16).
  • In an embodiment of the present invention, the oven (1) comprises a switch (14) that is actuated mechanically with the movement of the protector (11) (Figure 5 and Figure 6). In this embodiment wherein the portable memory port (10) is on the support (8), the switch (14) is disposed behind the panel (7) and on the support (8). The protector (11) actuates the switch (14) when changed to the closed position and allows electricity to flow (Figure 5). Consequently, the oven (1) is prevented from operating when the door (9) is open if the protector (11) is also in the open position.
  • By means of the present invention, the portable memory port (10) can be accessed in the open position of the door (9). By means of this positioning, the portable memory port (10) is integrated with the oven (1) without ruining the esthetic appearance of the oven (1). The portable memory port (10) is concealed from the exterior environment with this position. The door (9) does not close unless the protector (11) changes to the closed position while the front of the portable memory port (10) is open, by means of the protector (11) preventing the door (9) from closing by extending towards the closing direction of the door (9). Consequently, the door (9) is prevented from closing completely while the portable memory (U) is plugged into the portable memory port (10) thus preventing the portable memory (U) from being damaged. The portable memory port (10) is provided to be less affected by the high temperature air and moisture. In addition to this, since the front of the portable memory port (10) is closed, the hot and humid air is also not allowed to reach the electronic components near the portable memory port (10).
  • It is to be understood that the present invention is not limited by the embodiments disclosed above and a person skilled in the art can easily introduce different embodiments. These should be considered within the scope of the protection postulated by the claims of the present invention.
